Remembrance - Rainbow Dash x Anon

>Rainbow dash slowly walks up the small hill.
>this hill is located just outside of Ponyville.
>atop the hill rests a lonely tree.
>she finally makes it to the top.
>she sits down next to the tree and lets out a deep sigh.
>after a moment, she speaks.
"Hi honey. Sorry I missed last week. I was busy."
>a couple seconds pass.
"Wanna know with what?"
"You wouldn't believe it, but our little filly made it into the Wonderbolts."
"Well, she's not little anymore. It's hard to believe she's all grown up."
"It didn't take her long to get accepted. I hate to admit it, but she's a better flyer than me."
"You should have been there for her initiation test, she was awesome!"
>she starts to hover slightly in the air.
"I don't think I could ever have pulled off those moves."
>she starts getting a little higher.
"She was flying all over the place, performing stunts I could only dream of!"
>her wings start beating a bit faster.
"Spins! Loop-de-loops! Backfli-OW!"
>she falls back to earth.
"Damn these old wings. That's what I get for flying so hard my whole life. Oh well, being grounded isn't so bad."
"Anyway, she was beautiful. I wish you could have seen it."
>she sits in silence for a moment.
"Oh, I have some more good news. We're going to be grandparents!"
"Our son told me his wife is expecting."
"He's going to take some time off of the guard and come visit to share the news."
"He also told me not to tell his sister. He told me 'She just became a Wonderbolt, so I don't want to steal her spotlight... yet.'"
>she holds a hoof up to her mouth and giggles.
"Those two were always competitive. Although, given who their mom is, I'm not surprised."
>a few more moments pass in silence.
"Well, I better get going now. Pinkie wants me to help with the party planning for the big announcement."
>she lets out another deep sigh.
"I miss you. I wish you were still here, but I can't help that."
"So, until it's my time, I'm going to live my life to the fullest. It's what you'd want me to do."
>she closes her eyes. A smile on her lips.
"I love you, honey, and I always will. I'll see you next week."
>a single tear runs down her cheek.
>she turns around and starts heading back to Ponyville.
>on the ground, in front of the lonely tree on the small hill, is a bronze plaque.
>on it are just a few words.
