  14.
  15. 08/28/19(14:46:17) *Menma(A New World) felt the ominous presence from outside the planet's atmosphere and it was cold, cunning, uncanninly familiar to the lizard Frieza who he'd thought they'd killed before. Did..Did Goku fail? There was no time to ponder, Roshi's routine would have to wait. With a burst of speed, Menma rushed towards Launch.*
  16. 08/28/19(15:05:00) *Menma(A New World) rose his power level and looked towards the rest. They'd be making their way towards the power level soon, best to approach before the possible enemy had a time to prepare. The nimbus came from the sky, grabbing the boy and carrying him north.*
  17. 08/28/19(15:44:26) *Menma(A New World) rushed to Krillin's side, aiding him off his feet. "You did great, Krillin!"*
  18. 08/28/19(15:54:25) *Menma(A New World) had prepared to assist both Romoto and Yamcha in combat but Krillin was speaking again. He realized it was likely best to watch his enemy a bit longer before formulating a plan so he stayed back this round. Krilling was awake now and in need of some r&r. He still had the senzu Kisaragi had given him and tossed it to Krillin. "Here ya' go bud."*
  19. 08/28/19(16:28:18) *Menma(A New World) races off to class*
  20. 08/28/19(16:41:48) *Menma(A New World) watched, mouthe agape as Raditz was pulverized by a ki ball the size of a small city block. The damage to the earth and the saiyan was tremendous. This was getting out of hand... Everyon wanted a piece of the spotlight, some bit of glory and because of it they weren't using their wits nor fighting together. Cooler obviously had a plethora of energy attacks and an ungodly reserve to call upon-- and if he was anything like his sibling Frieza THIS wasn't even his true power. "Launch!" Menma called, beckoning his friend over. If anyone knew what to do in terms of medicine it was her. He wished she could help but didn't want to risk the chance of serious injury on her part. Where was Kisaragi? It didn't matter. Where Raditz stood, the young teen remained, looking to the others with yearning eyes. "If you can fight, help me... don't just watch..." he thought to himself turning towards the Lizard. "Alright- I get you're superior and we're like ants to you, but if you step on an anthill it's a pain in the ass to get rid of 'em all." Scores of red light began to shimmer and burst from Menma's core. Like a bubbbling pot of water heated by a red hot furnace it spread, covering the youth. He looked like he was suffering and then a cry of will ripped from his throat. Around him was a cloak of energy, tail and ears alike etched around his figure creating the apperance of a canine creature.*
  21. 08/28/19(16:53:23) *Menma(A New World) was cut off mid speech. The bruatlity of the monster finally hit him as he watched in slow motion as the beams, inevitably aimed at Launch, tore through the thin air. His heart sank, cold sweats trickled the nape of his neck and a primal adrenaline coursed through his veins. He wasn't able to control the shift, it happened naturally in reaction to his split mentality. He saw nothing but red and rushed alongside the others to fight.*
  22. 08/28/19(17:28:26) *Menma(A New World) fell unconscious despite his latent anger. The creature had a second wind, exactly wha the'd expected and in that time he gained an unprecedented amount of strength, combating all seven of the warriors and defeating them with relative ease. Menma, hit by one of Romoto's attacks again was heavily wounded, Cooler himself dealing the finishing blow soon after. The last thing he heard was Launch's voice before he fell into darkness.*
  23. 08/28/19(17:52:18) *Menma(A New World) slowly stood from his state of exhustion, his wounds were healed surprisingly quickly-- testament to the medical prowess and the demon's natural healing capabilities. Menma summoned the might of his energy the cloaked aura appearing once again. He wasn't sure if it was helping or hurting, if the power was substantial or if the enemy he fought was just that great but for once--- just this once he wanted nothing more than to kill this Lizard. Perhaps it was the coy nature of the monster, the merciless lack of dignity it held towards the living species. Menma began to increase his energy ouput, calling upon greater power, allowing more of his sanity to slip in the process. He couldn't hear the satisfied rumble of laughter that edged him to grow more spiteful.*
  24. 08/28/19(18:54:34) *Menma(A New World) --Launch, Krillin, Goku, Yamcha, Dende, Raditz. These reptilian monsters continued to assault and maim earthling after Earthling in the sake of some stupid desire for power, an unrighteous undignified selfishness driving them to the peak of depravity. Cooler was that essence, self-serving, sanctimonious, filth incarnate. Menma bit his lip, quaking with unparalleled ferocity. Emerald gems darted left in right-- to Launch, to Raditz, to Krillin, to Cooler. Again, Romoto's words lingered in his mind, hanging on threads of proverbial silk, wisps provoking action. "Every time I fight, I fight to kill or 'play' with my enemies. I don't think you have it in you to do that. When it comes down to it, can you really slay your enemy?" Menma had always believed that mercy begets mercy, and kindness kindness-- you treated people as they wished to be treated and in return the world returned that same courtesy. It was a universal law in his mind, an infallible truth-- yet here before him stood the antithesis of that ideology, one above all, an outlier. Menma wasn't sure if conformity was righteous- to kill something because it was different: right ow he didn't care about different. Friend nor Foe, villain nor Hero, this was a fight of survival, primal drive dictating the notion of 'kill or be killed.' Never had such psychological trauma been placed on the boy before. His mind melted. He struggled with morality, vengeance, justification, and hypocrisy. The concepts were too much to juggle toppling with the weight of unrelenting hatred. That voice again echoed, he could feel the seal on his stomach spinning counter-clockwise, his grip on reality fading before his eyes. His sclera and irises matched a visible crimson hue. The flesh on his hands began to peel, the sinew, muscle and blood mixing with the malevolent energy seeping from his pores. His canines elongated, the cloak grew a darker shade and the energy bubbled as if boiling over. Blood vessels were rupturing. He'd bitten down on his lip so hard it bled and the ground beneath him shook. Death, it was the final product of what was to come. Them or It. Nothing was so absolute.*
  25. 08/28/19(19:44:21) *Menma(A New World) had regained a bit of his intelligence, powering up and unleashing the power of the nine-tails again, Menma watched as Cooler managed to fend off Trunk's attack. The warriors of Earth were on their last legs but the fire in their eyes, the kindled flame, it drove them all to stand against opposition.*
  26. 08/28/19(20:08:04) *Menma(A New World) raised his hands to his eyes, covering the light that blinded him with its brilliance. He didn't have the power to do much else aside from that. He lay on the grass completely spent ad utterly exhausted. went off deeper into the arctic biome in order to self-reflect and delve deeper into the complexities of his abilities and his relationship with the demon fox inside. True it'd been a rather ambiguous one, neither spoke outside of necessity and it felt more one-sided. Menma realized that he'd been using the creature as a battery, tossing himself into fight after fight for the sake of his own development without harboring any concern for the other creature taking refuge within. It was time to have another talk.
  27.
  28. Upon the peak of the mountain he sat, cross-legged and entranced, falling deeper and deeper into a meditative slumber. What his inner-sanctum brought him to this time was a labyrinth, the endless tunnels and hallways wound and stretched for seemingly eternity. The dim lit area was stained with a red tint giving off the characteristics of clay-- dim candle lights were place sporadically at various intersections along the paths, lighting at random intervals or upon approach. Creepy was certainly not subtle here. Menma continued, calling for the enigmatic entity which avoided him and evaded pursuit.
  29.
  30. "I just want to talk! I know I haven't been too nice to you and I haven't really considered your feelings, if you'll just hear me out though!"
  31.
  32. Radio silence. What seemed like hours persisted, aimless wandering down corridor after corridor. Then a voice, it echoed through the halls and a fierce gust followed-- it wanted him to leave. "Get! OUT!" The sheer force of presence sent him tumbling, but this seemed pained-- The direction of the voice was to the left, it had to be the exit. Foot steps pattered on rough cement as he ra, the dim light fading until nothing but darkness remained. The instant he stepped outside the maze it crumbled to pieces behind him: the defenses were breached.
  33.
  34. Behind metal gates sat the sulking, spiteful and oddly pitiful beast."What do you want?" Menma knew he wasn't going to just be able to outright ask for power, let alone if it was justified to even use it, but he had to start somewhere and the most elementary form of bonding was through introduction. "I want to settle this feud. I'm Menma. I'll ask again, what's your name?"
  35.
  36. The tension was suffocating, thick like southern humidity, warping the space around them. Reluctant but compliant, it hissed. "Kurama." -- Kurama. "You're the first to ask for my name... but I know what you're planning to do. To keep me use me as a shield whilst you supplant my power for your own selfish greed." It was a part of him, just as Goku said. It could read his thoughts almost as well as Menma could read his own. It pained him to know he'd been so transparent.
  37.
  38. "... I was going to do that, you're right. I lost against the ali- no I was powerless against it... I blamed you. You had all of this strength and yet I could have none of it. I felt if I was at least hosting you, the least you could do was supply me with the means to fuel my own ambitions... but that was wrong... and I'm sorry." His condolences didn't seem to mean much to the vexed but what Menma was inquisitive about something.
  39.
  40. "How exactly... did you end up in here anyways?"
  41.
  42. No one had ever asked the fox's name before, unbeknownst to Menma that interest was a redeeming quality, but it was still apprehensive, was the boy in earnest about their feelings or simply plotting to lower their guard? There was a heavy sigh and and the demon explained the circumstances of the predicament. "Several hundred years ago me and my siblings roamed these lands in separate corners of the world evading humanity out of respect for their culture. However, size can be a terrifying thing. When the swipe of your tail causes tsunami's, and your roars earthquakes, people see you more as a threat and a monster than anything else. It was during the eve of December when a group of power warriors followed me to the arctic region. Monks and priests gathered and we were tossed into a great battle where their powers were pitted against my own. They paled in comparison but you humans are strong-willed and cunning when working together. reinforcements arrived from the west unexpectedly with greater power than I'd ever seen. Using that power they damaged me-- it was enough for the priests to cast their spells. With magical chains they bound me to the ground, sapping away my energy into these nine different totems that would hold my power. As my life force began slipping i thrashed but to no avail... When I woke up I was here, in this cage, inside the body of a young woman. Since then I've been transferred from host to host, used as a weapon of war against those unwilling to submit to whomever was in control... The chain was unending, the jihad and pilgrimages continued until one family in particular had enough. They were quick-- amidst one of the ceremonies, they captured four of the totems and took it for themselves. That released a portion of my power. With it, another piece of me escaped to lay waste to the lands around, my other half. With those four totems they continued a haphazard version of the ceremony sealing me in their infant son... you."
  43.
  44. It spoke with a great envy which Menma could only assume was towards its other half, the half that escaped. It was ludicrous to believe so much power existed with only half of the beast being locked away inside of him, and yet still it was disheartening to know it'd been abused for centuries with no one to tend to it, show compassion or care. That oppression again. "... That's unforgivable..." he started, bawled fists clenched tightly as he spoke, furrowed brows displayed a ferocity that could not match the fox's own bot portrayed an empathy, one of the likes it'd never seen before. "It's just like those aliens. They take what is't theirs and use it selfishly to lay the foundation of their own greed... That's sick! I can't, I can't ask for forgiveness nor apologize enough-- i can't right their wrongs but I can promise you this... I don't want to use the power you grant, if makes me anything like them then I'll just find a way to gain strength on my own.... I'll find your other half Kurama and I'll make sure you're reunited and set free!"
  45.
  46. It moved, shifted and grew closer to the bars. It looked, stared blankly for a moment, an analytical gaze that measured the value and worth of the youth's words. "..." Menma was quaking but the beast could sense, feel emotion and at the core of his host was unparalleled honesty. It nearly moved him. "... I will tell you this, Menma-- there are energies of which you could not comprehend... you humans have a great deal to learn, to take in. Everything has life and in that life there is power. If you seek such, look there..."
  47.
  48. It would not abandon the chance to escape despite knowing the consequences for the young boy. If he wished to martyr himself then the fox would allow him to ignorantly. It had sacrificed years of its life for the many, once could sacrifice itself for him. Turning it's back, the ground rumbled and the beast retreated into the darkness. "Look to the sky... boy..."
  49.
  50. A vacuum gripped him, sucking him up and out from the trance and tossing him harshly back into reality. A sharp gasp and he was awake again, surrounded by the scent of water and the breeze. He could feel the warmth of tears on his cheek, the salty taste on his tongue. There was so much he didn't know but if there was anything he was certain of, it was that he would right the wrongs of his kind for this pitiful being.
  51. was clobbered again by the sudden increase of his opponents strength. He found him to be far easier than the droid he fought before, but the speed, the overall ferocity and might proved to be overwhelming, even with the three of them, Menma was incapable of keeping up, not even in his Sage transformation. Hope seemed to slip between his fingers as darkness crept round the edges of his vision.
  52.
  53. The last thing he heard before slumber, the coquettish vixen, swept him away.
  54.
  55. There was silence now, and before him was the gargantuan gate representing the seal for the tailed creature inside. Menma looked battered, defeated and disappointed. "I-I'm sorry...." he murmured, on his stomach incapable of standing. "I promised I'd find a way to release you and I failed... I don't think I was ready for this, heh, makes me think of Romot telling me not to bite off more than I can chew." a coy jest at his own mortality. What he fought was ruthless-- they didn't feel, they didn't need food or water-- in every way they were superior to the humans who came with optimism and hope... Yet one by one they fell rapidly.
  56.
  57. There was a callous whisper that sounded of a monstrous growl. "... Menma... You arrogant fool. I doubted your words, toyed with your emotions for the sake of my own entertainment but I see now what you really needed was encouragement... You'll leap into the fire for those you love time after time... If only more humans could be like you...." the beast sighed, a heavy heart weighed and then, a change. "I'll lend you my power this one time... Use it wisely."
  58.
  59. From beneath the cage flowed an energy hot as magma. It caressed the boy, altering his physique as the skin on his arms and legs peeled. The muscle tissue, blood and fiber meshed together creating a cohesive suit. His flesh continued to peel in a painful process, but the creatures regenerative capabilities stabilized him. The singular tail which formed in his original cloak form split into several variants and the darkened ki which emerged was monstrous.
  60.
  61. From the ground, a whirlwind formed-- Menma's entire physique changed as he climbed to all fours. A howl escaped him, the result of the following events was a dome shaped exlosion of ki, the center rippling with an increasingly intense power that spread upward and diminished. He'd achieved another transformation to bolster his current state-- infused with natural energy, he felt the density of his muscles solidify, his witt and senses heighten, and his blood lust boil. They'd damaged the robot this far, if he failed now then everything he'd worked for would be lost. This was his final front-- perhaps death here if it meant giving Launch a chance to escape wouldn't be so bad.
