Tale of the Lost Scroll

In a time before man raised the false idols of gods shaped in their image, those with eyes open to truth saw the true source of life above us, and so brought worship to him. Yet even in those days long past did folly befall humans, who set their eyes on the darkness as a place for worship. However, even shadow is but product of blazing light, and so banished or put to death were these heretics and idolaters. Their temples were taken, and their desecrated riches distributed to the many temples of old. Chief among them, however, was a scroll case that oozed shadow, its pages marked with the ink of the highest wizard who ever worshiped under the darkness. In the war of the black star, this scrollcase was captured, and kept hidden in the vaults of the ancient temple of the olden sun. This temple, like all but our last standing, was lost to the ravages of time and man's foolishness. However, whispered tales among the highest ranking of the order tell of a book with magic darker than the darkest night. If the order can not destroy it, they must hide it away, such that man will never attempt to overthrow all that is good shining in the sky again.
