  1. Dad comes home from work. Mom greets him.
  2.
  3. Dad [while taking off gear of some sort]: Is Iden home?
  4.
  5. Mom: He is out with his friend.
  6.
  7. Dad: Is it A?
  8.
  9. Mom: Yes. They’ve been spending a lot of time together after school recently
  10.
  11. Dad: That’s great. I’m glad that Iden has a close friend like that. Where are they?
  12.
  13. Mom: at the build park.
  14.
  15. Dad: oh, you can you see that from Iden’s window. Let’s go check on him
  16.
  17. They go up to Iden’s room and look through the window. You can see the build park distantly. The camera goes forward through and window and towards the build park, until settling on Iden and A waving their arms somewhat as they sculpt something in the build park in front of them.
  18.
  19. They discuss some philosophical idea (like calvin and hobbes) while in the background building some strange and interesting structure. [Need to figure out what they’re talking about. The idea is that this is meant to be a visually fun scene while showing how they connect by having them discuss a concept] At some point in this conversation, the fact that things made in the build park only last a day after they’re built if not specifically renewed is brought up. [maybe this is related to the concept they’re talking about. Maybe the topic is impermanence. A shares some personal detail he wouldn’t share with just anybody] It becomes too late for them to continue working on their thing, and it’s left unfinished. They agree to come back the next day to finish it.
  20.
  21. As Iden goes to bed that night, he looks out the window at the structure they built. He smiles, and this is the last thing before he goes to sleep.
  22.
  23. [at some point around here, Iden tells his mom that he was going to go to build part with A after school]
  24.
  25. The next day at school, Iden spends the early part of the day (before he is able to see A) thinking about the structure they made last night and trying to come up with designs for the missing piece. [This is shown via doodles or something he makes] When he finally sees A, he races up to him and says hello. A slowly turns around to face him.
  26.
  27. A (weakly): Hi Iden
  28.
  29. Iden (concerned): Hey, is everything alright?
  30.
  31. A: Yeah, I just… don’t feel up to hanging out today. Sorry Iden.
  32.
  33. Iden: ...oh
  34.
  35. A: Sorry. I just need some time to myself.
  36.
  37. Iden: I see
  38.
  39. The two awkwardly stand there for a little bit.
  40.
  41. A (walking off): Bye
  42.
  43. Iden: ...bye
  44.
  45. The next scene sees Iden walking home alone. He has an internal monologue [which I will write later and is visually represented somehow] wondering if A really meant that or if A actually just didn’t want to see Iden. He doesn’t think his friend would lie but gets worried and has his doubts. He watches the sun set and walks home. His mom greets him at the door.
  46.
  47. Mom: how was your day with A?
  48.
  49. Iden: umm… well, actually… it didn’t happen
  50.
  51. Mom: oh? Why, what happened?
  52.
  53. Iden: Well, A said that they weren’t really feeling up to it. But there’s a part of me that wonders if A actually just didn’t want to see me.
  54.
  55. Mom: why do you say that?
  56.
  57. Iden: I don’t know, just worries I guess
  58.
  59. Mom: well, you love A, don’t you?
  60.
  61. Iden: yeah
  62.
  63. Mom: and you two have really connected, right?
  64.
  65. Iden: yeah
  66.
  67. Mom: then why do you think that that connection would only be one sided?
  68.
  69. Iden: I don’t know
  70.
  71. Mom: Haven’t you two shared any moments that would prove that A loves you too?
  72.
  73. Iden thinks back/flashes back to the buildpark and the personal thing that A shared with him
  74.
  75. Iden: I guess so
  76.
  77. Mom: so then why do you think he doesn’t love you?
  78.
  79. Iden: I guess it’s just that… I didn’t feel it earlier today. If there was love there, why couldn’t I see it?
  80.
  81. Mom: Everyone expresses themselves differently. Sometimes people just need a day to themselves because they were too overwhelmed by social interaction.
  82.
  83. Iden: I guess I know that, but when I can’t see it, it’s hard to believe that the love is really there
  84.
  85. Mom: well, think about it this way. Do you know about the concept of object permanence?
  86.
  87. Iden: No
  88.
  89. Mom: Well, you know how when you close your eyes or can’t see something, you still know that the objects that were there when you closed them are still going to be there when you open them? Or that when the sun sets at night, that it will be there in the morning when it rises? That’s object permanence.
  90.
  91. [this is explained through a visual metaphor wherein a person looks around a room and the stuff that they can’t see is invisible, but then it fades in, and a shot of the sun setting and rising at high speeds]
  92.
  93. Iden: So what you’re saying is that this also applies to love?
  94.
  95. Mom: Yes, exactly!
  96.
  97. Iden: thank you, I feel a lot better
  98.
  99. Iden goes up to his room and is going to go to sleep. He looks out the window and sees the build park and the structure that he and A had made.
  100.
  101. Iden: Even if love is permenant, that isn’t and is still going to dissapear by tomorrow morning because we didn’t renew it
  102.
  103. He somberly goes to sleep
  104.
  105. When we wakes up, he starts getting ready and putting himself together. As he is about to leave his room he takes one last glance towards the window and is shocked by what he sees. He rushes over and grabs his telescope and looks out the window through it to see that the structure that he and A made at the build park was still there. He spends the rest of his morning thinking about this, wondering how it could still be there. Finally, he runs into A. This time, A greets him.
  106.
  107. A: sorry about yesterday. I was just stressed out and overwhelmed. But I was hoping that we could finish our structure today? I went and renewed it yesterday so it wouldn’t expire and we could still work on it today!
  108.
  109. Iden agrees to finish it after school. After school they go there are working on it again, just as happy as the other day. The final shot of the episode is of Iden’s mom looking through the window out at the build park, where the finished structure is. She smiles.
