- << Citra settings guide >>
- Under the Emulation -> Configure tab:
- Configure: Limit the speed % to 100% if you're playing online with others to avoid connection issues.
- Graphics: Disable Stereoscopic 3D Mode and leave Depth at 0%
- Controls: If you're using a controller and you want to use the triggers for ZL and ZR, make sure Citra displays "Axis +", instead of "Axis -".
- << Multiplayer & how to host a public room >>
- Under the Emulation -> Configure tab:
- Configure -> Web: Login to Citra's web service in order to be able to host public rooms.
- In order to properly host a public room on Citra, you need to port forward to the 24872 port, using UDP.
- After port forwarding, you'll be able to create rooms under the Multiplayer tab.
- Port forwarding is not required to join rooms, only to host them.
- <<IMPORTANT NOTES>>
- About MH3U:
- MH3U's cutscenes will run very poorly at a slow speed, but the rest of the game will run perfectly.
- The only way to get around this issue is to open Citra's configuration and head over to the "System" tab: here you will see an option called "CPU Clock Speed" which will be 100% by default, simply set that to a value between 20 and 30% and your cutscenes should run at full speed. Note that you should change the "CPU Clock Speed" back to 100% during normal gameplay otherwise your game might freeze.
- Using the 60 FPS cheat code for MH3U will result in a few bugs, such as Hammer charge distance being altered.
- About MHXX:
- MHXX will stutter \ frameskip unless you set custom CPU ticks to 77 (this setting isn't found in official Citra builds, but can be enabled in Valentin \ Rasp). You can toggle the custom CPU ticks setting by pressing Ctrl T, you need to disable it during cutscenes, otherwise the game will freeze at 0 FPS until you disable the custom CPU ticks. TLDR: Set custom CPU ticks to 77 for MHXX, disable it during cutscenes by pressing Ctrl T.

- << Instructions >>
- Right click your respective game in Citra and select "Open Extra Data Location".
- Move the contents of the downloaded folder into the "user" folder, overwriting any existing files in the process.
- << IMPORTANT NOTE >>
- Due to the way that MHXX saves your user data, installing the DLC \ Event quests will erase your existing save, forcing you to start over.
- This is not the case for MH4U or MH3U, you can install the DLC \ Event quests and keep your existing save file.
