- Dry Bowser: I'd kinda like to see Dry Bowser make an appearance as a Clone (or as Nintendo prefers to disguise it as, an "Echo Fighter") of Bowser. Idk, I just generally like this character and think he'd make an interesting character choice. This does come with a problem, though: the Mario franchise already has so many representatives. So, an alternative I'd use is to have him as an Assist Trophy instead. Not that he's a popular choice to begin with anyways.
- Dr. Luigi: I don't want him as an actual character, actually. Just as an alternate skin of Dr. Mario. The Year of Luigi never dies. (Well, I guess it can and it already has, but still I'd think this would be a nice touch.)
- Dixie Kong: I'd kinda like to see Dixie Kong make an appearance because the Donkey Kong franchise needs more reputation (Though, I guess if you want to do that the easy way, you could make the Mario, Donkey Kong, Yoshi, and Wario franchises count as 1, but then it'd be OVERrepresented), and when it comes down to it, she is a popular choice. ...Well, other than Funky Kong and...
- King K. Rool: Honestly, having this guy would be a nice touch, too. It would not only give both the DK Franchise AND the Smash Villains more reputation, but it would honestly give the kingly crocodile a nice return after a few long years. When it comes down to it, both K. Rool and Dixie Kong are both good candidates to grow the DK series further.
- Tetra: I feel like this is a Zelda representative that would not only represent the Toon-styled characters more, but non-Link characters as well. ...Well, it'll also mean we'll have a third Zelda, but hey, if we have 3 Links then why not. But for a character that is none of the others, than we have...
- Linkle: Linkle may not be a Link, but she sure does pretend to be one. Also, I'd kinda like there to be SOME representation of Hyrule Warriors. And while you may argue that Impa would be a good choice of being "not Link, Zelda, or Ganondorf", and while I wouldn't turn her down as a playable fighter, I honestly feel like Impa is more of an Assist Trophy sort-of character. But then again, Linkle is more of a "character only seen as a collectible Trophy, if lucky enough to be there at all" sort-of deal, so maybe I'm putting my hopes up too high, so maybe someone else has a better chance than Impa or Linkle that isn't another Zelda or Link. Just... Please don't let it be Tingle. PLEASE don't let it be Tingle.
- Wolf Link: Honestly, I don't see Wolf Link being a character (though it wouldn't be the FIRST time we saw a four-legged fighter), but what I'd like to see out of Wolf Link is an Assist Trophy appearance. I think it would be interesting to see how what used to be the OG Smash Bros. Link get replaced by his newer counterpart and then becomes Assist Trophy status, but I mainly would just like to see Wolf Link appear as something more than a simply trophy, and but at the same time feel like making a full-on moveset without Midna (seeing as she is ALREADY an Assist Trophy) would be too hard to do.
- Dark Samus: I know we already had our +1 Metroid rep and +1 Villain rep with Ridley, but Dark Samus is a popular choice for an addition to the roster. Of course, I'd think of her having more of a chance as a Echo Fighter for regular Samus, which honestly fits perfectly for her as a literal clone of Samus.
- Birdo: I'd honestly see her (I KNOW about the whole "male acting to be female" thing, but at this point we all call "him" a her anyways) as more of an Assist Trophy, but having Birdo as a full-on character, while it may be putting hopes up too high, is something I'd like to see. But alas, I don't think there'll come a day for that to happen.
- Marx: I already stated on how I'd like to see Marx appear as a character, but I still stand on my point and shall state it again: I'd truly like to see Marx appear in Smash. Ever since I've learned of his existence back in Kirby Star Allies (having not knowing him before since I didn't look too much into Kirby lore), he became my favorite character, and thus he would be someone I'd vote for in the Smash Ballot, if they do it again for Smash Ultimate. I'd think he would be an interesting choice with a diverse moveset. Also, he'd be a Kirby Villain rep that isn't misunderstood and only needs a friend and a hug.
- Bandanna Waddle Dee: In terms of what I would expect, however, I'd moreso see Waddle Dee make a playable appearance over Marx. He is practically more well-supported than Marx (at least I'd imagine), practically completes the main Kirby cast quartet, and would make for not only more Kirby rep, but also would be the only character suitable for representing the commonly-seen grunts of all video game franchises. In the end, while I'd like to see Marx appear, Waddle Dee would make a far more foreseeable addition, and thus would probably be my second choice for the theoretical Smash Ballot.
- Decidueye: I'd honestly like to see something to represent the Alola region, and when I think about who it could be, I'd think Decidueye would be a great choice, seeing as it is the most popular out of the other fully-evolved Alolan starters. (Seriously, I searched for a survey, and I saw Decidueye as the top choice.) Another fully-evolved I'd see make an appearance would be Incineroar. I'm not a big fan of Incineroar, but I'd think it would make a good choice since it is literally designed to be a wrestler Pokemon. But with Decidueye being my most favorite, it has my top choice.
- Next-Gen Starter Pokemon: This one is a bit of a no-brainer. Next Generation of Pokemon is coming. Pokemon fans are going to be hyped over it. Why not further the hype with a Smash inclusion? I can't say any further about who it would be since obviously nothing about the next-gen Pokemon game is revealed other than it being a Switch game, and that its graphics will topple the rest. However, I will say that I can see this being a good idea for Smash Ultimate DLC, assuming it'll still do DLC. But let's face it, it most likely WILL do DLC.
- Earthbound/Mother Rep: It's clear to say that this series needs more rep. It's a popular RPG that, while the most recent addition may never see the light of day overseas, and we may as well never see a 4th installment, it is held close to the hearts of fans. So why not have some new Earthbound Rep? ...Well, there's one concerning issue: who WOULD be the new rep? Pokey would probably be a bad choice, and all the possibly good other choices make their own separate appearances as either Final Smash partners for our current reps or as an Assist Trophy. I would like to say that we still have Ninten, but Ninten is so identical for Ness, I've practically been calling them the same character for the longest time, so a design overhaul would be necessary.
- F-Zero Rep: F-Zero suffers from a similar fate. All of Captain Falcon's moves are custom, so that practically means anyone could be chosen. But if you'd ask me, I'd say either a unique character in the form of Black Shadow or an Echo Character in the form of Blood Falcon.
- Waluigi: ...I'm going to be honest. I don't exactly have any hope for Waluigi this time around. When we saw him during the Smash Ultimate talk during E3, he was revealed as an Assist Trophy. Not only that, but he was knocked around and killed off during it, kinda rubbing salt in the wounds of Waluigi fans like me. ...HOWEVER. There are some who still hold high hopes for great and wonderful WAA by stating that Sakurai would either give in from the fans' pleas or that it was all a practical joke, making a unique reveal that also matches Waluigi's personality. So while I don't really think Waluigi Time will come THIS time around, Waluigi will still be placed on this wishlist, as well as many more Smash wishlists to come.
- ARMS Rep/Spring Man: We already had one big, new Nintendo game join the fight in Smash, so why not let another in? ARMS is a unique fighting game and was one of the games that kicked off the Nintendo Switch in the first place, so a representative of the series is quite likely. And in terms of who it would be, I along with others feel like Spring Man is a good choice for this.
- Nintendo Labo: I'm going to be honest. I'm not really buying into the Nintendo Labo idea. But it won't stop me from wanting an idea from a tweet (https://twitter.com/JavedLSterritt/status/975666584055197696) become a reality. It would be an interesting and wacky character who I am interested in seeing it implemented. And besides, we got Wii Fit Trainer, a Wii/Wii U-specific character, so why not a Switch-specific character? (I wouldn't necessarily say Labo Man would be used, but Labo Man would be my choice.)
- Banjo & Kazooie: And now we get into some 3rd-Party ideas. There are some 3rd-Party Villain reps I'd like to see (Eggman for Sonic, and *maybe* Wily for Mega Man?), but since Nintendo seems to stick to 1-per-series for these, I'll just do the same for these. Banjo & Kazooie are my first choice because... Well, they're a very well-wanted classic, of course! Who else could bring upon the classic nostalgia of the N64 days than these two? (And also Conker, but there are obvious reasons to why he shouldn't be involved.) And since Microsoft wants him in Smash, it's possible!
- Simon Belmont: The Konami Trio, or so I heard, is Metal Gear, Bomberman, and Castlevania. And since we already have 2/3, a rep for Castlevania is a well-wanted and well-predicted addition. And who would be better for this than Simon Belmont? And since Capcom is represented by both Mega Man AND Ryu, it's a possibility!
- Spyro: Honestly, Spyro is just someone I'd like to see pop up in the Smash roster to rep the classic Sony mascots, and out of the two, Spyro is the one I'm more of a fan of. However, I'm uncertain of the moveset, and in addition, the remakes of Spyro isn't really planned for the Switch. There is another choice, however...
- Crash Bandicoot: Crash seems to be the better choice since he's ALREADY on the Switch, which means there's less of a problem allowing him to be brought into Switch. But to be honest, I'm not counting Spyro out, either. No matter who's chosen, however, seeing one of these guys facing off Mario and a few of the other 3rd-Party characters would make for an interesting match.
- Rayman: The man's made a trophy appearance, but uh... Yeah, it was definitely not a deserving appearance for him. I feel like Rayman would make for a unique appearance since he has those floating appendages. Also, he is well-wanted, or so I'd imagine.
- Now, before I finish off my list, it's time for my 3rd-Party character!
- The last 3rd Party choice is an Indie Game Character!
- The obvious choice for representing them!
- The name you all know, it starts with an "S"!
- Please welcome my last wishlist character...
- Shovel Knight: Shovel Knight is a popular choice for representing Indie Games since he is an homage to the classic NES games of the past, and Yacht Club Games even asked to consider putting Shovel Knight in the Smash 4 Ballot. Out of all the 3rd-Party characters, he's not my most wanted (that's a tie between Crash and Spyro), but he's the one that I see more potential with.
- And you all thought I was going to say "Sans Undertale", did you? Boy, do I miss classic Spongebob. (And for those who thought Shantae... I honestly know nothing about her franchise, so... I GUESS she has potential due to popularity? I still stand by Shovel Knight, however.)
