On 25 February 2022, Renner, while accompanied by Master Trooper Beltran and Corporal Stone, witnessed a black Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV perform an illegal u-turn on Vespucci Blvd near Elgin Ave. Renner activated his emergency equipment and initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was identified by driver's license to be River Sativa, and was accompanied by three unidentified passengers. Sativa explained that the reason for the u-turn was witnessing a motionless individual in the roadway and had expressed concern for their welfare. At the time, Renner, Beltran, and Stone (hereafter "Renner and company,") were stopped visibly in the roadway aside the motionless individual in question with their emergency lights activated. During the course of the stop, Sativa threw a missile identified to be a stick of processed cheese product at Renner; this act was disregarded by Renner and company and the cheese product was not recovered. Sativa was issued a citation to the order of $200 and released.
