- Vegeta exploded into his Super Saiyan 2 transformation, lightning instantly erupting around his aura. Frozen in place, he began to power up, gathering more and more energy. The crackles of electricity continued to build and build until they were one solid sphere wrapping completely around him. The prince of Saiyans was curled into a ball, pushing his power higher and higher.
- Then, just as his energy peaked, he flung out both arms directly in front of himself and ripped the fabric of space apart like a sheet of paper. The glittering edges of the nascent rift portal shot outward at the speed of light. Within a split second, the gaping tear in space was fifty thousand miles across and continuing to grow.

- The prince struggled as the portal flashed, its edges dancing with a spray of relativistic particles. He had never created a rift this wide before, never had to compensate for this much momentum.
- The flood of oncoming asteroids passed into the portal just inches in front of him and shot back out in the opposite direction, like rubber balls bounding off a transparent wall. The reflected wave crashed back onto itself violently, chunks of rock smashing into each other and shattering into thousands of fragments. Still, the portal held, reflecting the entire wave of orbiting debris backward.
