'''The Hero''' is a playable character in ''Super Smash Bros. Ultimate''. He was announced during the E3 Nintendo Direct on June 11th, 2019 as the third DLC character and is the second downloadable character for the Fighters Pass. The Hero is classified as fighter #72.

==Attributes==
* The Hero's default costume is the Luminary from ''Dragon Quest XI'', but has skins based on Erdrick from ''Dragon Quest III'', the hero from ''Dragon Quest VIII'', and the male hero from ''Dragon Quest IV''.
* The hero has an MP Gauge, which is depleted by using magic.
* Their shield can block projectiles.
* The Hero has attacks that are visually similar to [[Marth (SSBU)|Marth]], [[Link (SSBU)|Link]] and [[Joker (SSBU)|Joker's]], namely their up smash, dash attack and back air, respectively.
** It is presumed that they are his up tilt, dash attack and back air, respectively.
* They have a three hit jab, with the first two hits being straight up and down slashes and the last hit having the hero swipe their sword akin to Link's third hit.
* They have a two-hit attack, which consists of a shield bash into an outward swipe. This is presumably forward tilt.
* One of their attacks is a single, strong upward arc slash, presumably up smash.
* Among their magic-based attacks consist of the following:
** A fireball that is presumably chargeable.
** An unnamed attack that has the Hero point his sword upward before slashing down at the opponent, dealing massive knockback.
** Snooze, which is a projectile that sends opponents to sleep if it connects.
** Bounce, which reflects projectiles.
** Krackle Slash, which is a physical slash that freezes opponents.
** Kaclang, which encases the Hero in metal and prevents them from taking knockback.
** Zoom, which allows the Hero to fly up vertically. This presumably also creates tornados beneath them.
** Kamikaze, which has The Hero self-destruct, doing massive knockback to nearby opponents.
** Three other unseen attacks named Sizzle, Psyche Up and Oomph.
