  1. from /hhg/ Helluva Hotel general #805
  2. ---------------------
  3. Why are some imps caprine-legged while others aren't? (Example; Moxxie and Blitzo)
  4. What does this mean?
  5. Do they take after Satan himself?
  6. Is it a trait that was bred into (((higher))) imp society?
  7. -
  8. why are some humans black with short, curly hair while others are whiter than paper and have long, straight, yellow hair?
  9. -
  10. >Humans
  11. >Melanin levels in skin tend to vary by a given populations geography
  12. >Populations in areas with higher amounts of sun tend to be darker, to enjoy greater photoprotection, while populations in less sunny areas are paler, to increase vitamin D synthesis during the narrower window of daylight
  13. ---
  14. >Imps
  15. >Some imp populations historically occupied extremely rugged terrain, while others lived in relatively flat forests and grasslands
  16. >The root leg structure is the same across both populations, but over time they have each developed in radically different directions, one favoring sure-footedness on steep or slippery terrain and good leaping distance, the other favoring greater long term endurance and lifting strength
  17. >IE
  18. >Moxxie is a highland imp, hence his mountain-goat legs. This is also why he's a marksman and not a brawler, he's instinctively drawn toward the safer highground, which better suits sharpshooting
  19. >Millie is a plains imp, hence the thicker, sturdier, humanoid legs, suitable for extended running (gotta run down those plains animals and stab em in the face), which is why she gravitates toward the stabby stabby

  21. This is very interesting. I feel like I'm learning.
  22. -
  23. >highland imp
  24. this has potential to open a lot of doors and a few windows
  25. -
  26. This is good
  27.
  28. Its also all a giant coincidence I bet, the writing of the show can be great but I don't think its that complex and indepth
  29. -
  30. It would be interesting to see a Punnett square/Gene chart on which features are genetically dominant and submissive. I get the feeling that humanoid legs are dominant, based on what we’ve seen in the show so far.
  31.
  32. Could also be that Plains Imps are just more common, or that Imp City is located on said plains. In the former, maybe the plains just offered more bounty (and later agriculture) which lead to a population increase. For the latter, this could mean that we have cities with “Impish Highlander” culture and architecture somewhere.
  33.
  34. Also, what is Blitzø? I remember someone nice sugesting that he’s half Imp and half Succubi/Incibi, which would explain his lagrer size (and possible attraction by Stolas).
