A loud buzzer went off in the electrical control room, and a foreboding
red light for Area Three switched on. With a sudden movement, the person
in charge flipped a switch. Fifty thousand volts of strong current flowed
through the barbed-wire perimeter of Area Three. That ought to be enough
to kill the monster with a single touch, right?
Godzilla approached the breakwaters near the Tokyo Bay Ocean Liner
Piers. Suddenly, he let out a ferocious GRAAAAAAAWRRRR!!
Even though the concrete breakwater was two meters thick, he shattered
it in an instant with a single kick. He leaped onto land and placed his paw
on the barbed wire.
Crackle, crackle . . . For a moment, there was a tremendous shower of
sparks flying in every direction, and an ear-splitting GRAAAAAAAWRRRR!!
pierced the night sky over Tokyo. It wasn’t exactly a battle cry, nor was it a
shriek of sadness or pain. In the middle of a great cloud of white smoke,
Godzilla shook his head and lifted his tail. With bloodshot eyes fixed on the
defense forces, he began to flail wildly around.
