- Everything you want to know about Bowser Door manipulation (and everything you didn't want to know).
- Tools needed that are referenced explicitly:
- Bowser Door combinations on RNG counter 0-6000.
- The earliest frame you can hit from a save box is 194 (column C), but 0-193 are included for completeness.
- A LUA script that pulls the RNG counter. Ask me if you want to do your own exploration.
- Current any % Bowser Door manipulation (Japanese): see frames 2776-2782 in column O.
- Current any % Bowser Door manipulation (English): see frames 194-196 in column C.
- The goal is to find a Bowser Door manipulation that is able to:
- 1) Have a fewer percentage of non-wrong warp frames than current methods (currently 85.71%)
- 2) Have a larger frame window than current methods (current 7 frames)
- 3) Be in an earlier frame window than current methods (or at least take less time in the case of English) [currently 2776-2782]
- 4) Have a simpler flow chart. (currently there are 6 different paths).
- With that, we're able to start outlining some different windows that I have found that meet multiple criteria that have been posted above.
- It should be noted that in some strats I changed the movement in rooms 1 and 2.
- If you walk left instead of left, up left in room 1, you lose 9 frames.
- If you walk left instead of left, down left in room 2, you lose 13 frames.
- So, to hit earlier windows, I regained those 22 frames. Obviously this takes away some consistency because it is open to interpretation how quickly to cut each corner, but for a 2.5 second save... I think we'll figure it out.
- JAPANESE:
- Method 1: Frame window is 2634-2638. Time save: 138-148 frames
- Flow Chart:
- Go Door 1 first.
- If coin, 5 (quiz), 3 (action),2 (action)
- If quiz, 3 (coin) ,4 (action) ,2 (action)
- 1) Have a fewer percentage of non-wrong warp frames than current methods (currently 85.71%) - 100% - YES!
- 2) Have a larger frame window than current methods (current 7 frames) - 5 frames - NO
- 3) Be in an earlier frame window than current methods (or at least take less time in the case of English) [currently 2776-2782] - YES, YES, YES!
- 4) Have a simpler flow chart. (currently there are 6 different paths) - 2 paths- YES.
- Currently I am still in the processing of creating an in-depth guide, but here is me getting the window. This should be enough information to go on.

- a. If Door 2 = Coin
- i. Door 4
- x. Door 4 = I then, 1,6

- i. Door 5, then door 3
- x. If door 3 = I, door 1
- y. If door 3 = P, door 6
- c. If Door 2 = Platform, then door 1,6,5 -RNG frame
- d. If Door 2 = Invisible, then door 3,5,1

- 4) Have a simpler flow chart. (currently there are 6 different paths) - NO
- Method 3: Last 8 frames of Method 1. Frame window is 2700-2707. Time Save: 69-82 frames
- Flow Chart - first half of above flow chart

- 2) Have a larger frame window than current methods (current 7 frames) - 8 frames - YES
- 3) Be in an earlier frame window than current methods (or at least take less time in the case of English) [currently 2776-2782] - YES
- 4) Have a simpler flow chart. (currently there are 6 different paths) - 6 paths - PUSH

- ENGLISH:
- Current method: Mario's Pad Manipulation. If currently done on Japanese, it is said to lose 16 seconds. So, I am assuming that there was an otherwise equivalent nimbus manip strat on English at the exact same cue, you would also lose 16 seconds. Hence, in order for a strat to be "worth", it would need to be found no later than 2770 + 960 (16 seconds) = frame 3730.
- ****Method 1: Frame window is 3064 - 3068. Using assumption, this would mean that it is about 665 frames faster. Which is approximately an 11 second time save.
- Flow chart: 2,5,6,3. That's it.
- No video exists, but I have earliest frame and latest frame
- Earliest: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1AZ1UayhHPwGHeGZdRi4xx4yahRp1fjZx/view?usp=sharing
- Latest : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uB6eBv_cbgHxYESiehMWqk1eFpVBz7MC/view?usp=sharing
- Method 2: Frame window is 3589 - 3593. Using assumption, this would mean that it is about 140 frames faster.
- Flow chart: 2,6,5,4. There is no flow chart.
- Video of this being done: https://drive.google.com/file/d/13WSydqSNGDg03N_b0GqZCitaVUDi9kwr/view
- Apologies for the quality of the video, please use it as a resource to the best of your ability.
- END ENGLISH
- There could be earlier windows on either version. Maybe you'll be the one to find it!
