A Date with Yagyuu

It was time. Anon had been waiting for this day all week. He had finally managed to convince Yagyuu to go out on a day with him, usually she would push him away, berate him for asking or simply say nothing to him while going about her business, but finally she had decided that she would humor him this one time. After all, in Yagyuu's mind, Anon was a bumbling oaf, who spent way too much time joking around with Katsuragi to be any sort of charmer at all.

That attitude changed when Yagyuu arrived for her date, seeing Anon wearing an actual decent outfit instead of the usual day to day wear he would normally be seen with. Though her face remained stony, Yagyuu's left eye went somewhat wide, a subtle indicator at her surprise.

"Hey there, Yagyuu. I uh...I hope you have a good time tonight." Anon said in a far more gentlemanly tone than he would normally speak, the action had actually caught Yagyuu off guard somewhat.

"We'll see." Yagyuu muttered, it was the best she could say without sounding surprised. If she showed any form of weakness, then Anon would probably start trying to make jokes again...and his puns were terrible, so him not doing them for once was something she was eternally grateful for. "What are we doing first?"

"Well there's this new horror movie playing, I'd thought we'd go see it, it's called Saturday the 26th." Anon stated

Yagyuu's face instantly went pale. A-a horror movie? Why THAT kind of movie of all things? Years of her ninja training had allowed her to keep a cool outward appearance, but on the inside, Yagyuu was having a mental freak out.

"Are you okay Yagyuu...?" Anon asked

"Yes...I am fine. Let's go."

'This'll be easy' Yagyuu thought 'It's just a silly horror movie, it's not real. None of that blood or crude dismemberment is real.' She continued telling herself this, using it as a means to help calm herself down. By the time the two had arrived at the movie theater, Yagyuu was pumped, though it barely showed on her face. She was determined to survive this movie, she looked at how long the movie was running and smirked slightly. She'd show Anon (and herself) that she could handle all 95 minutes of Saturday the 26th!

"U-uuuuuuuu" Yagyuu whimpered to herself as she wiped tears from her eye. She was sitting down on the floor in a huddled mess, crying her eyes out from the movie

"It's okay Yagyuu, it's alright!" Anon said trying to soothe the upset girl. She had lasted all of 3 minutes as the opening text crawl had a murder happen. It was too much for Yagyuu and she let out a squeal before leaning into Anon's shoulder and whimpering while she trembled. Any other time Anon would have done the whole 'put your arm around the girl to comfort her thing, but Yagyuu was genuinely terrified and so he opted to take her outside the theater.

"I'm really sorry Yagyuu, I didn't mean to freak you out like that." Anon said rubbing her back for comfort "Come on, lets get you something to drink."

He helped the white-haired girl to her feet and heading out of the movie theater, the two stopped by a small convenience store with Anon buying Yagyuu a bottle of iced tea to calm her down. He opted to not buy anything in the movie theater due to their prices being too high, he'd rather ride it out than spend so much for some popcorn and a drink. As the two stood outside, Yagyuu finished up the rest of her tea with a sigh, looking at Anon who still had concern plastered all over his face.

"I am...sorry Anon." Yagyuu stated solemnly

"Huh...? What do you mean Yagyuu?" Anon asked confused

"My miserable display within the movie theater. That was something you should not have had to see, let alone put up with. It was humiliating and shameful display."

"It's okay Yagyuu, it's not your fault. I promise I won't take you to see a horror movie ever again...uh, I mean, if we do...this again. Come on, let's get out of here and grab some food. I know a nice restaurant we can go to."

Yagyuu let out a small nod and followed Anon, she wasn't aware, but she was still pretty close to him, holding his hand, she was trembling slightly indicating that she was still spooked, but nowhere near as bad as when she'd been in the theater. The two arrived at a moderately fancy looking restaurant. It wasn't high end, but it certainly gave off a bit of a regal atmosphere, What really surprised Yagyuu throughout this though was that Anon was on his best behavior, he pulled out Yagyuu's chair for her, he made decent conversation, showing more interest in her than himself and to top things off, he even paid for the entire meal.

'He's...actually not so bad.' Yagyuu thought as the two left the restaurant, both equally full from gorging themselves on steak and sushi among whatever else was on the menu.

"You...didn't have to pay for all that." Yagyuu mumbled as Anon walked her back home

"Of course I did. Yagyuu, I've been pestering you for a date for months, I couldn't live with myself I forced you to spend a cent on anything." Anon said resolutely "Besides, I don't really spend my money on much...never really had anything it was worth spending big on."

"And I'm worth that...?"

"That and more." Anon said with a smile

Yagyuu's heart actually skipped at that as she blushed a bit 'What...no, I can't actually...no Yagyuu, don't let him get to you like that.' she thought

"Well, here we are." Anon said as the two were right in front of Yagyuu's door. "I'm really glad you let me take you out Yagyuu...and I'm really sorry about that movie thing."

"It is fine...you can make it up to me."

"How...?" Anon asked, eyebrows raised

"Next weekend, downtown, 5 o clock. There are some umbrellas I've had my eye on. Don't be late." She said retreating into her home and closing the door on him.

"Wait..." he muttered "Did I just score a second date with Yagyuu?" Anon muttered to himself before smiling at the realization. On the other side of the door, Yagyuu had a surprisingly girlish smile on her face. She would never say it outright, but she was looking forward to going on another date with Anon.
