sora and dani have feelings

Dani felt something constrict in her throat as she realised that Sora was dead. She fell to her knees beside him.

"No way! You can't die! You're one of my best friends and you - I -" Dani's face burnt, tears building up in her eyes. "I didn't even get to tell you that I - I -"

A sob choked its way through her throat, and Dani wailed. "Sora!"

She cried, there, until she remembered something important. Something her sprite had said to her, in her world.

She could kiss him back to life.

Dani grabbed Sora by the shoulders, slipped a hand under his head, and kissed him on the lips.

Nothing seemed to happen.

"Oh god..."

Dani buried her head against Sora's dead chest and cried. She didn't hear when another Sora approached her. She did, however, hear his shakey voice.

"Shit, I'm sorry, Dani."

"Sora!" Dani turned to him, disbelieving, tears still on her face. "Sora, you're alive!" She scrambled up and ran to the boy, hesitating before him.

"Hey," Sora said, wrapping Dani up in a hug. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here now. Sorry for the interlude."

Dani looked from Sora, in his Dersite pyjamas, to Sora's corpse. Sora gently took her cheek in a hand and turned her face back to him.

"But Sora..." Dani sniffed, trying to quell her tears. It didn't work, and she buried her head against his shoulder, sobbing. Sora ran his fingers through her hair, shooshing her.

"Hey, shh. Don't worry. Nothing's gonna get me down for long."

"You... you died..."

"And now I'm right here again, so don't worry, okay? Shh..."

They stood together in their embrace for a long time. Neither one wanted to pull away. When they finally did, Dani wiped her tears away from her face and smiled.

"We'd better get out of here before more monsters come, huh?"

"... yeah."

Neither mentioned the feelings between them.
