—ABOUT

PERSONALITY : generally, mei is a nice and kind person, and isn’t usually angered. she seems to have an unlimited patience, and not many people can say that they’ve seen her lose her cool. she is the baby of the group, but actually enjoys the attention being the maknae brings her, as she likes it when her group members fuss over her. she is also known to be a bit dense, and extremely naive sometimes, which people find cute. however, mei does not like being called dense by people, and it hurst her more than people would think. she is aware that she is sometimes very slow when it comes to jokes, and she is often the member that stares blankly when a joke is told, only to laugh five minutes later when she finally figures out the joke, but she hates being called dense by fans, even if they think it’s cute. she doesn’t often show it, but she is actually quite fascinated by her power to manipulate objects, which internally makes her even more anxious about the lack of control she has over her power, which brings her to practice it to gain a bit of control over it, even though she isn’t very successful at this. she doesn’t like being alone when she does it, an usually drags someone else along with her. she likes to talk a lot, but people mistake her for being quiet, mostly due to the fact that she struggles a lot with the korean language, not being native to the country. she only started learning korean when she was fourteen, but she often stumbles on her pronunciation, which is why she doesn’t talk as much on stage or on camera, but instead makes up for it with her aegyo. however, she does talk slightly more with people she’s comfortable around. despite not talking much, she is still a bright and happy person, and she is rarely seen without a smile on her face, but this is mostly because she doesn’t want to think about what could happen if she loses control of her powers. however, like her ability to manipulate objects, she is also good at manipulating people to do things for her, because she is very good at using her aegyo as a weapon to get what she wants.


BACKGROUND : mei was born in hong kong, china, to a pair of astronomers. her parents had not been expecting a child, but they were happy to find out that mei was to be born. due to her parents she was brought up learning a lot about the different stars and constellations, which also triggered her interest in roman mythology. she grew up speaking both cantonese and english, often mixing both into her sentences. mei’s parents were both very eccentric, and had often believed in aliens, which was why they were extremely fascinated when their daughter starting showing these weird powers. however, when mei reached her teenage years, her powers became more unstable, and she struggled to gain control over them, which made her parents worry about it. they later heard about the “company” in korea, and sent mei their shortly after she turned fourteen, in hope that it would help her learn more control. at first, mei absolutely hated it, because she saw it as her parents sending her away because they were scared of her. this mindset led to her not being able to gain control as quickly as people expected, keeping her in the company for longer. it wasn’t until she starting training with the other members did she realise that she had to gain control for her own sake, but it was harder than she thought. after seeing what they all went through, she took it upon herself to try and be optimistic about it, even though she was the youngest, and tried to brighten the mood (which was easier than she thought because they found her broken korean at the time cute).

HOW THEY ACT AROUND YOU : he’s kind of wary of her at first, because he doesn’t know her that well, just that she's a rookie who only debuted recently. however, he finds her cute, especially her korean that still needs improvement. he's still his slightly cocky self, and often tries to act indifferent about his feelings, (especially when it comes to his own group members who enjoy teasing him about it). He has a soft spot for her (and her aegyo) but he won’t ever admit it to anyone, no matter how much they pester him.

HOW YOU ACT AROUND THEM : she’s her normal quiet yet bubbly self, but she has some sort of attachment towards him, which makes her want to be near him. because of this, she tries to talk more round him so he won’t think she’s boring, even though she can be really self conscious of her korean. deep down she’s terrified that she’ll hurt him or something because of her lack of control. however, she enjoys his company far to much to just stop hanging around him, even though she refuses to admit to herself that she has a crush on him.

FIRST REACTION/THOUGHTS TO EACH OTHER : mei just thought he was really good looking (not that she told anyone this). her thoughts were something along the lines of "he's hot, i want to be his friend." he was sort of wary around her at first, which was why she had to try harder, even though her korean wasn’t the best. he found her slightly annoying (and sort of cute, but he won’t admit it to anyone). his first thoughts were something like "who is this really cute blonde and why is she talking to me."
