  1. >Is a stormy day, and you are inside a huge forest
  2. >As thunder and cold wind hits and moves the trees around, you are running trying to seek shelter
  3. >The storm doesn't look that it will get better. If anything, it looks it will get worse
  4. >But luck hasn't abandoned you yet! A house can be seen from afar!
  5. >You run towards it, but you notice it isn't in the best condition, and wonder if the house is scarier than the outside
  6. >The roaring of the wind and lighting settles your mind though: it's better to be inside a small spot rather than face the rain alone
  7. >You open the door with one shove, and close it just as fast
  8. >You shake up most of the water on you, and start looking around your surroundings
  9. >Generic old spooky home: spider webs, dust everywhere, a creepy stairwell taking you to the upper floor, unlight candles
  10. >Hmmm, maybe you'll find a Ghost pokemon or some loot
  11. >When you try to move forward, you feel something pulling your shirt
  12. >"You...."
  13. >Fear finally sets up, and you shiver up as you look behind
  14. >Pale skin, shining bright as the covered moon, only a wide smile showing teeth
  15. >"You are the one."
  16. >A loud thunder spooks you, screaming and trying to run from the weird shape
  17. >But your escape failed; you tripped and passed out
  18.
  19. >"...."
  20. >"....ke u...."
  21. >"...se wak..... up....."
  22. >"Please! Wake up!"
  23. "Uah!!!"
  24. >You rise up quickly. The monster can be close!
  25. >You try to gather faster, but everything is still wobbly
  26. >Your body betrays you again, but this time you managed to just kneel
  27. >You rise your view, to find the weird shape
  28. >You cannot outrun it. Whatever that is, is the last thing you'll see
  29. >"Um.... are you alright?"
  30. >Your eyes start to adjust to the darkness
  31. >The wobbly shape starts to show texture, shades, and colors. It's a person, a girl to be precise
  32. >You look at her clothing: one long dark purple dress. Her hair is a mess, and her eyes, while penetrating and intimidating, show kindness and mercy
  33. >A Hex Maniac
  34. "Eh, yeah, I'm fine."
  35. >The girl sighs in relief
  36. >"Sorry if I scared you. I though you were someone else."
  37. >You rise from the floor
  38. "Someone else? Who? Nobody would come to this area of the forest. Not unprepared, at least."
  39. >She is just in her bag now, reading a very weathered book
  40. "Having mentioning that, what are you doing here? I didn't even knew there was a house here."
  41. >She is still stuck in her book
  42. >You cough a bit louder, it worked
  43. >"Huh?"
  44.
  45. "Sorry for interrumping you, but why are you here?"
  46. >She puts away the book
  47. >"Um... is just... I was trying to..."
  48. >You raise one eyebrow, faking interest
  49. >"I wanted to call a friend."
  50. "Call a friend? You dont have a Pokenav or a Rotomcell? A Pokegear at least."
  51. >She blushes and avoids your gaze
  52. "Look, if you need a phone, here's mine. Maybe you can-"
  53. >No signal
  54. "Forget about it, it doesn't work now. I can't even use my map."
  55. >You two end in silence, only the rain hitting the old wood of the manor.
  56. "... When this mansion showed up? I never heard there was a building around this forest."
  57. >"Oh, is just hidden. Look."
  58. >The Hex shows you an old map
  59. >"My book said there was an abandones place in the forest. It is said that many came to this place, and their dreams became true."
  60. "Sounds very... convenient."
  61. >"How so?"
  62. "Well, truth be told: I came to this forest for a couple of bug pokemon. The next gym uses Psychic types, and I wanted to have the advantage. But then it started raining, so I had to hide somewhere. Personally, I was hoping for a cave, not a big manor."
  63. >"Ah."
  64. "And you came to call a friend?"
  65. >She blushes again
  66. >"Not exactly."
  67. "Why?"
  68.
  69. "It's... I don't have friends."
  70. >Oh no, time for personal baggage
  71. >"I never had friends... everybody looks at me scared or creeped out, or they say I smell like dirt and ash. It's not ash, is incense!"
  72. "Is fine, is fine. I like incenses too."
  73. >She looks at you with a glint in her eyes
  74. >"Y-YOU DO?!"
  75. "Calm down, only to get a few special eggs."
  76. >"But you use them..."
  77. >She starts to come close to you, a very unnerving grin on her face
  78. >"... friend."
  79. "Eh, no, I think..."
  80. >"Yes... friend..."
  81. >She pulls out her book again, flips a few pages, and reads aloud
  82. >"[Those who come to the insides of the abandoned manor will have their wish granted]; and you came here... is faith..."
  83. >Now she is very close to you, and you can assure her eyes are spinning hypnotically
  84. >"You are The One. You are The Friend. MY FRIEEEEEEEND...."
  85. >You manage to gather your senses, and push her away. You touch her forehead with your index and push her softly
  86. "Woah, calm down, this was just only a coincidence, I was just around the forest, and it was raining. You only happened to be here, ok?"
  87. >She is ignoring you, patting the place you touched
  88. >"Uhuhu, I got a friend, my friend touched me, we are friends..."
  89. "Eh... yeah. I'll check this place anyway, looks like the rain won't stop soon. You can stay here and do... whatever."
  90. >"Huh, but this place is big, will you be fine alone?"
  91. "I have my team, and I can deal with Ghost types just fine."
  92. >*BROOOOOOM!!!!!*
  93. "..."
  94. >"..."
  95. "Considering deeply our situation, I can use an ally. You should follow me, just to make sure you are fine."
  96. >If you were playing triple triad, you could be a regional champion with your poker face. Truth be told, you are shitting enough bricks to rebuild ORRE from the ground up
  97. >"Yay! Travelling with my friend!"
  98.
  99. >The noise of the storm is barely muffled inside these walls, and the darkness surrounding the place doesn't help a lot
  100. >You don't even have a pokemon to use Flash. And even if you did, you don't have the TM
  101. >Who was the guy who removed the HMs? It was a bad idea!
  102. >At least you aren't alone. You are accompanied by a Hex Maniac
  103. >She is just rubbing her face on your left arm, as she clings to it
  104. >Cute, but a bit annoying
  105. "Not to ruin your fun, but can you let go off my arm?"
  106. >"No! You are my friend, and you will be mine forever..."
  107. "It's just that-"
  108. >The moment you look at her, she looks straight at your eyes, with her hypnotic gaze
  109. >"F-O-R-E-V-E-R"
  110. "Just relax, ok? It's not like I can run somewhere."
  111. >You pat her head. Looks like that was enough to let your arm go, touching the area you touched before
  112. "You really have no friends? Not even family?"
  113. >"My younger sister used to live with me, but then she returned home with our parents."
  114. "Oh yeah?"
  115. >"Yes. They said they didn't liked I was teaching her hexes and enchanments."
  116. "Unless she wants to be a Hex like you, I don't think she will have much use for those things. Does she use a type in specific?"
  117. >"She likes Fairy types."
  118. "Good, good. Cute, strong, keep Dragons at bay. She will be fine with them."
  119. >"But, are Ghosts that bad?"
  120. >She looks gloom at your opinion
  121. "No! No, I mean, Ghosts are fine. I mean, the Ghastly line would be a gamble in the gym I will go, but with Dark moves, I bet I can win easily. Ghost types are very bulky, and can handle attacks."
  122. >Hex looks a bit happier
  123.
  124. >You two have been walking around the big manor. Sadly, there wasn't much to find
  125. >A few color pieces, one strange plate, and one Magmarizer
  126. >Can be useful for your Magmar, but nothing of big value after that
  127. >To top it all off, it's night already, and the rain hasn't stopped, so going out is a no
  128. >"Hmmmm~~~! My first sleepover with my friend!"
  129. "Uhh... I think it's too... spontaneous. Why don't we find a room? There must a bed somewhere"
  130. >"And will you sleep with me?!"
  131. >Did she just sound desperate?
  132. "Not exactly, I bet I can find another room, no prob-"
  133. >"NO! Let's be together TONIGHT. WE'LL DO A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G..."
  134. >Tempting offer, but you know better. You must catch pokemon, not chicks (for now, those things will come alone when you become a Champion)
  135. >Also, you remember the professor's advice: Not Inside Crazies
  136. "Ehh... let's just look for a room first and then we'll see."
  137. >"IHIHIHIHIHI!!!"
  138. >Oh man, how are you going to escape of this one? For all you know, she probably will corrupt your soul, or use you to lure phantasms
  139. >As you walk throught the empty hallways, you find one door at the end. The room is very dark, but you can see curtains close
  140. "Hmm, let's get these out."
  141. >You move the curtains, and the dim nocturnal allowed you to see the roof of the room: filled with Golbats!
  142. >In a quickly reaction, you hug your companion
  143. *Whispering* "Hex! Hey! We got to-"
  144. >Like a Tamato Berry about to explode, her skin is bright red, and her eyes are spinning like crazy
  145. "Hey, don't you-"
  146. >"AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! MY FRIEND HUGGED MEEEEEEEEEE!!!"
  147. >*BROOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!!!*
  148. >The Golbats wake up with all the noise, and you run as far as you can
  149. >After a while, you notice Hex isn't with you
  150. "Oh no, Hex!"
  151. >"AAAHHHH!!"
  152. "Hold on Hex, I'm coming!"
  153. >You hear the cries of Golbats close
  154. >You grab your pokeballs
  155. "Come on team, we have a girl to save!"
  156.
  157. >Everybody hates Golbat swarms, and this isn't any different
  158. >Your pokemons trash through every Golbat coming your way
  159. >But sadly, you can't find Hex in the many rooms you entered, and most are fainted
  160. >It's just you and Magmar now
  161. >Only one room is left, and the room is closed
  162. >You don't have time for that
  163. >"Magmar! Fire Blast!"
  164. >Your Magmar blasts the door away
  165. >Inside, there's only one Pokemon: a Crobat
  166. "What?! But they only evolve with high friendship! Unless...."
  167. >You realize as the Crobat quickly goes for you: he's the leader of the pack
  168. >Your Magmar jumps in time just to protect you from his Wing Attack
  169. >It was the last thing he could do. He finally faints, and you no longer have any usable pokemons
  170. >The Crobat shows an ominous smile, and his fangs leak a purple slime
  171. >Poison Fang
  172. >He screeches loudly as he flies straight at you, completely helpless
  173. "Ah! Help me!"
  174. >*BOOOOOOOM!!!!*
  175. >A blast of dark energy stopped his strike
  176. >You look behind you, it's Hex!
  177. "Ah! Hex Maniac!"
  178. >"Nobody touches my friend, ONLY ME....."
  179. >She rises her right hand, pointing at the Crobat
  180. >"Haunter: Hypnosis"
  181. >A big shadow comes up behind her, whispering an eerie screech
  182. >Yellow waves of energy hits the Crobat, making him sleep instantly
  183. >Hex snaps her fingers
  184. >"Dream Eater."
  185. >The shadow goes all the way to the Crobat, engulfing it instantly. After a moment, the shadow leaves the body, fainted at last.
  186. >You are silent, seeing the cold display of power; Hex looks at you
  187. >"We must go now."
  188. >You only nod, following her outside the abandoned mansion
  189.
  190. >Looks like your adventure took all night, because the sun is rising and the storm is gone
  191. >You two leave the mansion behind, walking all the way to the safest road
  192. >With no more pokemon and monsters attacking, you set up your camp and heal your friends
  193. "Hex, I have to ask: where were you? I am sure I investigated the entire place before you saved me."
  194. >"Well, I was still shocked when you-"
  195. >She remains silent
  196. "When I...?"
  197. >"Y-y-yo-yo-youuuuuu.... h-h-h-hu...."
  198. "When I grabbed you, got it."
  199. >Her face turns completely red, and hides behind her hair
  200. "After that, what happened? I ran from the Golbats, and then I searched for you when I noticed you weren't with me."
  201. >"I... I was dazzled, so I walked until I somehow stepped outside. The rain made me notice I was alone."
  202. >Rain? You look at her clothes closely, and notice her clothes are completely drenched
  203. >You grab your backpack, and give her a towel
  204. "I don't have a set of clothes, but you can dry yourself with this."
  205. >She smiles, and yanks the towel out of your hands. After that, she stands up and runs to the tent
  206. "Okaaaaaaay.... How you feeling, Mag?"
  207. >"Mar...."
  208. "Alright, just let me finish with these hits, and I'll make something to eat, alright?"
  209. >"Magmar."
  210. "Good to know."
  211.
  212. >With your team mostly recovered, you pull out the little stove, turn it on, and make some curry
  213. >When you are done, you serve the meal to your team, and go for Hex. She didn't dried herself, she only stayed inside, hugging the towel
  214. >You only call out to her, and prepare her plate
  215. >She comes to you after a bit
  216. "Come, sit down. This is for you."
  217. >You pass her a plate with Curry
  218. >"Thanks."
  219. "No, thank you. If it wasn't for you, maybe now I would be a Crobat's meal."
  220. >"Ehehehe, I saved my friend! I'm a good friend!"
  221. "Yes you are Hex.... say, what's your name? You haven't told me."
  222. >"My name?! I-I..."
  223. "Calm down, I only asked for your name. Mine is Anonymous."
  224. >"... Emily"
  225. "You have a cute name, Emily."
  226. >She giggles to herself, happy knowing her friend call her cute
  227. >You look at her Haunter as well
  228. "You also have a strong pokemon. Where did you even got a Haunter?"
  229. >"He was my Ghastly. I got him when I visited the graveyard for the first time. We've been together ever since."
  230. "You surely trained him. He got that Crobat in one hit."
  231. >"What about your pokemons?"
  232. "They are good, but Magmar is the best. I got him as a Magby when I was visiting the Seevi Islands with my family."
  233.
  234. >"You have been in Kanto?"
  235. "When I was a kid. My family comes from Unova actually, but one summer we travelled for vacationing. We were visiting Lorelei's house to see her doll collection, but a couple outside had an egg, so my parents took it. Magby was my first pokemon."
  236. >"Just like me and Ghastly."
  237. "Yup, my first pokemon and friend."
  238. >"Wasn't I your first friend?"
  239. >She looks down now
  240. "Uh, I mean, first pokemon friend. You are, like, my first human friend."
  241. >Her smile almost absobs her entire face
  242. "FRIENDS! WE ARE FIRST FRIENDS! TOGETHER, FOREVER!!!!!"
  243. >She sure has lungs and spirit to spare
  244. >"And what do you want to do first, friend?"
  245. "Oh, well, I was planning to go back into the forest since I haven't caught any bug pokemon. But if I had a Haunter like yours, I bet I could kick the Psychic Leader's butt in record time."
  246. >"Wanna trade?!"
  247. >Woah, that was quick. She didn't even though about a lease.
  248. "Well, I don't know, I mean, it's too sudden and I don't think I have a pokemon to trade."
  249. >You look at your team, the only good trade is Magmar.
  250. "Maybe him, but he has been my best friend."
  251. >"Oh, but if we trade I promise I'll take care of him."
  252. "I'm not sure..."
  253.
  254. >You see Magmar coming close to you
  255. "Eh? You sure dude?"
  256. >"Magmar."
  257. "For a friend?... Alright, but have this."
  258. >You give him the Magmarizer
  259. "I heard your type like those, so you can keep it to remember me, alright?"
  260. >"Magmar!"
  261. "Good. See you soon, Magmar."
  262. >You return his to his pokeball, and look at Emily
  263. "Ready?"
  264. >"Ready!"
  265. >You two connect your link cables, and swap pokemon
  266. >You sent Magmar for Haunter, but when you got the ball, it started to shake
  267. >Haunter pops up from the ball, and evolves. You got a Gengar!
  268. "Awesome!"
  269. >"Uah! Too hot!"
  270. >You look at Emily. Looks like the same thing is happening to her.
  271. >Magmar pops up with a big blast of energy. He fused with the Magmarizer, evolving into a Magmortar!
  272. >"MAGMORTAAAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!"
  273. >"Ah! A big friend!"
  274. >Emily hugs him instantly
  275. >"My friend gave me a big friend! He is mine forever, and I will love him as much as I love my friend!"
  276. >"Your" Magmortar surely loves the attention
  277. "Looks like you are popular already. Take care of her, alright?"
  278. >"Mortar!"
  279.
  280. "Well, I guess that's that. I'll be leaving for the gym then."
  281. >"Wait! After you do that, can we see each other in the next town please?"
  282. "Uh, sure. But why not follow me now?"
  283. >"I have to buy farm supplies now, and I have a Miltank to take care. You must taste her milk!"
  284. >So much trouble for one MooMoo Milk? But then again, Miltanks require a lot of attention
  285. "Fine, I'll get the badge, and we will see in the next town."
  286. >"Promise!"
  287. "I'll promise, don't worry."
  288. >"Yay! See Magmortar? We will see anon again!"
  289. >With a few more sentences, both finally say goodbye, and part ways
  290. "She isn't so bad.... so, Gengar, ready to win that badge?"
  291. >He looks at you, and turns around
  292. "Eh? C'mon buddy, aren't you going to help me?"
  293. >"Gengar..."
  294. "Well, we swapped pokemon, so...."
  295. >"Gar! Gengar!"
  296. "Wait, what?"
  297. >You check Gengar's data, and find out he not only is powerful, you will need 4 badges more before he even tries to listen to you!
  298. "... Could you at least help me until we see Emily again?"
  299. >He thinks for a bit, before licking your face, paralizing you
  300. "Ugh.... why me?"
