  1. Wren stuff
  2. #1: What defining moments have you experienced? (3)
  3. •The first time dwarven not-dad took her in to his home, which slowly became a permanent sanctuary.
  4. •Super vague memory of being beaten up by a terrified villager she was trying to play with as a child (and, worse, later learning she'd accidentally hurt said terrified villager after drawing her near, making that reaction justified).
  5. •The traveling Bard who rode in one day, wasn't a bit wary of her, and told her stories of Sarenrae and the outer world while he was around.
  6.
  7. #2: What are you afraid of?
  8. •Being killed on sight (or, worse, abandoned and driven out by everyone she likes), like not-dad always warned her would happen if she didn't behave and work to be better
  9. •Killing or hurting someone good without meaning to
  10. •Being forgotten, or remembered in a negative way
  11.
  12. #3: Who raised you?
  13. •Dwarven not-dad (Barrick), a very stony fellow who didn't treat her the best sometimes, but always seemed to care for her safety in his silent, no-nonsense way
  14. •Various other people in the village, as they warmed up to her over the years, who provided all of the liveliness Barrick didn't have and taught her all sorts of pleasantries he couldn't
  15.
  16. #4: How did you learn your skills?
  17. •Good work ethic: Barrick (he was at his nicest and most patient when teaching her to farm and be self-sufficient in other ways besides hunting food, and he always praised a good job)
  18. •Brawling skills: self-taught/instinctual with some tips from the village's hunter and scrappy kids, plus a few no-claw fights with a particularly feisty girl in later years (she might have broken a bone or two in the process)
  19. •Enchanting magic: actively discouraged and feared, which is why she doesn't really have any anymore (although she still has a pretty decent singing voice and innate ability to sense emotions)
  20.
  21. #5: What things matter to you?(1★) (2-3•)
  22. •Helping others to survive in an often cruel world
  23. •Being virtuous and liked, having a positive legacy (once in a while she has trouble remembering you have to act likably to be liked)
  24. •Spreading some peace and justice somehow, probably with claws because words are hard
  25. ★Making sure her life is a positive example for others/has a measurably good impact on the world
  26.
  27. #6: What do you believe in?
  28. Anybody can be cool and good if they try, whatever their background, even the people from races called "inherently evil". They only act that way because of a lack of love and (lots of) patience around them. If she were better, she could help them see that herself, but survival takes priority over redeeming. She can at least try to tell others who *can* afford to try to help everyone that doing so is the right thing. She's still young (and kinda Disadvantaged at Common), though, and these sentiments are hard to express for her.
  29.
  30. #7: How many knives do you have? (3-5)
  31. •Well, she's a harpy. Some people in Golarion aren't fond of harpies in general, somewhat justifiably. (Fab's used this knife a few times already.) She has just a smidge of internalized racism as a result of her earlier experiences, and it's taken a lot of nice people to get across that she's largely fine just as she is, whatever she is - her self-esteem and advocacy are a lot stabler now, but a desire to prove or "redeem" herself still gets in the way of more selfless motivations every now and then. (Not helped by her innate tendency to unconcerned practicality giving weight to her worries that she isn't good.)
  32. •The rumor around the village went that the bard came in after hearing about her somehow. He was certainly nice to her...and if that was the case, why did she never see him again? This isn't much of a knife, though, admittedly, more of a strange moment in her life.
  33. •The circumstances of her birth and subsequent childhood in a small village far from other harpies (more specifically, just on the other side of the divide to Darkmoon Vale proper) aren't very clear. Since dwarven not-dad will outlive her by a long time, she sometimes wonders if he just thinks of her as a weird blip on his life, or some sort of pet...she wouldn't dare ask him either of those things, of course.
  34. •People she grew up with were eventually pretty kind to her and she promised to pay them back when she could return from whatever job(s) she found. Hopefully she isn't taking too long...with the whole pirate excursion and all.
  35. •Being very easily recognizable means that she's always on notice in the eyes of certain members of the law. She worked hard to follow all of the rules in her brief time working in Olfden (having not encountered any awful ones), and luckily her impromptu exile at the hands of some tavern owner didn't seem to reflect on her. She's a lot more concerned about news spreading from Falcon's Hollow and the possibility of the stolen boat being connected with her.
  36.
  37. #8: What is your small legend?
  38. Very mildly famous in and around her home due to her atypical birth circumstances, exotic nature, quirky mannerisms, and rather brutal way of defending others.
  39.
  40. #9: Who (or what) has your loyalty? (2-3)
  41. •Her village. She knows everyone in it at least somewhat well and she'd go to some extreme lengths to keep them safe - they're one of the few cases where she tends more towards sentimentality than practicality.
  42. •Mica and Puff. She wasn't expecting to become close to them after they got her kicked out of a town she liked due to being dummies, but they seem mostly good and plenty nice, and she's very invested in making sure they survive and stay happy too - even though she doesn't actually know them very well.
  43. •Lady Cirthana (she became interested in Iomedae and her cause pretty much immediately because of her), Doorknob, the priestess of Sarenrae, and other nice people she's run into.
  44.
  45. #10: What would break them?
  46. Total exile, isolation, and/or the promise of her fears becoming true.
