  1. If the Oompa Loompa counts as “anyone,” then here’s what I think. Trump tried to purchase an NFL team about 30 years ago, but his offer was declined. There were records of him trying to do it again through the USFL and people rumor that Trump started these charges on the NFL a long time ago. [http://www.nytimes.com/1984/10/19/sports/charges-fly-from-usfl.html?mcubz=0] He’s tried multiple times since. Look at this salty Tweet he made. [https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/520674936135098369 ] Trump is probably just being extremely baby-like and trying to prove himself because of resentment, or something.

  3. Another possibility, (but also does give some credit to Trump) is that an election to replace Jeff Sessions is coming up, and believe it or not, the polls are fairly close between the Democratic candidate and Republican candidate… or at least within the margin of error. This is in Alabama as you know, so it kind of makes sense to raise tension within the state. We both know that a lot of people there seem to be quite fervent over this country, and that’s there’s a fair amount of racism there. Getting people riled up may increase voter turnout for Republicans in the near future. People kneeling during the National Anthem is an opportune moment to say people are disrespecting the flag and whatnot if you want to have an effect on Alabama.

  5. As for everyone else though? It’s probably a vocal minority… but say it’s not. It’s probably just because people seem to like being offended (on both sides), people don’t think about what they’re saying and join in the hysteria because they’re avid Trump fans, or because they’re just racist. This might be stuff you all know, because it seems like you're looking for an answer as to why people are offended about it in the first place, but there probably isn't one?
