It connected with a flash of searing light – a brightness so pure, it overwhelmed Trazyn’s oculars, refracting and scattering in the lenses so the world disappeared for a moment then snapped back painted in prismatic rainbow hues.
The blow took Orikan off his feet and sent him crashing into a display case, shorting out the stasis field and denting the plinth with his shoulder plate. Ceramic ritual urns atop the plinth, their cracks painstakingly hardened with period-correct resin, rocked and steadied.
