  1. This morning on Demon's Souls:
  2. World Tendency has some nice goodies if you can pull it off.
  3. With my successes and follies I had achieved Pure White Tendency in both world 3 and 5. By deliberately killing myself while in body form in world 4 I had also achieved Pure Black Tendency there. Unfortunately my decision to fight Flamelurker in body form and subsequent death has left me cut off from PWWT in world 2, at least for this run.
  4. Still there was sweet loot to acquire and so I headed to 4-2 and opened a hidden wall that I'd previously missed. Slaying the Katana Bones behind it I made my way along the cliffside to probably the ugliest thing in the game. A Primordial Demon. I gave it a bop and received a Colourless Demon Soul in return. Knowing that to leave now would take me out of PBWT I made my way back towards the start of the level. Along the way where a number of additional Black Phantom Skeletons. While they did drop a goodly number of souls the threat they posed made them dubiously worth it.
  5. Shortly after I had made my way to the start of the level. And there was Black Phantom Satsuki. Standing on the wide stairway, slaughtered skeletons at my feet, I challenged him, not expecting much by this point. How wrong I was. Fast, agile and tough enough to not be a pushover the Phantom punished any mistake harshly stripping off more than 2/3rds of my health bar with any attack I let slip through. Soon he was low on health, and to my mild surprise the Phantom attempted to heal. Even at close range and reacting fast, my sword swings where simple too slow to stop him. On we battled. Twice more I brought him low only for a mouthful of grass to slip in before the fatal blow can land. Finally I slipped up one too many times and was slain.
  6. Spawning on the other side of my foe I smiled. This was a good fight. I beckoned him down and out blades clashed once more. Again and again I slashed at his phantom flesh, slowly wearing him down. Once again he slipped in a heal too fast to stop. Again I wore him down. Then, just as I moved to finish him Satsuki slipped to the side sliding his blade through a crack in my armour and into my guts. A grave wound, but survivable. I could see the rents my Moonlight blade had opened across his body, victory so close I could taste it. We swung as one, neither giving a thought to defence, eyes locked as each blade screamed towards the others neck. We fell as one and dissipated in mist green and red.
  7. My smile had only grown. Neither had any tricks left to play. There was only violence left to us. Again we clashed. I punished each foiled blow with flurries to match his cleaving precision. This time I made no mistakes. I gave him no quarter and soon he was weak. Perhaps in desperation, he lunged. With a side step I was behind him. One last thrust and the battle was done. As the last of the re mist faded I picked up the Hiltless from the ground. Another trophy for the collection.
  8. I checked my world tendency. World 1 was white leaning, but 2 places from pure. And I had 3 objectives to achieve in a white world 1. I had a plan. To 1-2 I went and the first bridge. Standing atop the burned corpses I took up my sword in both hands. As the dragon blazed past on it's attack run I swung and carved a chunk from it's tail. The dragon came back around and I swung again. Some minutes later the beast was finally done, and crashed into the valley below. I made a pass of the bridge to collect the items I had previously ignored. One such item was the Spiked Shield and I took no small delight in smacking the various former soldiers about with it. I also collected the items that had been under the red dragon's nose before.
  9. But just the dragon was no enough. I had a date with 1-3. Unique of all the worlds is 1-3 in that it is not merely a holding pen for an Arch Demon, but rather a full level in it's own right. A couple of dogs, some unimpressive soldiers and a few hilariously obvious traps later I met my first spy. While no tougher than the soldiers the did have a very nice outfit and many dropped new moon grass for me. A little later I was looking up a vast flight of stairs at a fog door. Three spear wielding Red Eye Knights barred my way. I had already bested 3 other such Knights, one with Sword and Board and to others bearing Greatswords. These three joined their fellows at speed. It was at this point that I found myself unable to pick up their drops. Checking my inventory I found that I had acquired some 99 Full Moon Grasses in my travels. Amused by the over abundance of powerful healing I headed up to the fog.
  10. And there I met the Penetrator. His weapon was long and powerful, despite its great size he kept control easily, battering away at my unprepared defences. And here I thought the fight with Satsuki was suggestive in description... Despite the supposedly impenetrable nature of my shield I was still taking damage through each block. I was unamused. Soon after I got caught in a combo and died. Twice more I challenged him only to catch his spear in the guts and be tossed across the room to my death. But by then I had his measure. I moved in with aggressive caution, punishing each opening or using the time to heal. Circling my foe I stayed out of the worst of his assaults. Channeling my fight with Flamelurker I once again fat rolled my over armoured self away from numerous deadly attacks. And then with a last three hit combo he was done. And world one moved into Pure White Tendency.
  11. I returned to 1-1 and the sidepath long kept shut. The executioner's play pen. I was found the Black Phantom Dreglings that each dropped 1 Crescent Moon Grass quite funny. Putting them and the Crystal Lizard to the sword I collected the loot and moved to the tower. With where 2 treasures, 1 of which I had longed for since the beginning of the game. But first the Executioner herself. Miralda made claims of treachery to Boletaria's King. Not being a citizen I laughed at her and took up my sword in both hands. As traded blows, steal and sword proving vastly superior to cloth and axe. Then the prizes. A Colourless Demon Soul, bizarrely attached to the corpse of an ordinary man. Wonderful but not what I had come here for. At the bottom it lay. The Brushwood Armour. The only armour in the entire game to be heavier and more protective than my Miridian Scale. Donning the set I headed into 1-2. Using a set of keys from 1-3 I freed Biorr of the Twin Fangs and acquired another key. A short jog past the entry of 1-3 and through the now unlockable door and I had reached my last objective. A lone tower. Inside where a pair of rings and a Fat Minister foolish enough to think me a compatriot because I had put on a matching hat. I gave him a good stabbing. And there was Yuria the Witch. Lovely girl, but somewhat lacking in self esteem.
  12. Now armed with a Large Sword of Moonlight +3 and armoured in the heaviest suit in the game matched with the most protective shield, I am ready.
  13. Next Time on Demon's Souls!
  14. The end of the game?!
