Chloe King should be dead. Any normal human being would be under the circumstances, but Chloe has just turned sixteen and has found out she isn&#39;t as normal as she once thought she was. Chloe is Mai - a race of beings with cat-like powers: speed, agility, and claws. Being a high school student was complicated enough, but being Mai has added a new set of problems. Chloe is given the responsibility of protecting both the Mai and Human races. A secret organization wants to have her assassinated - nine times if necessary. And a simple kiss has deadly consequences; so much for falling in love.
A girl with special cat-like powers is being hunted by an assassin.
&quot;The Nine Lives Of Chloe King&quot; is a sort of fantasy/science-fiction series that was based off the book of the same name. Chloe King turns 16 and wishes her life were more exciting; however, she gets more than she bargained for when she discovers that she&#39;s gained catlike abilities. It turns out that Chloe is apart of the Mai race, a species of half-human, half-feline descendants of the Egyptian goddess, Bastet. Not only that, but Chloe is the Uniter who must bring peace between Mai and the Order, an organization that is out to kill the Mai.<br/><br/>I can&#39;t tell you how upset I was when this show was cancelled (and on a cliffhanger!) It was very good; the acting was great (Skyler Sammuels is surprisingly good and likable as Chloe), the story lines about the Mai and the Order were intriguing, and the fight scenes were awesome. <br/><br/>One thing I will say, though, is that there was too much focus on the romance. The Alek/Chloe/Brian love triangle was overplayed for a show that I thought was about a girl&#39;s cool catlike powers and the Order. I wished they had focused more on that storyline instead because it was so much more interesting.<br/><br/>Overall, though, the series was very good. I know it didn&#39;t get enough viewership, but ABC Family should have at least resolved the cliffhanger, or don&#39;t show it at all because I want to know what happened next.
It&#39;s bionic woman without the acting finesse, although most of the players make an above average effort. Unfortunately from the first episode it&#39;s not easy to see any real reason to watch more, but I do get a subconscious feeling it just may improve so I will probably try 1 more episode. I think possibly teenagers may get more from this than I did.<br/><br/>When a storyline type this overused is &#39;re-done&#39; it has to have something else going for it than just the concept - so far I&#39;ve not seen it.<br/><br/>The whole idea could perhaps be a fantasy style show, but it tries to piggy-back a little too much on dull teenage reality, so the &#39;fantastic&#39; elements seem a little too outside the rest of the plot. I wouldn&#39;t recommend anyone doesn&#39;t watch it, but also I wouldn&#39;t recommend it to anyone - as a time filler it may be OK, but as something worth watching, so far it falls short...
