  1. >On a late evening at home, you sit with Rainbow Dash on the couch stroking her mane when suddenly somebody knocks at the door.
  2. “I’ll get it.” You say getting up,
  3. >Opening the door, you see it’s the mailpony.
  4. >”Package for Ms. Dash, is she here?”
  5. >”Oh! Is that my book?!” Rainbow squeals before flying over and knocking you to the side,
  6. >”Just sign here, and here.” The stallion smiles before Rainbow slams the door in his face
  7. >Rushing to open it, she gasps and flaps into the air, “It is the book!”
  8. “What did you order?” You ask getting up, rubbing your bruised ass
  9. >”You remember how you tried getting me into erotica, and I hated it?”
  10. “Yeah, “50 Shades of Mane””
  11. >”Well, I ordered a book of Daring Do erotica that I think you’ll like. I thought we could read it together.”
  12. “Sure, why not.” You shrug, but let me play the parts of the bad guys,
  13. >”Cool, let me just get..”
  14. “Hold on, you gotta put on the costume.”
  15. >*sigh* “Really?”
  16. “Yes.”
  17. >”Fine.” She groans before flapping off upstairs.
  18.
  19. >After getting dressed, and on the couch, both you and Rainbow Dash huddle up as she opens the book to the first page.
  20. >”Daring Do, and The Precious Pearl. By Anonymous.”
  21. “Is this a fan made thing or what?”
  22. >”A compilation actually, this is the work of several authors, I really liked this one, so I ordered the book. Like J.K. Trotting is REALLY gonna write porn of Daring Do.”
  23. “I see.”
  24. >Clearing her throat, she continues
  25.
  26. >Daring Do hung precariously over a pit of quicksand, desperately holding on for her life.
  27. >Her bulbous stomach ready to burst begins to quiver; her worst fears are now realized. The eggs are ready to be expelled.
  28.
  29. >It all started when she entered the forgotten ruins of Dragons Cove, a desolate, miserable little stretch of land that bordered the ocean.
  30. >Spotting a large stone carving of a dragon’s face, with its mouth wide open, leading to an endless blackness, she cautiously walked in.
  31. >Carefully examining the floor, she spots a false tile,
  32. >”Heh.” She chuckles to herself proudly, many a tome, and dungeon she’s traversed, and in those travels she’s grown wise to the ways of their traps and switches.
  33. >Effortlessly, she flaps over the pressure plates, and dodges the bulking, and slow wooden beams that come swinging down.
  34. >Reaching the other side, she lands victories as all the traps crash and collide into one another. Tipping her hat with a grin, she pays her respect to the ancient adversary of old cliché traps.
  35. >Trotting along, she glances from one side to the other, careful to watch for any strange foundations, or dips. This is the more dangerous part of the journey; the obvious traps give way to more subtle and hidden ones, thanks to the lack of light, and decay.
  36. >Without warning, she steps onto a pressure plate; she flinches and looks around in every direction. Where was it coming from? What was it? Was it alive? All these thoughts raced through her as a sudden hissing catches her attention.
  37. >Looking up, a storm of falling venomous snakes come raining down.
  38.
  39. “Wouldn’t the snakes be dead by now? I mean, it’s clear the place has been abandoned.”
  40. >Rainbow growls at you, she always hated being interrupted while she’s reading.
  41. >”I didn’t write this, now be quiet, its getting good.”
  42.
  43. >”Oh you gotta be kidding me?!” She yells before dashing off forward, wings fully erect.
  44. >Looking up and forward while blasting through the ruins was much more difficult than expected, but with a brutish grace, she turned, and dodged snakes, cement beams, and old weeds.
  45. >Finally with the snakes gone, she slows down and breathes a sigh of relief.
  46.
  47. >It has been hours now, and despite not willing to acknowledge it, she is hopelessly lost. The run in with the snakes gave her little time to really observe where she went, or how to get back.
  48. >Her stomach trembles with hunger, but nowhere near as badly as her throat burns for water. Inside the humid and stuffy tomb that was carved into the rock, she wipes away the sweat from her brow.
  49. >Her ears perk up the moment she hears a familiar sound, the dripping of water into a larger puddle. It the almost pitch black darkness; she hears its familiar and constant sound. Somewhere in this black, lies a pond of water.
  50. >Every instinct she has is yelling at her find it, but her knowledge of sacred and guarded treasure tells her to be on alert.
  51. >Behind every turn and blind, there could be a trap that would end her short life. As her body cries out for water, she follows the sound slowly, looking in every possible direction.
  52. >Reaching a hallway, she notices an area of wall that’s collapsed; the sound seems to be coming from within its wide hole.
  53. >Flapping her wings, she lifts herself up and into the hole, landing, her hoofs can feel an immediate change. The stone floor is cooler, almost damp, wherever that water is, its close.
  54. >With almost zero visibility, she walks forward hearing the dripping getting louder, and louder, she sees a light blue reflection bouncing off the wall.
  55. >Her heart stops for a moment in pure anticipation, as she cautiously moves forward. Turning the corner, she sees a crystal blue lagoon, on top a small stalagmite formation that drips water into it.
  56. >With a beaming grin, she races over and faces the water; she can clearly see her reflection in the slow moving pool.
  57. >”You are quiet the looker Ms. Do.” She comments to herself fixing her hat, as she does so, a large serpent slowly crawls into view in the water.
  58. >Startled, she clenches her teeth and jumps up before taking a close look at it, she breathes out a sigh of relief.
  59. >”It’s only a seaweed dragon.” She sighs before chuckling as the 8 foot serpent begins to gobble up some seaweed “Get a grip.”
  60. >Resting her body down, she brings her face closer to the water to drink, before her lips can touch the surface, she stops “Wait a minute, that’s a seaweed dragon, what’s it doing here in fresh water?”
  61. >Looking at the water, she can see the sandy floor, yet the water has no smell of salt, curious, she takes a small sip and tastes it.
  62. >Nothing, no trace of salt, no bitter aftertaste, just cool, refreshing water.
  63. >”This doesn’t make any sense, how can this water be good to drink, but house saltwater fish? Unless…”
  64. >Watching the serpent as it slithers into a hole; she thinks back about her time in the village nearby. She had heard stories of a pearl, that could make the water drinkable for all creatures, but it lay guarded by a fierce creature of the sea.
  65. >”Could this be where the pearl is hidden?” She asks herself, getting up; she looks over the water a moment. Getting her lungs warmed up, she takes a deep breath and dives into the water.
  66. >Swimming, she pushes herself forward and into pathway the serpent took, at its entrance, she sees a long dark tunnel, with light at the end of it.
  67. >Feeling confident in herself, she ventures forward. The cool water neither stings, nor burns as she continues to move forward.
  68.
  69. >Reaching the end, she instantly floats upward and breaches the water, gasping, she paddles for the closes land.
  70. >Picking herself up, she looks from one side to another. She’s in a large, isolated chamber, with a small island in the middle of the water.
  71. >In its center, is a pedestal of some kind, its faint, but she can see a bright white orb,
  72. >“The pearl.” She whispers, looking around, she steps forward onto the edge of the water, seeing no traps or any obvious markings, she flaps over to the small island.
  73. >Landing, the floor feels almost sponge like, but it has a firm hold. Walking up to the pearl, she eyes its round and reflective shape.
  74. >Grasping it with both hooves, she gives it a slight tug, as she does, the pearl is dislodged, but an explosion of water occurs on the border of the island. Strange gelatinous creatures pull themselves out of the water, from all sides; they shuffle their large quivering masses towards her.
  75. >Instantly she lifts herself up and into the air, smiling as she knows she has the advantage over them. While flying over, they swing their large tentacle like appendages at her, despite not hitting her, she feels a prickle against her haunch and wings.
  76. >Her body begins to cramp, and wings spasm out of control, losing altitude, she crash lands, just inches away from the water.
  77. >Her whole body trembles as she tries to move it, but nothing, her body is becoming more and more unresponsive.
  78. >She can hear the sounds of the creatures drawing near, feeling a cold, slimy appendage wrap itself around her legs, her body is dragged back and onto the large squishy creature.
  79. >Fitted into a small dip in its body, her body is turned on her belly, and legs spread apart and secured down while her tail is picked up.
  80. >At this point she prays that they eat her.
