Kamijou punched away a cross walling him. But he could get only the one. Meanwhile,
the tip of the other cross hit him like a boulder, sending him hurtling back.
The sound of impact echoed.

He was immediately slammed down and slid a few meters away. He scrambled to
quickly put his hand on the ground, but the ice floor reacted to the movement. It carved
out a cube, and Kamijou fell down to the passage on the level below.
The entire ship’s interior was made of ice, so nothing was there to cushion his fall. He
clenched his teeth, enduring the pain from his entire body, and then—more carefully
this time—he pushed himself up with his left hand and got to his feet.
