  1. Nurse Redheart removed the thermometer from Sweetie Belle's mouth.
  2.
  3. “You have a small temperature, but nothing some rest can't solve.”
  4.
  5. Sweetie Belle sniffs and mucus slowly rolls out her left nostril. Nurse Redheart presses a tissue to Sweetie Belle's nose.
  6.
  7. “Blow.”
  8.
  9. Sweetie Belle blows into the tissue.
  10.
  11. “So go ahead and take a lollypop and get out of here. Your sister is waiting out in the hall way. I can tell her or you can tell her there is nothing to worry about. You just have a common cold.” Nurse Redheart smiles and pats Sweetie Belle's head.
  12.
  13. Sweetie Belle curtsey's and thanks her as she runs out of the room.
  14.
  15. Nurse Redheart washes her hooves then sits down at her work desk. It had been a long day of seeing patients, and it was only noon. She lifted her hat and wiped her mane, then fanned herself with her hat.
  16. Suddenly a creak was heard behind her, and she quickly put her hat back on and looked back.
  17.
  18. “Hello, nurse.”
  19.
  20. “Oh it's you.” Nurse Redheart said as she took off her hat again and began to fan herself.
  21.
  22. “That's not the kind of enthusiastic response I was expecting. I brought you something.” Said a stallion.
  23.
  24. She raised an eyebrow and watched the stallion walk in.
  25.
  26. “I brought you lunch.”
  27.
  28. He set a tray down with a salad and some bread, with a picture of lemonade.
  29.
  30. “I thought you would be hungry . . . “
  31.
  32. Nurse Redheart interrupts him, “You know it is not my lunch time now, Canyon Frost.”
  33.
  34. He looks down.
  35.
  36. “Besides I could have another patient come in any minute.” Nurse Redheart looks at her forlorn admirer.
  37.
  38. “But thank you. Take a seat, we can have a little break.”
  39.
  40. He quickly livens up and pulls up a chair beside her.
  41.
  42. “I got the ingredients fresh from my garden. I picked these tomatoes from that plant you said looked delicious. The tomatoes on it finally grew into these.” Canyon Frost pushes a plate to her. “As well, I got some freshly ground pepper and a light vinegar for extra flavor.”
  43.
  44. Nurse Redheart wasn't married, and had been dating Canyon Frost for awhile. He wasn't in the medical profession, but was actually a park ranger. Their schedules permitted very little time together, so he stopped by when he could, and she would sometimes visit him when she could. She liked him a lot, and she knew he liked her maybe even more. Nurse Redheart just wasn't sure if she wanted a committed relationship yet.
  45.
  46. “This all looks lovely, Frosty.” She called him Frosty from a previous date. She took a bite.
  47.
  48. “You need any garnishes?” He asked as he watched her every movement.
  49.
  50. “I'm good for . . . now . . . errrr.” Nurse Redheart shook her head scrunching her nose.
  51.
  52. Canyon Frost smiled. “I know what that means.”
  53.
  54. “Nooo!” Nurse Redheart said as she continued shaking her head.
  55.
  56. “Yes, I know!” Frost said again. He watched her lovingly.
  57.
  58. Nurse Redheart grabbed a tissue and rubbed her nose with it.
  59.
  60. “It's so cute when you don't want to admit things.” Frost said over Nurse Redheart's silence.
  61.
  62. “Ahh Ahh . . . AAATTCCHOOOPPhhmmff!” Nurse Redheart sneezed into the tissue.
  63.
  64. Canyon Frost laughed, “I told you so!”
  65.
  66. “It's not funny!” Nurse Redheart said rubbing her nose with the tissue and rubbing deep into her nostrils. Her nose, which was usually a hue of white, easily showed any variations in color. Her nose was already a rosy red after just one sneeze.
  67.
  68. “It is funny. You're so cute my little Heartbeat.” Canyon Frost said as he poked Redheart's nose. She quickly scrunched her nose and moved away. She finished blowing her nose then decided to smile.
  69.
  70. “What caused that sneeze?” Canyon Frost asked as he took a bite of salad.
  71.
  72. “I'm not sure. You know I just sneeze for now reason.”
  73.
  74. “Well, it's cute.” Canyon Frost responded with his mouth full of lettuce.
  75.
  76. “Noooo.” Nurse Redheart said.
  77.
  78. Canyon Frost just nodded.
  79.
  80. Nurse Redheart could feel another tickle building in her nasal cavity. The tickle grew in intensity until she had to let it out.
  81.
  82. “I'm gonna . . . sneeze again . . . heh . . . ahhh . . . “ She batted lightly on Canyon Frost's shoulder. He looked over to her and handed her another tissue.
  83.
  84. “Aaaattccchhmmppff!” She reared her head back again, then released a second time into the tissue. “Aattttccchhhhooooppppphhh!”
  85.
  86. Canyon Frost put his hoof around Redheart's shoulders, as she lifted her head back once again, then released into the tissue. He held her back from bending forward.
  87.
  88. “AAATTTChhhmmppppfff!”
  89.
  90. “Wow, a triple. You done yet?” Canyon Frost asked.
  91.
  92. Still with a sneezy face, Nurse Redheart shook her head no, as her chest puffed out and she raised the tissue to her nose. In an act of playfulness, Canyon Frost pushed her hooves down from her nose, and she fired off another sneeze.
  93.
  94. “Aaaatttccchhhhhhoooo!” A spray misted in front of her as she tried to cover the sneeze with her knee, but to no avail. She sniffed a few times then in an angry tone, turned to Canyon Frost.
  95.
  96. “Why'd you do that?”
  97.
  98. “Because I thought it would be funny.”
  99.
  100. “Well it wa-wasn-was. . . hah . . . huh . . . “ Nurse Redheart was caught in another sneeze as her eyelids began to close, her nostrils quivered, and she raised her head up. She again tried to put the tissue to her nose, but Canyon Frost pulled her hooves down, trying to hold back laughter.
  101.
  102. “It was?” Canyon Frost laughed as Nurse Redheart sneezed again.
  103.
  104. “AAAAATTTccchooo! It wasn't!” She quickly finished as she jerked her hooves from his grasp and elbowed him.
  105.
  106. “Oooh! I see somepony is feisty today!” Canyon Frost grinned and raised his eyebrows up and down.
  107.
  108. “No!” Nurse Redheart blushed and smiled. “It's just how I am!” She quickly hip checked him causing him to fall off his chair.
  109.
  110. “Sometimes sour, but always ending on a sweet note.” Canyon Frost said as he got up off the ground.
  111.
  112. Nurse Redheart proudly smiled as she took a few more bites of the salad. “This is really good.”
  113.
  114. “Thanks. I am glad you like it.”
  115.
  116. “Don't get too excited, Frosty. I just said it was really good, not amazing.” She huffed with a smile.
  117.
  118. Canyon Frost sat beside Nurse Redheart again and just looked into her eyes and smiled.
  119.
  120. “You're cute.” He said.
  121.
  122. Nurse Redheart continued eating but just shook her head in the no position.
  123.
  124. “Yes you are.” He said again.
  125.
  126. She again shook her head, but scrunched her nose.
  127.
  128. “Oh! Is it going to happen again? Should I get you a tissue?”
  129.
  130. Trying to be independent, Nurse Redheart shook her head no again and turned away.
  131.
  132. “You're so funny.” Canyon Frost said as he continued watching her struggle with a growing sneeze. Her eyes squeezed shut as the tickle became to much for her to handle. She reached her hoof out for a tissue, but Canyon Frost never handed her one, so she aimed down into her lap.
  133.
  134. “Aaattttttcccchooo!” A mist showered her thighs and legs, as well as a lone piece of lettuce. Her nose wasn't done and continued to quiver. It was already a bright red hue.
  135.
  136. Canyon Frost started laughing as he handed her another tissue to use. Nurse Redheart wiped her inner thighs as the sneeze built up again. She quickly lifted the tissue to her nose and just blew. By blowing her nose, the sneeze stopped, but another quickly took it's place, and she blew again. This time she didn't stop the sneeze as it shot out as she was blowing her nose.
  137.
  138. “CcccrrrraaAATTCCHOOOOmmppphh!” She wiped her nose.
  139.
  140. “Geez you are sneezy today.” Canyon Frost stated as he poked her nose. Nurse Redheart turned her nose and blew it again.
  141.
  142. “I'm just having a small . . . “ Her eyes began to close as her mouth slowly opened and began sipping in breath.
  143.
  144. “You having a small fit?” Canyon Frost finished her sentence smiling as he reached his arm around her shoulder and pulled her in tight to his chest.
  145.
  146. “Aaaatttcchhhhfffff!” She sneezed into her tissue rubbing against Canyon Frost's chest. She wasn't done as her nose quivered behind the tissue and she built up for another sneeze. Canyon Frost could feel her chest expanding against his. “Aaaaafffsscchhhmmpphhh!”
  147.
  148. Canyon Frost laughed again as Nurse Redheart lifted herself from his chest and out of his grasp.
  149.
  150. “Huhhh . . .” She rubbed her nose with the tissue. “I could have a patient any second. We should probably wrap this up.”
  151.
  152. “But the fun was just getting started.” Canyon Frost smiled.
  153.
  154. At that exact moment, a page came over the intercom on Nurse Redheart's desk. “A patient is here to see you. Should I send them in?”
  155.
  156. Nurse Redheart responded, trying to hold back a sneeze. “Just a . . . heh . . . AATTTCCHOOMMPPHHFF! Just a second.” She folded her tissue she'd been sneezing into and tossed it into the trash bin.
  157.
  158. “Canyon Frost, thank you very much for the meal and the kind visit, but I . . . got . . . heh . . .” She lifted her head again, nostrils flaring. Within seconds, Canyon Frost pressed his hoof against her nose stopping the sneeze all together.
  159.
  160. “Wow . . . thanks!” Nurse Redheart said surprised.
  161.
  162. “Don't mention it. I will see you soon, my little Heartbeat.” He headed for the door and smiled.
  163.
  164. “I love you.” Nurse Redheart said before he walked out.
  165.
  166. “I love you too.” Canyon Frost said with a smile as he closed the door behind him.
  167.
  168. “Okay, you can send in the patient.” Nurse Redheart said as she put the lunch into her mini fridge.
  169.
  170. “I do love him.” Nurse Redheart said under her breath, as she smiled and blushed even more.
