  1. Operation ... fuck if i know what. i havent come up with a name yet, part of story arc...also havent come up with a name for it.
  2. Actually, how about "Operation Static"
  3.
  4. OOC summary: First in a line of ops with an overarching goal of assisting a strange mage who requires 'mundane assistance and the occasional magical substitute' for mostly not understood experiments regarding various types of 'normal' (red/blue/yellow) magika. This operation will consist of assisting the mage in reaching a desired location, within an area of the wastelands known for very high electromagnetic interference and regular, violent thunderstorms.
  5.
  6. IC Briefing: After a few seconds of static, the recording begins, showing a mage clad in armor ( https://i.pinimg.com/736x/09/52/05/095205bb5d8a2389aa49d0ad2297af16--fantasy-warrior-fantasy-art.jpg ) facing the screen, sitting in an old chair with a large, white cat on his lap and a young drevii man standing next to him, looking concerned. A few seconds later, the mage begins speaking. "Ahh, yes, yes, you are the ones known as 'Scorpion Security Solutions, yes?' I am Flairon,Former Third Flame Magus of what was once known as 'The Tribunal.' So much for cooperation in magikal study... nngh. Yes, where was I? I require assistance crossing a great divide, and I am willing to pay VERY handsomely to get it! I require transportation through... Sector 66-B-Delta of the Dawn Colony Wasteland! Yes, transportation. I must be taken to the mountain commonly known by more...mundane folk as 'Mount Schuler.' Yes I know! 'But Master Flairon! It's too dangerous to fly there!' Then I don't need to be flown! I require transport nonetheless, of both myself, my spineless assistant, and my research equipment. I am positive that I am on a breakthrough into quasi-neutrino particles and their interactions with red magikal energy! This is absolutely vital!"
  7.
  8. Information on area of operations: Sector 66-B-Delta is known for high amounts of EMI (electromagnetic interference) and violent lightning storms theorized to be caused by high levels of red magika, and other minerals capable of amplifying this energy. As a direct result, communication will be severely hampered on the ground. Once operations are underway, it will be difficult to maintain radio contact with NIDUS, or with other information gathering sources not located with the deploying operatives. In addition, transportation by air has been deemed impossible. You'll be going on the ground for this one, by land vehicles.
  9.
  10. Information on 'Flairon' from Sanctum Hydra Leiting: "Flarion is an old mage. Very old. And a bit out there, one part Scientist, one part Magus. His research in the Tribunal, when it was a legally sanctioned representation of the Venusian Imperium, was vast and dipped into all three 'basic' known types of magika - Red, Blue, and Yellow, but he wasn't exactly someone I worked with. Whatever he wants you lot for, it's probably important. Regardless, he parted ways with the Tribunal well before it became Sanctum. I'm sure your Order contacts can get more information as he's still a legally sanctioned mage, but he's been...out of touch with just about everyone for years. What I can tell you is it's a job worth taking, if only to figure out what he's up to. I'm sure both myself and other mages within the company would benefit from the knowledge and from working with him. Still, he's narcissistic, eccentric, and downright rude sometimes, but... he'll pay well. Well enough to ignore his strangeness, i'm sure. I'll pay extra for any information on his research, and i'm sure The Order would as well.

  12. Information on 'Flairon' from Order mage ______ :
  13.
  14. Operations Checklist:
  15. 1. Rendezvous with Flairon and his assistant slightly outside the operation zone.
  16. 2. Load up all cargo the mage requires for his research, and proceed into the zone. The convoy will be equipped with marker beacons to plant on the path to enable a safe way back, at least for a time.
  17. 3. Proceed through Sector 66-B-Delta to reach 'Mt. Schuler.' Currently there is a high likelihood of the wastes being inhabited by hostiles, as scouting reports have noticed their equipment being destroyed by strange forces not likely to be EMI or related to the ongoing storms in the area. Defend the convoy against all threats until reaching the target location. Once you get there, the EMI interference should lighten up enough to contact NIDUS of your success.
  18. 4. Assist in setting up the mage's base camp. Flairon will point out where he would like to do so upon arrival at the mountain.
  19. 5. Transport team will RTB, leaving a small stationary force (NPCs) to assist in the meantime.
  20.
  21. Other OOC information & environmental modifiers:
  22. - The landscape being traveled through is rife with EMI and lightning storms. No aerial vehicles are allowed, and the area is considered to be semi-foggy limiting visibility to 50m at any one time.
  23. - EMI renders communication and reinforcement difficult from outside of the operating zone. Reinforcements will take additional time to arrive if called in. (e.g. if people are late, they'll have to take extra time to join.)
  24. - The area is rife with lightning storms and dangerous pools of magikal energy. The convoy will need to move quickly. Posts are limited to 10 minutes between each one, except for storyteller posts as the ST needs to react to all players.
  25.
  26. Estimated date/time: Noon SLT, November 19th, 2017.
