- Basically the idea is, like he said, the system will evolve, just like wrestling. The system used to be 4 stars was a "perfect match", then Tiger Mask/Dynamite Kid happened. The match was so much better than any other match to that point, that it was given 5 stars. From that point, 5 stars became a staple. Then in 1989, he gave the one house show match between Flair/Steamboat 6 stars, (which he kind of revoked later when he didn't give this match moty), but that series is still considered the best series in wrestling history. Then you look at the '94 match where that match was given 6 stars. Now if you compared 90s Japan to what wrestling had seen before, that match was truly evolved, much like the wrestling. Now if you look at wrestling today, it's much flashier than it's ever been. What if his system has evolved, just like the wrestling? What if when wrestling evolves again, they will break the previously thought "barrier" for wrestling, and produce what Meltzer seems as a 7 star match, which would be like a modern day 5 star match, but in that time frame to keep up with the evolution of wrestling.
