  1. [21:58] <Vanity> Buck, questchums about what may or may not go on on this excursion onto Mt. Chimney. Ignatius wants to poke hunt while we're talking, and wants to know if any of his pokemon were not infected.
  2.
  3. [21:58] <Vanity> So both of those things need answers, really.
  4.
  5. [21:58] <Web> I don't think Cyrus was released in the base
  6.
  7. [21:58] <Web> Elvis was the one who was out when I got knocked out.
  8.
  9. [21:59] <BuckBacon> Hmm, hold on, please
  10.
  11. [21:59] <Web> ...I think
  12.
  13. [22:00] <Vanity> That is accurate, Web.
  14.
  15. [22:00] <Web> You know you play too much PTA when you go into bulbapedia and put in your pokemon's name
  16.
  17. [22:00] <Web> *nickname
  18.
  19. [22:00] <Vanity> Of course. This may not happen tonight at all, anyway. We're just trying to get details together. We know you're HUNTING.
  20.
  21. [22:01] <BuckBacon> Nah nah, it's fine
  22.
  23. [22:02] <BuckBacon> Ignatius doesn't really know much about the virus. He's not sure if or how it's transmittable.
  24.
  25. [22:02] <BuckBacon> Anyway, you guys can go ahead and get started. I may be slow at first, but Nestor's deal should be closing soon.
  26.
  27. [22:02] <Web> If it is transmittable like that, well, he has infected so many places by letting them roam around
  28.
  29. [22:03] <Vanity> Right.
  30.
  31. [22:03] <Vanity> I mean, "Right?"
  32.
  33. [22:03] <Web> Elvis poops in the woods, every pokemon in it is now infected
  34.
  35. [22:03] <BuckBacon> If that's the case, then yes
  36.
  37. [22:03] <Vanity> We actually bring the pestilence everywhere. Ironyyyy!
  38.
  39. [22:04] <Vanity> A scan of his pokemon would yield the ??? status message though, right?
  40.
  41. [22:04] <Web> ...I may want to get Kuria's mini done before the mountain...unless I could make the call while in the mountain...hmmm
  42.
  43. [22:04] <Vanity> He supposedly handed over his infected pokemon last session. Capone's still with Vanity simply by virtue of the fact that the machine isn't made for him and needs to be calibrated after the balls are done touching.
  44.
  45. [22:06] * You are now known as Iggy
  46.
  47. [22:06] <Vanity> One could argue that he'd already scanned them to know whether or not they were infected with the virus at that point in time. I can't remember exactly what was demanded of us, if we were just supposed to hand over all our pokemon or just the diseased.
  48.
  49. [22:07] <BuckBacon> You are supposed to hand everything over, but at the time ot was a request, not a demand.
  50.
  51. [22:07] <BuckBacon> The demands will come to the slackers later
  52.
  53. [22:07] <Iggy> And iggy did...
  54.
  55. [22:08] <Vanity> So I guess we'd rely on your black magic and my fists of fury.
  56.
  57. [22:08] <Iggy> True.
  58.
  59. [22:09] <Iggy> Of course, I have one Black Magic spell
  60.
  61. [22:09] <Vanity> Ever heard the phrase "you hold, I punch?"
  62.
  63. [22:09] <Iggy> which is not that good against the pokemon I am looking for :p
  64.
  65. [22:09] <Iggy> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=60og9gwKh1o
  66.
  67. [22:09] <Vanity> There's always pedocatching. Lol.
  68.
  69. [22:10] <Iggy> True
  70.
  71. [22:10] <Vanity> DAMMIT WEB
  72.
  73. [22:10] <Iggy> Sorry
  74.
  75. [22:11] <Vanity> So are we doin' it man? Are we making this hapen?
  76.
  77. [22:11] <BuckBacon> Like I said. You two start it off. I'll moderate
  78.
  79. [22:11] <Vanity> I'm talkin' to Web. Jeeeeezzzzz.
  80.
  81. [22:11] <BuckBacon> You jeeeeez
  82.
  83. [22:11] <Vanity> I just did.
  84.
  85. [22:11] <Vanity> So there.
  86.
  87. [22:12] * Iggy heads off into the mountains, wandering, after being unable to steal is pokemon out from under the eyes of Professor "Needs To Get Laid"
  88.
  89. [22:13] <Iggy> *his
  90.
  91. [22:14] * Iggy heads off towards where the others went, but stays off of the beaten path a bit.
  92.
  93. [22:14] * Iggy is wandering for about half an hour or so when...
  94.
  95. [22:15] * Vanity is waiting a little ways up the mountain close to a planned meeting spot. She didn't quite understand where Ignatius was trying to get her to go, but did the best she could. At first glance it'd be very difficult to tell it is her. She has changed clothing since the last time Ignatius saw her, and is sporting what looks like a light combat uniform instead of her normal clothing. She
  96.
  97. [22:15] * Vanity takes a sip of a bottle of water strapped to her side as Ignatius approaches. This suit is not breezy.
  98.
  99. [22:16] <Iggy> ((I thought it was Vanity's idea to meet off the beaten path, and I was waiting for Vanity's text. Oh well))
  100.
  101. [22:17] <Vanity> ((It was Vanity's idea to meet off the beaten path, but you know the mountain, that's what I'm getting at there.))
  102.
  103. [22:18] <Iggy> "Ah, you're here. Glad you found it,"
  104.
  105. [22:19] <Vanity> "Something like that. I'm not familiar with the finer parts of volcano ecology. I couldn't tell which circle of stones and tree you meant, so I picked this one." Vanity responds cordially, looking around cautiously. "Were you followed?"
  106.
  107. [22:19] * Iggy sits down on a rock next to what appears to be a beach ball hotspring.
  108.
  109. [22:19] * DiceMaid-9001 (DiceMaid-9@sux-EADD5C74) has joined #teteatete
  110.
  111. [22:19] <Iggy> *beach ball sized
  112.
  113. [22:20] <Vanity> "This is one of the famous Chimney hotsprings? Funny. I thought they'd be... bigger."
  114.
  115. [22:22] <Iggy> "It's a protospring. Do some digging and it could be a full spring. As far as I can tell, I wasn't followed, Saxton was pouring over data and Christina was pouring over booze, so i think I'm safe on that end. Were you followed?"
  116.
  117. [22:23] <Iggy> *protospring = a term iggy pulled off the top of his head to define a hot spring which hasn't fully been developed.
  118.
  119. [22:25] <Vanity> "Doubtful. After Ana and Alphonse got arrested we all parted ways in a huff, and I don't exactly look myself after a quick change at the local poke center." Vanity responds, peering down the trail into the foliage just in case. Seeing nothing, she sighs and shakes her head. "It has been a hell of a day. Why don't you show me some of this volcano of yours, Ignatius, until we're sure the coast
  120.
  121. [22:25] <Vanity> is clear?"
  122.
  123. [22:25] <Vanity> 1d20+2 Explorervision!
  124.
  125. [22:25] <DiceMaid-9001> Vanity, Explorervision!: 3 [1d20=1]
  126.
  127. [22:26] <Iggy> 1d20 ExplorerHeatVison
  128.
  129. [22:26] <DiceMaid-9001> Iggy, ExplorerHeatVison: 17 [1d20=17]
  130.
  131. [22:27] <Iggy> "Wait, so how many people are arrested now? Tison, ana, AND alphonse?"
  132.
  133. [22:27] <BuckBacon> Vanity is blinded by steam
  134.
  135. [22:28] <Vanity> "Oh." Vanity puts her hand on her face. "I'm sorry, I'm conflagrating arrests in out little group. Just Tison and Ana, for now. I doubt Alphonse will get himself into trouble, as well, with Ana gone."
  136.
  137. [22:28] <BuckBacon> Ignatius, on the other hand, can follow the flow of magma through the ground with his new heat vision. This shit is crazy.
  138.
  139. [22:29] <Vanity> *our
  140.
  141. [22:30] <Iggy> "Don't bet on it. He'll get in trouble trying to get to Ana."
  142.
  143. [22:30] <Iggy> "Whoa, this is kind of freaky. I developed a new trick recently, to see heat, came with the desire to find what I couldn't readily, like the Fire Spin came when I felt guily about being unable to stop Gregson."
  144.
  145. [22:30] <Iggy> "I can actually see where the magma is flowing, in the ground. Cool."
  146.
  147. [22:32] <Vanity> "That's... got to be distracting, here. Isn't the magma kind of flowing everywhere?" Vanity asks, shrugging and moving along. "Nestor and I talked to Alphonse. We all agreed that they should probably have a time out tonight and think about what complete children they're being."
  148.
  149. [22:35] <Iggy> "I am surprised that Ana went and punched Tison, I am glad I am on her good side, despite that automatically getting me on Al's bad side."
  150.
  151. [22:35] <BuckBacon> Ignatius: The larger branch of lava cappilaries are just up ahead. Though, a chain-link fence blocks your path. Funny, you don't remember that before you left.
  152.
  153. [22:35] <Iggy> "....This is new."
  154.
  155. [22:36] * Iggy tosses a stick at the fence.
  156.
  157. [22:36] <Vanity> "This must be the LN's doing." Vanity comments. "Alphonse and some of the locals have talked about some restrictions on the mountain since one of the rain dancers or whatever died up there."
  158.
  159. [22:36] <BuckBacon> The fence sparks
  160.
  161. [22:36] <Iggy> "Who would put an electric fence all the way out here."
  162.
  163. [22:37] <Vanity> "I'm not particularly surprised that Ana punched Tison, though. They're both ready to fight whenever."
  164.
  165. [22:40] <Iggy> "Once of the water psys died up here? How?"
  166.
  167. [22:40] <Vanity> "I didn't ask the details. They were doing something dangerous, and one of them was too bold, or something. Access to the lava is restricted, now."
  168.
  169. [22:41] <Iggy> "Now that puts a damper on Mt Chimney. The lava was one of the great things about it, and sectioning off the slope is bound to make the native pokemon angry."
  170.
  171. [22:42] <Vanity> "That's very possible. It's nothing we have any time to deal with, though. Danforth will be here tomorrow, and I hope he has answers."
  172.
  173. [22:42] <Vanity> "Because we just lost our best chance of beating this virus."
  174.
  175. [22:44] <Iggy> "Birch seemed...different, less morose when he was talking to Christina."
  176.
  177. [22:45] <Vanity> "They spent time together, remember? After we were arrested. Maybe even before that. I don't know anything about that woman, but for some reason, Birch trusts her. I don't."
  178.
  179. [22:46] <Iggy> "Yeah, Out of all the people who have learned about my fire skills...I trust her the least to keep it under wraps. She even went as far to learn the mind block, though she isn't as good as you at it."
  180.
  181. [22:47] <Vanity> "So I take it you had to take a deeper look inside of her? Was she plotting, or just talking to Birch, after all?"
  182.
  183. [22:48] <Iggy> "The only look that I got in her mind was something about Bounties, and checking our group's status in regard to bounties..."
  184.
  185. [22:50] <Iggy> "While birch was going on about that ring on Raph's neck...something about contacts and Birch knowing...and something about putting something on and letting somone do something...."
  186.
  187. [22:50] <Vanity> "Bounties? If we're targeted, then that means somebody probably knows what we were up to at Seaside already..."
  188.
  189. [22:50] <Vanity> "I can't begin to comprehend what all that is about, but he did make mention of the neck thing earlier."
  190.
  191. [22:50] <Vanity> "It seemed important to him."
  192.
  193. [22:50] <Iggy> 1d20 Wisdom...How far does the syc------fence go. If we don't track it down, we may never know.
  194.
  195. [22:51] <DiceMaid-9001> Iggy, Wisdom...How far does the syc------fence go. If we don't track it down, we may never know.: 16 [1d20=16]
  196.
  197. [22:51] * Vanity begins looking nervously over her shoulder and whispers to Capone. This conversation is making her tense up a little.
  198.
  199. [22:52] <Iggy> "Yeah, I didn't mean to get into her mind. I was aiming at where I thought Birch might be."
  200.
  201. [22:52] <BuckBacon> Ignatius: It wraps around as far as what you can see of the mountain
  202.
  203. [22:52] <BuckBacon> These LN guys must be thorough
  204.
  205. [22:53] <Vanity> "I'm sure being psychic isn't science. I'm sure a lot of what you do is more art than science. I am, however, concerned about what it is that you do." Vanity says to him, straightening up some. "Being in our group is getting more and more dangerous, and I need to know who I can trust."
  206.
  207. [22:55] <Iggy> "I used my telepathy sparingly. The last time I actually read-read one of our group's minds other then Christina's was Ralph's by accident in Petalburg. Besides that...I have only used it as a radio."
  208.
  209. [22:56] <Iggy> "In regards to our group, that is."
  210.
  211. [22:58] <Vanity> "I'm not talking about that, Ignatius." Vanity tells him. "There are people who are looking in to us, right now. Gathering information on us. If you don't know who they are, right now, it's probably better that you don't, but what you do need to know is that they are very dangerous, and someone wants us to think that you are the one feeding them information." As Vanity says this, she backs
  212.
  213. [22:58] <Vanity> away from Ignatius. "I want to trust you. You've never done anything wrong in my eyes, but these people are some of the worst people in Hoenn. I don't know who they might employ, but a psychic would be an excellent gatherer of information."
  214.
  215. [22:59] <Vanity> "I don't know you that well, Ignatius. But I do know this. If you are on their payroll, you don't want to be."
  216.
  217. [23:01] <Iggy> "...I-I-I would never... I'm not even that kind of psychic."
  218.
  219. [23:03] <Vanity> "Like I said, Ignatius. I don't know you well. I don't know that I can trust you. All I know is that some people from the government think that you're the leak, and I want to warn you, if you are, that the people who are after us are the same people who are responsible for Seaside. Whoever is helping them is helping the people who did those experiments on all of those innocent pokemon."
  220.
  221. [23:03] <Vanity> "And if they know that we know, we aren't going to be just the only Diplomats left, anymore. We're going to be the last."
  222.
  223. [23:04] <Iggy> "M-Me? A leak? I abhor those people who did those experiments."
  224.
  225. [23:04] <Vanity> 1d20+2 Critical eye.
  226.
  227. [23:04] <DiceMaid-9001> Vanity, Critical eye.: 14 [1d20=12]
  228.
  229. [23:05] <Vanity> (That was to see if I could glean some sense of whether or not Ignatius is telling the truth.)
  230.
  231. [23:05] <Vanity> (Rather, if Vanity can.)
  232.
  233. [23:05] * Iggy is fully sincere.
  234.
  235. [23:06] <Iggy> "I mean, Ms Sand said Bella is a spy for the Castle Crone, but she said all Chingling and Chimecho were. ...but I trust Bella, and haven't sensed anything about the Crone since we left Oldale."
  236.
  237. [23:08] <Vanity> "I've seen you with your pokemon. I believe that you wouldn't condone those actions. I've heard nothing of the old woman since then, either, but I did suspect that the Chingling and Chimecho in Rustboro were connected. They don't belong there, and the students were defending the dojo. Maybe we should stop by the church again and do a little investigation."
  238.
  239. [23:09] <Vanity> "If the Crone is using Bella as a spy, Bella may have no choice. Perhaps we could feed her some false information and see where it turns up."
  240.
  241. [23:10] <Iggy> "Bella is as much of a psychic as I am, telepathy and telekinesis all. However, I don't like lying to her, and I don't think I could, really....
  242.
  243. [23:11] <Iggy> "Bella did have trouble talking to the Chimecho at the gym...maybe her bond with the crone was broken when I balled her."
  244.
  245. [23:11] <Vanity> "You don't lie to her at all. We just set up a situation where you and I privately talk about some false scenario in front of all of your pokemon."
  246.
  247. [23:12] <Vanity> "And see if anyone acts on it."
  248.
  249. [23:12] <Iggy> "...maybe....like what?"
  250.
  251. [23:13] <Vanity> "Bella would be a conduit, in that case. A port through which the Crone's eye sees. If the Crone is that powerful, we may have to do something about her, too. Regardless, we have to stop this leak. Saxton told me today that all of the other Diplomat groups disbanded. We are all that is left."
  252.
  253. [23:13] <Vanity> "We have to stick together. We have to be able to trust each other."
  254.
  255. [23:14] <Iggy> "What? We're the only group left?....I wasn't aware of any other group."
  256.
  257. [23:14] <Iggy> "Also, lets keep moving along the fence. Maybe on of the camels broke a hole through it further down."
  258.
  259. [23:14] <Iggy> 1d20 I can see clearly now, the steam is gone
  260.
  261. [23:14] <DiceMaid-9001> Iggy, I can see clearly now, the steam is gone: 18 [1d20=18]
  262.
  263. [23:15] <BuckBacon> Processing your request...
  264.
  265. [23:15] <Vanity> "Remember how Danforth was telling us about the other groups and how mistakes happen? How there was another girl with my group in Oldale? Apparently something happened." Vanity tells him as she walks along. "Danforth will be able to tell us more tomorrow when he tells us what we're going to do about this situation."
  266.
  267. [23:16] <Vanity> "As far as a false scenario goes, I'll have to think about it, and maybe get some of the other members in on it so that it looks legitimate."
  268.
  269. [23:17]
  270. [23:17] * Loaded log from Sat May 05 23:16:00 2012
  271. [23:17]
  272. [23:17] * Now talking on #teteatete
  273. [23:18] * You are now known as Ignatius
  274. [23:18] <Ignatius> "Hmmm....I'll avoid thinking about it...just in case."
  275. [23:19] <BuckBacon> 1d10
  276. [23:19] <DiceMaid-9001> BuckBacon, 1d10: 10 [1d10=10]
  277. [23:19] <BuckBacon> Ignatius spots a hole in  the fence up ahead. It looks like the fence has been shredded by something sharp
  278. [23:20] <Ignatius> "Ok, this hole wasn't made by one of the camels."
  279. [23:20] * Ignatius points out the hole to Vanity
  280. [23:20] <Vanity> How big is the hole?
  281. [23:21] <BuckBacon> about 1 foot by 1 foot, touching the ground.
  282. [23:23] <Vanity> "That looks like forced entry of some kind or another."  Vanity says, keeping an eye out around them. This doesn't sit well with her.
  283. [23:23] <Ignatius> "Too small for a human, not the right type of hole for a fire pokemon...a steel pokemon?"
  284. [23:23] <Vanity> 1d20+2
  285. [23:23] <DiceMaid-9001> Vanity, 1d20+2: 4 [1d20=2]
  286. [23:23] <BuckBacon> This section of the fence appears to have been shorted out
  287. [23:24] * Ignatius looks around for tracks
  288. [23:24] <Ignatius> 1d20
  289. [23:24] <DiceMaid-9001> Ignatius, 1d20: 2 [1d20=2]
  290. [23:24] <Vanity> "The coast looks clear, Ignatius. Does it look like anything went through this?"
  291. [23:24] <Ignatius> ((Just the 2's of us))
  292. [23:25] <BuckBacon> You all ain't seen shit
  293. [23:25] <Ignatius> "I don't see any tracks on this hard stone, but it looks like the fence is shorted out."
  294. [23:26] * Ignatius looks around for onlookers. "I could make the hole bigger..."
  295. [23:26] <Ignatius> 1d20
  296. [23:26] <DiceMaid-9001> Ignatius, 1d20: 5 [1d20=5]
  297. [23:27] <BuckBacon> You see no one else around
  298. [23:27] <Vanity> "Why don't you try out your heat thing and see if you can see any signs of life while I try to figure out how far away this short goes?"
  299. [23:27] * Vanity meanwhile picks up a stick and starts tossing it in each direction until it pops.
  300. [23:28] <Ignatius> 1d20 Lady my eyes are on fire, seeing burning heat of all sorts of fire
  301. [23:28] <DiceMaid-9001> Ignatius, Lady my eyes are on fire, seeing burning heat of all sorts of fire: 1 [1d20=1]
  302. [23:28] <BuckBacon> Ignatius is consumed by fire...y guilt.
  303. [23:29] <Ignatius> "I see lots of magma, lots and lots of magma and hot rock."
  304. [23:29] <BuckBacon> After a while of stick throwing, Vanity determines that the short only occurs between the two nearest fence posts, over a span of about 3 meters
  305. [23:30] <Vanity> "Okay. that was a bad idea. This is a volcano. I've figured out the extent of the malfunction, though. It's shorted between these two posts." Vanity says, indicating them. "I wonder if the hole was merely made to break the circuit. Maybe some of the Rainbow Kids hopped the fence?"
  306. [23:30] <Ignatius> "Rainbow kids?"
  307. [23:31] <Vanity> "The hipsters."
  308. [23:31] <Ignatius> "...Lavaridge has gone to heck."
  309. [23:32] <Ignatius> "At least the air psys aren't calling themselves greased lightning."
  310. [23:33] <Vanity> "We basically have three options here, Ignatius. We can head back into town and ignore that we ever saw this. We can tell the LN about it. Or, we can hop the fence and see your volcano. I would prefer to not be thrown in jail, myself, but I can't let you go alone if you're going."
  311. [23:33] <Ignatius> "Maybe they did, but the hole looks more like a pokemon sized hole. ...and I personally would like to go over the fence, but we are in a tenuos enough position with the law."
  312. [23:34] <Vanity> "Maybe this is the one we should let get away. We can remember it later in case we need to recreate it." Vanity says as she pulls out her iPoke and takes a picture of the fence.
  313. [23:35] <BuckBacon> Click
  314. [23:35] <Vanity> "Alternately, I can just forward this to the LN and they can keep those kids from jumping into the volcano or whatever it is that they do."
  315. [23:35] * Ignatius finds a good sized rock, one under 40lbs, and jams it in the hole with his telekinesis
  316. [23:36] <Ignatius> 1d20+3
  317. [23:36] <DiceMaid-9001> Ignatius, 1d20+3: 19 [1d20=16]
  318. [23:36] <Ignatius> (add+2. Forgot my modifier is +5 now)
  319. [23:36] <BuckBacon> The hole is now filled. Any Pokemon or hippies will have to be a bit stronger to get through
  320. [23:37] * Ignatius remembers the hole, which direction was it torn, outwards or inwards?
  321. [23:37] * Vanity shrugs and begins to head back towards town. "It's a pity that you didn't see any of the local wildlife. Who knows if they'll be able to cure our pokemon, you know? We might need to find more companions if we're going to survive."
  322. [23:38] <BuckBacon> Ignatius, the hole was torn from the outside.
  323. [23:38] <Vanity> On that note, Vanity pulls out the bottle of medicine that Capone is not particularly keen on swallowing and hands him a pill and a nondescript pastry from earlier.
  324. [23:39] <Ignatius> "Yeah, I was hoping to get some more firepower." You can hear the the emphasis on fire.
  325. [23:39] <BuckBacon> The pill, Capone is not too happy about. The scone, on the other hand, Capone eats without hesitation
  326. [23:39] * Vanity sees the rage burning in Ignatius' eyes.
  327. [23:39] <Vanity> In her mind.
  328. [23:39] <Vanity> Nowhere else.
  329. [23:40] <Vanity> "Sorry, buddy. You might be sick, just trying to keep you well, is all."
  330. [23:41] <Ignatius> "The hole was heading inside, but maybe we'll find something if we go straight down slope. There are some tunnels and caves below this altitude, so we might get lucky.
  331. [23:41] <BuckBacon> Capone reluctantly takes the pill
  332. [23:42] <Vanity> "I've got nothing better to do, and I'd like to keep Capone in form. He pretty much decimated Ms. Sand ten times, but if our opponents can take down Geoffrey..." Vanity begins, letting the silence finish her sentence, allowing Ignatius to lead the way.
  333. [23:43] <Ignatius> "Decimated? She almost decimated us. If Lya was in a little better shape, and if I got her in the water sooner, I migh have won....but that last second Hydro Pump took it out of her."
  334. [23:44] <Ignatius> 1d20 Rolling Rolling Rolling, keep those doggies rolling

  344. [23:46] <BuckBacon> As Ignatius nearly trips over a berry bush, he sees two Pokemon floating over another path close to the mountain's side.
  345. [23:47] * Ignatius looks at the pokemon as he pulls out his IPoke.
  346. [23:47] <Ignatius> 'Vanity, look'
  347. [23:47] * Ignatius whispers
  348. [23:47] <Vanity> "Careful Ig!" Vanity cautions him, but man that guy is like a cat with his last second dodging.
  349. [23:47] <BuckBacon> Ignatius begins a scan
  350. [23:48] * Vanity pulls out her ipoke and assists in the scanning, getting low. "Figured you'd be familiar with the local wildlife."
  351. [23:48] * Ignatius grabs berries off of the bush while scanning.
  352. [23:48] <BuckBacon> Ignatius grabs...

  356. [23:48] <BuckBacon> 7 Occa berries
  357. [23:49] <BuckBacon> After a moment, your iPokes return. "Koffing. L24."
  358. [23:49] <Ignatius> "Yeah, as I thought. Baby weezings. Koffings to be exact."
  359. [23:50] * Ignatius remembers the position of this bush for later.

  363. [23:50] <BuckBacon> You're pretty sure you'll remember this
  364. [23:50] <Vanity> "Koffing? Are they native to this area?" Vanity asks while she goes through her iPoke's information.
  365. [23:51] <Ignatius> "If I remember right Vanity...these guys are floating bombs..."
  366. [23:51] <Ignatius> "...poisonous floating bombs."
  367. [23:51] <BuckBacon> Biomes: Marsh, Mountain, Urban
  368. [23:51] <Ignatius> "Just like that weezing."
  369. [23:52] <Vanity> "Well, this is a mountain of sorts. I guess they sort of belong here. I don't like the sound of floating bombs, though."
  370. [23:52] <Ignatius> "I mean, they can be taught to spew fire, lightning, as well as poison...but they tend to be noxious."
  371. [23:54] <Vanity> "That doesn't really sound like anything I'd like to tangle with alone, right now. I think I still have shrapnel in me from the last time something exploded near me."
  372. [23:54] <Ignatius> "Then lets head in the other direction."
  373. [23:55] <Vanity> "Yes. Let's." Vanity agrees whole heartedly. Man. Being without pokemon around here is tough. She keeps a watch over her shoulder, hoping they aren't being pursued.
  374. [23:56] <Ignatius> "You know, it might be better if you don't tell me about which situation is the false one, to add versamilitude to it."
  375. [23:57] <Vanity> As they head WAY THE HELL AWAY from the potential enemies, Vanity keeps her eyes peeled for other pokemon and plants. Vanity nods at the suggestion. "It'll keep Bella from finding out, and anyone who looks into your head. If the other three of us can play it up..."

  383. [23:59] <Ignatius> "I found some Occa berries..perhaps Al would like some of them for Arbor."
  384. [23:59] <BuckBacon> After retreating from the pair of Koffing, Ignatius stumbles upon footprints. Okay, tracks, not footprints. One track. One thick, long line of scorch marks on rock.
  385. [00:00] <Ignatius> "Oh yes. One of my favorite pokemon on the mountain. The lava slug."
  386. [00:00] <Vanity> "What does an Occa berry do?" Vanity asks. "I have a gardening kit. Maybe we should plant a bunch of bushes near Birch's house. Do you think he'd like that? Probably wouldn't cheer him up unless they were Whiskey Berries, though..."
  387. [00:01] <Ignatius> "Protects against fire. Arbor could use the protection."
  388. [00:01] <Ignatius> "Also....Lya can use them to make fire."
  389. [00:02] <Vanity> "Oh! I found a berry that protects against rocks, apparently. Charlemagne scarfed one during the match against Ms. Sand."
  390. [00:02] <Ignatius> "Hmm...I told Tison about this pokemon. He was interested, quite interested about it."
  391. [00:03] <Ignatius> "Wait, or was it Nestor..."
  392. [00:03] <Ignatius> "No, it was definitely Tison."
  393. [00:03] <Vanity> "They hardly look the same, Ignatius." Vanity says with a little laugh.
  394. [00:03] <Vanity> "What's this one?"
  395. [00:04] <Ignatius> "I call it the Magma Slug, some people call it Slugma."
  396. [00:05] <Vanity> "I think I fought one of those in the Rustboro Gym. It lived in the ceiling."
  397. [00:05] <Ignatius> "Hm?"
  398. [00:05] <Ignatius> "Did it look like a puddle of lava with huge eyebrows?"
  399. [00:06] <Ignatius> *flaming eyebrows
  400. [00:06] <Vanity> "Yes. While we were fighting to survive in the dojo, it came out of the ceiling and breathed poison smoke at us. For some reason, Charlemagne resisted it."
  401. [00:06] <Ignatius> "That is odd."
  402. [00:06] <Vanity> "Something else happened, too. He just... learned a move, for that battle. Ordo, too."
  403. [00:06] <Ignatius> "Extremely Odd."
  404. [00:07] <Vanity> "We have no idea how it happened, but when it was over, they were back to normal. I thought it might have something to do with the Virus, but Christina wasn't at Seaside."
  405. [00:07] <Vanity> "Do you want to chase this trail, or keep going?"
  406. [00:07] <Ignatius> "...or was she?"
  407. [00:08] <Vanity> "Hm? I mean, it's possible. She COULD have been following us."
  408. [00:08] <Ignatius> "I think we could capture this as a Gift for Tison, he has a thing for Fire Pokemon."
  409. [00:09] <Ignatius> "It probably doesn't go far, Slugma aren't that fast."
  410. [00:10] <Vanity> "I suppose we could give it a shot. It's nice enough out here, although I should have chosen a different outfit. Still, can't be too safe."
  411. [00:10] * Vanity is reminded to hydrate, and does so, sneaking a pill of her own.
  412. [00:11] <BuckBacon> You attempt to track the slug trail. It isn't that hard, but a WIS check probably wouldnt hurt
  413. [00:12] <Ignatius> 1d20 Iggy goes off slug tracking
  414. [00:12] <DiceMaid-9001> Ignatius, Iggy goes off slug tracking: 15 [1d20=15]
  415. [00:12] <Ignatius> *With heat vision
  416. [00:12] <BuckBacon> Your heat vision allows you to deftly track the heat signature of the superheated magma slug.
  417. [00:13] <Ignatius> "Now, if this one has a shell, I might be more interested in it. But you don't see them much far away from the cone."
  418. [00:13] <BuckBacon> You find the slug hanging off of a rock wall, a few meters off of the ground.
  419. [00:13] <BuckBacon> For a slug, it's pretty big. About 2 1/2 to 3 feet wide
  420. [00:14] <BuckBacon> It doesn't pay much attention to either of you
  421. [00:14] <Vanity> (Does it look like the thing that I fought at the gym?)
  422. [00:15] <BuckBacon> Yes, only a bit smaller
  423. [00:15] * Ignatius scans it. "So how do you want to go about this Vanity, I can hold it in place while Capone does his thing."
  424. [00:16] <BuckBacon> It is a few meters from the ground. It's just out of your reach.
  425. [00:16] <Vanity> "Um... I think Capone might hurt himself on that thing." She protests a little. "But I'm sure my bullets are not going to do very much."
  426. [00:17] <Ignatius> "Then lets leave it alone. It is a little hot to handle without burn heals."
  427. [00:17] <Vanity> "You never realize just how much you need your companions until you don't have them..."
  428. [00:18] <BuckBacon> Ignatius: Your scan reads "Slugma: L19. Flame Body. +2DEF"
  429. [00:18] <Vanity> As she philosophies, she watches out for other things that might jump in if she joins in the battle. "I have medicine. I'm just kind of on edge with just two of us here. The wilderness is a lot more dangerous here than it is in Rustboro."
  430. [00:19] <Ignatius> "Yeah, it was kind of hard to get to Littleroot without one of her loaners. Likewise it is kind of dangerous on the slopes without loaners."
  431. [00:20] <Vanity> 1d20+2 Oh yeah, We're trying this again. God dammit.
  432. [00:20] <DiceMaid-9001> Vanity, Oh yeah, We're trying this again. God dammit.: 7 [1d20=5]

  439. [00:21] <Ignatius> "Yeah, my mentor lent me some pokemon to train with. Mostly things you find around here."
  440. [00:21] <BuckBacon> Ignatius is finding ALL of the Pokemon today
  441. [00:21] <BuckBacon> Across the way, Ignatius sees another Pokemon chewing on a berry bush.
  442. [00:22] * Ignatius scans it.
  443. [00:22] <BuckBacon> Vanity finds NOTHING
  444. [00:22] <BuckBacon> Ignatius begins his scan
  445. [00:22] * Ignatius nudges vanity.
  446. [00:22] * Vanity , meanwhile, has all the awareness of a blonde tweenager at a Justin Bieber concert. She is almost frightened by the rude awakening from her fantasy. "Eep. Oh!" Her iPoke comes out. Scanscan.
  447. [00:23] <BuckBacon> With your powers combined...
  448. [00:23] <BuckBacon> "Numel. M. L18."
  449. [00:23] <Ignatius> "Yes, this is the one I was looking for."
  450. [00:24] <Ignatius> "Numel, the volcano camel."
  451. [00:24] <BuckBacon> The Numel absently bleats.
  452. [00:24] * Vanity shrugs her shoulders a little and limbers up. "All right. Let's do this, then, Ignatius. You hold. I'll punch."
  453. [00:25] <Vanity> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9HdJOmUzOM INITIATE BATTLE MUSIC!
  454. [00:25] <Ignatius> "Make sure you keep your distance, it shakes the earth around it quite a bit."
  455. [00:25] <Vanity> "Yeah yeah yeah. Capone, focus energy, go!"
  456. [00:25] <BuckBacon> Capone pumps his fists together

  469. [00:27] <Vanity> "
  470. [00:30] <BuckBacon> The Numel bleats in surprise, and in pain, after being burned and walloped by strangers. He was trying to get something to eat you dicks.

  488. [00:33] <Ignatius> "Darn it, I wanted to capture it."
  489. [00:34] <Vanity> "That was... anticlimactic. And kind of cruel." Vanity tells Ignatius. "Is this seriously how Benjamin wants us to catch pokemon?"
  490. [00:34] <Ignatius> "I guess so..."
  491. [00:34] <Vanity> "Hm. Well... maybe we should take it back to the pokemon center?"
  492. [00:35] <Ignatius> "I could try and wake it up with a Super Potion."
  493. [00:35] <Ignatius> "Then capture it in a luxury ball..."
  494. [00:35] <Vanity> "I feel like that would be a very bad idea. It would be injured, and you would get burned with fire in your face. If you want to risk it, though, by all means. I will stand over here in case I have to revive you."
  495. [00:35] * Vanity gestures way the fuck over there.
  496. [00:36] <Ignatius> "i'm tough. Also...I can do it from a distance."
  497. [00:36] * Ignatius floats the super potion above his hand.

  513. [00:40] <Ignatius> "I really don't like to be violent against pokemon...but at least I can tell Ben I caught a pokemon 'the right way'..."
  514. [00:40] <Vanity> "It was... enlightening."
  515. [00:40] <Ignatius> "...and this luxury ball barely makes up for the abuse..."
  516. [00:40] <Vanity> "Well, it'll grow to like you eventually. It's kind of hard not to."
  517. [00:41] <Ignatius> "...well, it doesn't, but hopefully the Numel feels better about it."
  518. [00:41] * Vanity gives his arm a gentle stroke and begins walking off toward the town, triumphant, but not yet placated. There are yet mysteries to uncover the answers to.
  519. [00:42] <Ignatius> "Before we get into town, I do want to give my Mentor a call. She probably already knows I am here, and I...neglected to give her my new number."
