  2. [Shard, Ruby Street]
  3. Ruby Street cuts through the heart of the only section of Shard that survived the wars with the Dragon Priests, a fact that is readily apparent in the antique appearance of most of the shops here. One inn built of seasoned wood seems to be the main attraction of this section of the lane, a cherrywood sign painted with a black rose hanging over the door. Young children of the streetrat persuasion scamper past as they run out of or into a side street that leads to the inn's stableyard.
  4. Also here: Casari.
  5. Obvious paths: north, south.
  6.
  7. Casari just arrived.
  8.
  9. Casari flails her arms about.
  10.
  11. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "Silly!"
  12.
  13. You blink.
  14.
  15. Casari pulls you to her in a tight hug.
  16.
  17. You hug Casari who wraps her arms around you with a warm smile. A faint scent of geshiloira clings to her skin.
  18.
  19. The sun vanishes behind a multicolored splendor of clouds as night slowly drapes its starry banner across the skies.
  20.
  21. You exclaim in Ilithic, "Casari!"
  22.
  23. Casari says in Ilithic, "I literally just ran into your mother inside."
  24.
  25. You fret.
  26.
  27. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "It's so good to see you!"
  28.
  29. You say in Ilithic, "Then I shouldn't go in there..."
  30.
  31. You glance at an inn.
  32.
  33. Casari asks in Ilithic, "Huh? Why not?"
  34.
  35. You say in Ilithic, "I don't want her to know I'm here."
  36.
  37. [Shard, Ruby Street]
  38. A gentle tranquility wraps this section of Ruby Street despite the fall of night and all the treacherous things its darkness conceals. An inn built of seasoned wood is the only shop still open here, its windows and doorway bright with the glow of firelight and inviting the attention of those whose work does not end with the loss of sunlight. A side street leads off into the stableyard of the inn, where the whinnying of horses can be heard.
  39. Also here: Casari.
  40. Obvious paths: north, south.
  41.
  42. Casari ponders.
  43.
  44. Casari quietly says in Ilithic, "Quick, let's go talk."
  45.
  46. You ponder.
  47.
  48. You ask in Ilithic, "Where can we go?"
  49.
  50. Casari says in Ilithic, "Somewhere she wouldn't go, of course."
  51.
  52. You ask in Ilithic, "The Noose?"
  53.
  54. You grin.
  55.
  56. Casari grins.
  57.
  58. Casari joins your group.
  59.
  60. You go north, leading your group.
  61. [Shard, Ruby Street]
  62. Oldstyle Elothean architecture takes up most of the street on either side, the fluid, clean lines and golden rectangles of the structures at once efficiently utilizing the space the city has alloted them and aesthetically pleasing. Out of place to the rest of the street's design is an arched gate of diamondique and steel that rises to the north, its Elven motif cutting rudely into the otherwise purely Elothean scape. You also see an opulent domed building of marble and glass.
  63. Also here: Casari.
  64. Obvious paths: south.
  65.
  66. (Travel)
  67.
  68. You go west, leading your group.
  69. [Hangman's Noose, Main Bar]
  70. Crossed headsman's axes hang on the fieldstone wall behind the bar, the blades inlaid with carnelian to resemble spatters of blood. To the south, burly patrons cluster about a private table, while the noise from the east makes it easy to identify the location of the common room. A stairway leads up to the second floor. You also see a menu.
  71. Also here: Casari.
  72. Obvious exits: east, south.

  102. Casari casually observes the area.
  103.
  104. Casari says in Ilithic, "Definitely no lady emissaries in here."
  105.
  106. You nod in agreement.
  107.
  108. You say in Ilithic, "I don't think she would set foot in here."
  109.
  110. Casari pulls you to her in a tight hug.
  111.
  112. Casari says in Ilithic, "Ugh, it's been ages."
  113.
  114. Casari asks in Ilithic, "So what's going on?"
  115.
  116. The bronze wyvern comes to rest upon Casari's left wrist, and its wings continue to slowly open and close, causing light to shimmer across their surface.
  117.
  118. You hug Casari who wraps her arms around you with a warm smile. A faint scent of geshiloira clings to her skin.
  119.
  120. You say in Ilithic, "I've been staying on Aesry, but I don't want her to know."
  121.
  122. You ponder.
  123.
  124. You say in Ilithic, "I'm not sure why? But I don't think she would approve."
  125.
  126. You say in Ilithic, "I... I am there... with... someone."
  127.
  128. Casari gasps at you!
  129.
  130. Casari asks in Ilithic, "What's his name? Where's he from? What's he look like? How close are you?"
  131.
  132. You say to Casari in Ilithic, "He is very nice. I would love for you to meet him."
  133.
  134. Casari asks in Ilithic, "But not your mother. Are you afraid she won't like him?"
  135.
  136. You say in Ilithic, "My mother knows him."
  137.
  138. You sigh.
  139.
  140. You say in Ilithic, "I think she will disapprove."
  141.
  142. Casari says in Ilithic, "Uh oh."
  143.
  144. Casari asks in Ilithic, "How come?"
  145.
  146. You say in Ilithic, "His name is Enthal. He is from Elamiri, but he is a lunar gypsy."
  147.
  148. You say in Ilithic, "I think my mother will tell me we are too young."
  149.
  150. You roll your eyes.
  151.
  152. You say in Ilithic, "I am forty-four. I am old enough."
  153.
  154. Casari nods in agreement.
  155.
  156. Casari says in Ilithic, "I bet you she's remembering what she was like at your age."
  157.
  158. You nod.
  159.
  160. You say in Ilithic, "Probably."
  161.
  162. You sigh.
  163.
  164. Casari says in Ilithic, "Probably standing in front of a mirror making sure every hair was just so."
  165.
  166. Casari grins.
  167.
  168. You grin at Casari.
  169.
  170. You say in Ilithic, "She always seems so perfect. I don't want to disappoint her, but I don't want to live a dull life, either."
  171.
  172. You say to Casari in Ilithic, "You should come visit us on Aesry, sometime."
  173.
  174. You smile at Casari.
  175.
  176. Casari says in Ilithic, "I'd love to! I've been a few times, it's wonderful."
  177.
  178. Casari says in Ilithic, "But I really don't think you have to worry about disappointing her. I'm sure she'd just be worried for you is all."
  179.
  180. You nod.
  181.
  182. You say in Ilithic, "I just don't know what she would say. I have... not been behaving in ways she would approve."
  183.
  184. Casari asks in Ilithic, "Oooh?"
  185.
  186. Casari asks in Ilithic, "Aside from running off to Aesry with some boy, you mean?"
  187.
  188. Casari grins at you.
  189.
  190. You nod to Casari.
  191.
  192. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  193.
  194. You say in Ilithic, "We are short on coin, so Enthal taught me how to..."
  195.
  196. You look around, trying to appear nonchalant.
  197. [Hangman's Noose, Main Bar]
  199. Also here: Casari.
  200. Obvious exits: east, south.
  201.
  202. Casari raises an eyebrow.
  203.
  204. You whisper to Casari, "He taught me how to take items from other peoples' homes."
  205.
  206. Casari laughs!
  207.
  208. Casari says in Ilithic, "Oh thank goodness. I didn't know where you were going with that."
  209.
  210. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  211.
  212. You say in Ilithic, "Well..."
  213.
  214. You lean forward.
  215.
  216. You quietly say to Casari in Ilithic, "He did kiss me."
  217.
  218. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  219.
  220. Casari flashes a wide grin.
  221.
  222. Casari asks in Ilithic, "How was it?"
  223.
  224. You blink at Casari.
  225.
  226. You ask in Ilithic, "How was it?"
  227.
  228. You ask in Ilithic, "What do you mean?"
  229.
  230. Casari asks in Ilithic, "Well did it like make you feel all bendy and light headed?"
  231.
  232. The bronze wyvern comes to rest upon Casari's left wrist, and its wings continue to slowly open and close, causing light to shimmer across their surface.
  233.
  234. You giggle.
  235.
  236. You nod to Casari.
  237.
  238. Casari smiles.
  239.
  240. You say in Ilithic, "I know I shouldn't have, but..."
  241.
  242. You say in Ilithic, "He made a wager on a dice roll and won."
  243.
  244. Casari rolls her eyes.
  245.
  246. Casari says in Ilithic, "Oh my goodness, don't tell me you fell for that."
  247.
  248. You ask in Ilithic, "Fell for what?"
  249.
  250. You peer quizzically at Casari.
  251.
  252. Casari says in Ilithic, "You're going to play dice with a magic-using gypsy and expect it to go any way other than the way he wants? Don't be silly, Silly. He just wanted an excuse to kiss you. Although... nothing wrong with that."
  253.
  254. Casari grins.
  255.
  256. You ponder.
  257.
  258. You ask in Ilithic, "Are you suggesting he rigged the dice somehow?"
  259.
  260. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "Well of course!"
  261.
  262. Casari says in Ilithic, "That's what I would do, anyway."
  263.
  264. Casari shrugs.
  265.
  266. You ponder.
  267.
  268. You ask in Ilithic, "How could he predict what the dice would roll?"
  269.
  270. Casari giggles.
  271.
  272. Casari says in Ilithic, "I thought you said he was a moon mage."
  273.
  274. You nod.
  275.
  276. You say in Ilithic, "He is."
  277.
  278. Casari gives you a gentle poke in the ribs.
  279.
  280. Casari asks in Ilithic, "You don't get out much, do you?"
  281.
  282. You say in Ilithic, "But I was the one who rolled the dice."
  283.
  284. You shake your head at Casari.
  285.
  286. You say in Ilithic, "He gave me the dice and predicted I would roll a seven."
  287.
  288. You ponder.
  289.
  290. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "You don't even need magic to fix the dice. And if you have it, all the easier. Plus, they see the darn future!"
  291.
  292. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  293.
  294. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "I... I did not consider that."
  295.
  296. Casari teasingly says in Ilithic, "Stick with me, kid. I'll teach you everything."
  297.
  298. You giggle at Casari.
  299.
  300. You say in Ilithic, "It sounds like I have much to learn."
  301.
  302. Casari says in Ilithic, "You're supposed to be the big sister, you know. I should scold you."
  303.
  304. Casari says in Ilithic, "But wait, we're getting off topic here."
  305.
  306. You ponder.
  307.
  308. You ask in Ilithic, "Are we?"
  309.
  310. Casari asks in Ilithic, "So you think she would have a problem with you kissing him? Is that ALL that happened?"
  311.
  312. You look at Casari and blush.
  313.
  314. Casari gasps!
  315.
  316. Casari covers her mouth with her hand.
  317.
  318. You hesitantly say in Ilithic, "I mean... we did not..."
  319.
  320. You blush furiously!
  321.
  322. Casari grabs you by the shoulders and shakes you!
  323.
  324. You say in Ilithic, "We only had so much coin to afford a room. We have... had to share."
  325.
  326. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "Tell me everything!"
  327.
  328. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  329.
  330. You say in Ilithic, "Well..."
  331.
  332. You lean forward.
  333.
  334. You quietly say to Casari in Ilithic, "After we kissed... a few times... we decided that we wanted to be... more than friends."
  335.
  336. The bronze wyvern comes to rest upon Casari's left wrist, and its wings continue to slowly open and close, causing light to shimmer across their surface.
  337.
  338. Casari gawks at you.
  339.
  340. You quietly say in Ilithic, "We have decided to pursue a courtship... but we are not telling anyone."
  341.
  342. Casari stares blankly into the distance.
  343.
  344. Casari says in Ilithic, "That turned very Evyntine very quickly."
  345.
  346. Casari chuckles to herself.
  347.
  348. You ponder.
  349.
  350. You ask in Ilithic, "What do you mean?"
  351.
  352. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "All prim and proper and following rules and traditions and... stiff!"
  353.
  354. You ask in Ilithic, "Stiff?"
  355.
  356. Casari nods to you.
  357.
  358. You say in Ilithic, "But... we are sharing a bed..."
  359.
  360. You say in Ilithic, "Room..."
  361.
  362. You say in Ilithic, "We are sharing a room..."
  363.
  364. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  365.
  366. Casari cackles!
  367.
  368. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "I didn't mean like that!"
  369.
  370. Casari asks in Ilithic, "But go on, you're sharing a bed, huh?"
  371.
  372. You peer quizzically at Casari.
  373.
  374. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  375.
  376. You nod.
  377.
  378. You ask in Ilithic, "But what did you mean?"
  379.
  380. Casari looks thoughtfully at you.
  381.
  382. Casari says in Ilithic, "Oh wow, you actually have no idea. Well, I guess he's as Evyntine as you are."
  383.
  384. You blink at Casari.
  385.
  386. You say in Ilithic, "He is nothing like us."
  387.
  388. You say in Ilithic, "He gambles."
  389.
  390. You say in Ilithic, "And breaks into houses."
  391.
  392. Casari says in Ilithic, "You gamble and break into houses."
  393.
  394. Casari winks at you.
  395.
  396. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "Which, by the way, in all seriousness... that's so dangerous!"
  397.
  398. Casari says in Ilithic, "Not the gambling. Well, that can be, too. But breaking into people's houses? You're crazy."
  399.
  400. You ask in Ilithic, "Am I?"
  401.
  402. You say in Ilithic, "It was rather fun."
  403.
  404. Casari grins at you.
  405.
  406. You say in Ilithic, "He said it is only dangerous if we get caught."
  407.
  408. You say in Ilithic, "That is kind of true about everything we have been doing."
  409.
  410. You ponder.
  411.
  412. The bronze wyvern comes to rest upon Casari's left wrist, and its wings continue to slowly open and close, causing light to shimmer across their surface.
  413.
  414. Casari says in Ilithic, "You realize... danger is the state BEFORE getting caught, right? You might get away... and you might die, or worse. Or, I don't know, someone could know who your mother is."
  415.
  416. You blink.
  417.
  418. You say in Ilithic, "Oh... I never thought about that."
  419.
  420. You fret.
  421.
  422. You ask in Ilithic, "You think I might get her in trouble? Or that they might tell my mother?"
  423.
  424. Casari asks in Ilithic, "Well, in Aesry, it's more likely they would know who your father is... but still. Wait, weren't you born there?"
  425.
  426. Casari says in Ilithic, "Anyway, yes, imagine if the daughter of Ayrell Evyntine was known to be a burglar."
  427.
  428. You gaze upward.
  429.
  430. You say in Ilithic, "Oh, no."
  431.
  432. Casari says in Ilithic, "Don't get me wrong, I'm super happy that you're having fun. But you have to be careful."
  433.
  434. You give a slight nod.
  435.
  436. You say in Ilithic, "You're right. I guess I was... rather caught up in the moment."
  437.
  438. You blush slightly, the tips of your ears flushing with warmth.
  439.
  440. Casari pats you on the back.
  441.
  442. Casari says in Ilithic, "When you tell your mother, maybe don't mention that part. Or the sharing a bed."
  443.
  444. You nod at Casari, in complete agreement with her views.
  445.
  446. Fluttering around Casari's left wrist, a battle-scarred bronze wyvern turns gracefully through the air, tumbling into a series of turns before resuming its orbiting flight.
  447.
  448. You say in Ilithic, "Yes. I know she would disapprove of that."
  449.
  450. You say in Ilithic, "Both... of that."
  451.
  452. Casari nods emphatically.
  453.
  454. You say in Ilithic, "I only hope she does not learn of where we are. Or that we are there together. You know how mothers can be."
  455.
  456. Casari looks at you and shrugs.
  457.
  458. Casari says in Ilithic, "Mine is a bit more casual than yours, I think."
  459.
  460. Casari grins.
  461.
  462. You nod in agreement.
  463.
  464. You say in Ilithic, "Yes. My mother's noble blood can sometimes make her... difficult."
  465.
  466. Casari laughs softly, trying to hide her amusement.
  467.
  468. Casari says in Ilithic, "When I talked to her, I was trying so hard to remember to be formal."
  469.
  470. Casari says in Ilithic, "I don't usually have any trouble pretending. But she's scary."
  471.
  472. You nod at Casari, in complete agreement with her views.
  473.
  474. You say in Ilithic, "She is quite intimidating, despite how unassuming she can be."
  475.
  476. Casari nods in agreement.
  477.
  478. Casari says in Ilithic, "We have so much catching up to do, but I actually have an appointment I need to make...."
  479.
  480. Casari says in Ilithic, "If I don't see you again here, then I'm definitely finding you in Aesry."
  481.
  482. You nod.
  483.
  484. You say in Ilithic, "Yes. I would love to introduce you to Enthal."
  485.
  486. You beam at Casari!
  487.
  488. Casari nods to you.
  489.
  490. You say in Ilithic, "My mother may not approve, but I think you'll like him."
  491.
  492. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "I hope so!"
  493.
  494. Casari says in Ilithic, "Make sure you find dad before you leave again. You know how he likes to deflect, but I'm preeeetty sure he really misses you."
  495.
  496. You grin at Casari.
  497.
  498. You nod.
  499.
  500. You say in Ilithic, "I just have to hope he doesn't find out anything, either."
  501.
  502. You say to Casari in Ilithic, "Please don't tell him."
  503.
  504. Casari chuckles.
  505.
  506. Casari says in Ilithic, "I won't tell him a thing, but good luck lying to him. He sees right through me."
  507.
  508. You sigh.
  509.
  510. You nod to Casari.
  511.
  512. You say in Ilithic, "That is what I'm afraid of."
  513.
  514. You say in Ilithic, "That he will see right through me, too."
  515.
  516. The bronze wyvern comes to rest upon Casari's left wrist, and its wings continue to slowly open and close, causing light to shimmer across their surface.
  517.
  518. Casari says in Ilithic, "Yeah... because you are not a good liar. Like at all."
  519.
  520. You nod at Casari, in complete agreement with her views.
  521.
  522. You sigh.
  523.
  524. You say in Ilithic, "I have been trying to get better."
  525.
  526. You say in Ilithic, "It's... difficult."
  527.
  528. Casari grins.
  529.
  530. Casari says in Ilithic, "I'll give you some pointers later."
  531.
  532. Casari hugs you, and you wrap your arms around her with a warm smile.
  533.
  534. Casari exclaims in Ilithic, "See you soon!"
  535.
  536. You hug Casari who wraps her arms around you with a warm smile. A faint scent of geshiloira clings to her skin.
  537.
  538. You say in Ilithic, "I can't wait."
  539.
  540. You beam at Casari!
  541.
  542. Casari smiles.
  543.
  544. Casari waves.
  545.
  546. You wave.
  547.
  548. Casari goes east.
