  1. Yuri steps forward, "Greetings all. For those of you who don't know, I am Yuri Makarov, Defends-The-Weak, Elder Philodox of The Shadow Lords, Master of the Challenge for the Sept of the Enduring Spirit." He looks to Dragomir and Chullain, "Today, we are gathered to wittness a challenge between the two garou in front of me." He motions toward them, "As Challenged, Eye of the Storm of the Silver Fangs has chosen a challenge via Facedown. The first person to either turn away, or lose control of their urges loses." He smiles, "Do either of you have any questions or wish to yeild at this time?"

  3. As Chullain moves his right hand slips down into his pocket and the man pulls out a handfull of garlic tossing them into his mouth to chew without much manners or thought. Bits of garlic juice and bits of clove running down through his beard as he looks over the seating and those that fill them. The Fiann himself moving to the center of the amphitheaters cleared area at the bottom moving to settle in beside Yuri as his eyes fall upon the approaching Silverlord. The Fiann giving a small dip of his head to the Silver Fang, Just enough to pass for a respectful greeting before he is turning his focus to Yuri. A slow shake of his head given showing that he was intent to see the challenge through.

  5. <OOC> Gavan would be more amused if he said it out loud.

  7. You paged Aowyn with 'We should drop the temperature like 40 degrees and make them chill it out while changing Wen-di-go. Wen-di-go'
  8. Wyatt whispers to Faith, "Well, I'm going to be rooting for Chullain, since he's a cousin more or less, so if you sit with me, it might be a political act. Then again, we're under the radar for them, mostly. So it won't matter. Our job is to look solemn and impressed and try not to nod off if they stare at each other so long they go cross-eyed. Or more cross-eyed in the case of our more well-bred betters." He finds a seat somewhere close to the stage, sizing up the two. He pauses a moment and adds, "Also, no matter who wins, keep it stone-faced. You don't want to offend somebody who just lost face."

  11. Journey sits with his Pack, watching impassively, watching intently, or watching while eating bacon. Depends on who you're looking at.

  20. Dragomir descends the steps, as though he was walking down from some Ivory Tower or something, and comes to approach the men. He nods his head deeply towards Yuri, in recognition of the Elder's words. His blue-eyes gaze towards Chullain as the man prepares and he nods his head. There is a slow, steady presence to the man - a calm confidence in him as he responds. "I, Eye of the Storm - have no questions, and will not yield." the words stated emphatically.

  24. George is watching quietly, and so is Darren by his side. Apparently the little one is saving questions for later.
  25. Halona totally dragged Sergei with her, both in their homid forms. Even little Antonia has come and they all stand off near wherever Brooke is, fanned out quietly.
  26. Faith gives Wyatt's words some thought as she follows him to a semi-central location. She takes a seat to the side of the Fianna, but on the side of him closest to Dragomir's pack. Whispering back, she gives a solemn nod. Hands settle in her lap and she spends almost as much time looking at the gathered as she does the challengers. Darren's example is the one she now emulates. Much to be learned here indeed.

  31. Gavan continues to watch the posturing from his perch in the cheap seats. The whole yielding of a question and refusing to yield and.. that whole exchange draws a squinting of eyes but naturally no comment. He's not heckling from the peanut gallery.. yet.

  35. Yuri smiles and looks between the two then looks to the others gathered, "If interferes with this challenge or causes a distraction, you will answer to me. I know this is something that should not have to be said, but we do have some new kin here." Looking at the two contestants, "You will begin on my word." He pauses for a few seconds, "Ready..." After a long pause, "Begin!"

  71. Seeing a few faces he recognizes from where he is, which is at the top and he continues to watch having heard what his Elder has said, he grins a little bit. 'I wonder who will win.' he thinks to himself.

  73. Dragomir takes in a slow breath and sets his posture like a fight stance but with his arms down for the moment. The intense gaze of his blue-eyes stare into Chullain's eyes firmly. Beast staring back at Beast - as the quiet contest of resolve and restraint begins. The sheer amount of pure breeding between these two is palpable enough to choke anyone who'd be caught in the middle of this staring match.

  86. Chullain stands there giving a subtle nod when the words to begin are given, The large Fiann stepping in to stand feet infront of Dragomir as his chest raises and falls. The large fiann bringing his arms to cross over his chest. The man near seeming to bristle with anger and rage even as things are only just begining. That tightly wound nature of the Ahroun and especially the Fianna ahroun in particular shown through as he begins to let out a low growl of either warning or challenge to the Silver Fang before him. The Fiann looking to be teetering close to that edge between standing there and watching and just launching himself at the Silver Fang Adren infront of him.

  90. Dragomir's eyes narrow slightly, as the man takes a step forward. His hands extend outwards to either side of his body, as if to make himself larger somehow. The cold intense gaze of his blue-eyes burn as they stare into the warrior's eyes across from him. Another slow and purposeful step forward, as though to indicate some intent to force the larger man back. Willing to stare the rage directly in the eyes - you know, that thing they tell you to never do to a wolf?

  92. When Dragomir steps forward and closer towards the large Irishman that growl from Chullain shifts and grows louder for a moment. The Fiann standing his ground though as his arms remain crossed over his chest. The veins showing that the man was likely holding his hands tucked beneath the arms in fists as that vein along his throat throbs. The Fiann managing to stand and hold that stare for a bit longer not yet backing down or attacking the Silver Fang before him.

  97. Halona bristles ever so slightly at the growl from Chullain, but she keeps herself still, stance shifting just a little bit. Oh, also, Felicity and Alecto are here SOMEWHERE. Probably Vesta too and ... yeah.. all the people are here SOMEWHERE

  99. Journey watches the pair facing off intently. IF anyone in the 'New Kin' category was wondering why you don't meet a Garous eyes? THIS RIGHT HERE!

  102. Brooke cannot take her eyes off watching the challenge in progress, so just gives a shoulder nudge to Halona.
  103. Popcorn. There was supposed to be popcorn at these events, right? Up in the nosebleed section, Starlight Eyes licks his lips and glances around at the attendees almost as if the whole occasion was boring him somehow. No popcorn? Alas. He drops his head back down and keeps watching. Mostly Chullain.
  104. Wyatt watches the two intently and gives a tiny, fractional shake of his head. He looks a bit worried. On one hand, he brought Faith to this. On the other hand, showing any doubt in Chullain would be downright treasonous to the Fianna. After a moment he splits the difference and tries to catch Faith's eye. He tilts his head towards the outer direction of their seating area and murmurs, almost silently, "Might want to back up a bit." He, however, isn't going to move. Unless an actual fight breaks out. In which case, he figures he'll be running so fast that cartoon physics will take over.
  105. Yuri crosses his arms and looks between the two. A dark smile on his face. His two goons look a little uneasy since theyre the closest squishy things to the rou glaring at each other.
  106. Faith doesn't look like much of anything aside from intensely interested. Her body language is, perhaps deceptively, relaxed despite formality as she simply shakes her head a little at Wyatt's warning. Movement attracts attention. Fuck that.
  107. George has bacon jerky from his smoke house, he eats a piece and then offers some to Darren. Darren looks up at the Elder wide eyed and takes a piece slowly and just stares at it.
  108. Aowyn leans forward in her seat in quiet anticipation to see who will back down first. From her perspective, the people surrounding her watching are very, very quiet. No one wants to cause a distraction. When the growling begins she purposefully draws her posture to sit with attention. These things can take time. And she's also prepared to move fast, if things go south.

  111. Dre is watching the challenge, but he does look up from time to time and is not walking slowly around the top of the stands scanning the area, making sure everything is ok and secured before looking back down at the challenge.

  136. The intensity is building, the challenge continues and locked gaze between two warriors of Gaia only results in a few ways. Dragomir is the annoying depiction of calm, you'd expect from a man rited Eye of the Storm. Hands extended outwards, like claws as if he was going to leap on Chullain at any moment - as he tries to mentally 'back him into a corner' with his gaze. This test of dominance isn't without its own threat though, as the Russian emboldens his brooding stare in the face of the Ahroun.

  146. As Dragomir brings those hands to extend outwards Chullain actually steps in closer. The man bringing his larger form within inches of the ranking Garou's. His gaze focused intently upon Dragomir's own as that growl slipping from him edged in rage and the more primal nature of the Lupus garou grows louder. The threat and challenge there within that tone that leaves the Fiann before Dragomir. The Fiann's body weight slowly shifting as his arms lower to reveal those clawed fingers edged into his palm as if in some attempt to keep him calm..an attempt that given the looks and body language of the Fiann is a losing battle as he seems more ready than ever to pounce the Silver Fang and begin ripping into him, But for now.. The Fiann stands fast and holds that natural instinct and the desire drawn by the rage within.
  147. Journey leans forward slightly, watching as the Facedown continues, looking between the contestants, silent and watchful.
  148. George quirks an eyebrow and leans forward, watching intently and going very very still.
  149. Aowyn pages: I have done the same. And had a heart to heart, which he probably doesn't remember. He has kids in the room. His wife in the room. And the computer is in the living room I think he said. So he's constantly distracted, multiple screens open. And I swear he smokes pot. He's a good person ooc. But I told him, he doesn't pay attention to the screen. Poses. Doesn't respond appropriately. Idles in scenes. Doesn't contribute. And I'm done. Just done. I've given him like 234 tries. Just done now after the poop scene. And I don't feel bad anymore, because I'll rp with anyone. But he was clearly disrespectful.

  234. Deep Forest - Amphitheater
  235.  
  236. The amphitheater is a place for those within the sept to hold gatherings of any kind. Anything from moots, to any number of challenges, to stories that are told, as well as a place to meet for present as well as future plans to be discussed for the sept as a whole, and a variety of other things of importance. Like the rest of the caern, this area is covered within the thickness of the underground forest. Mountainous trees reside all around and throughout here as they stretch high into the heavens of this cavernous place forming a dense canopy overhead. Sounds of life can often be heard as well as the whisperings of the spirits on a soft and harmonious breeze. The area of the amphitheater has been cut back to form a wide open space that could easily fit several hundreds of individuals.
  237. At the very center of the area is a half-domed sphere-shaped structure made from stone. Beneath the dome is a flat and wide stage also carved out of stone and provides ample room for any number of shifters or kinfolk alike to use it. Surrounding the front and to both sides of the stage are various large logs that have been formed out tree trunks. Each log is cut in half as the flat part has been turned face-down so as to serve as a comfortable place to sit. The top of each log where an individual might place themselves is smoothed and sanded over to help add support as well provide for cushioning if just a bit. The land starting from the where the main stage is ascends upwards so that each sitting area isn't on the same level as the others and thus providing everyone a chance to see whether taller or shorter in height. The air here is thick with moisture and lies heavy upon the flesh like a second skin.
  238. Often soupy mists of fog creep into the area like opalescent tendrils searching for prey. The swift umbral winds that bleed in from the heart and stream throughout the entirety of the caern aid in making the place rather pleasant to be in and easier to see one's surroundings as well as serves as a means for a refreshing, cool, breeze. The ground is soft and covered with a dense moss as well as rich, green, grass. Often individuals might come here even when there's no event going on if but to have a place to simply talk in private or perhaps enjoy a picnic with family, friends, lovers, and pack mates. The feel of the area one might get from these grounds is that of a past rich with life, and full of meaning. There's quite a bit of history here within this place and the legends of previous times before today's age can nearly be felt as a physical representation that could easily touch one's heart and soul.

  359. The first signs of frustration start to ebb from Dragomir - hitting the impassable wall with this, stirs the rage within the half-moon. He warns as the muscles tighten in his body and the instincts start to boil to the surface slowly more now. The eye is narrowing, and the storm is coming to the surface now.

The shifting depths of normally vibrant emerald and startling blue darkened by the Ahroun's anger and the rage boiling so close to the surface. The man's entire form showing the strain of resisting that natural urge. Those faster deeper breaths of anger leaving him in an attempt to calm himself and stand fast bringing that scent of garlic and a recent kill to the air from his lips where that growl slips free.

  407. Deep Forest - Amphitheater
  408.  
  409. The amphitheater is a place for those within the sept to hold gatherings of any kind. Anything from moots, to any number of challenges, to stories that are told, as well as a place to meet for present as well as future plans to be discussed for the sept as a whole, and a variety of other things of importance. Like the rest of the caern, this area is covered within the thickness of the underground forest. Mountainous trees reside all around and throughout here as they stretch high into the heavens of this cavernous place forming a dense canopy overhead. Sounds of life can often be heard as well as the whisperings of the spirits on a soft and harmonious breeze. The area of the amphitheater has been cut back to form a wide open space that could easily fit several hundreds of individuals.
  410. At the very center of the area is a half-domed sphere-shaped structure made from stone. Beneath the dome is a flat and wide stage also carved out of stone and provides ample room for any number of shifters or kinfolk alike to use it. Surrounding the front and to both sides of the stage are various large logs that have been formed out tree trunks. Each log is cut in half as the flat part has been turned face-down so as to serve as a comfortable place to sit. The top of each log where an individual might place themselves is smoothed and sanded over to help add support as well provide for cushioning if just a bit. The land starting from the where the main stage is ascends upwards so that each sitting area isn't on the same level as the others and thus providing everyone a chance to see whether taller or shorter in height. The air here is thick with moisture and lies heavy upon the flesh like a second skin.
  411. Often soupy mists of fog creep into the area like opalescent tendrils searching for prey. The swift umbral winds that bleed in from the heart and stream throughout the entirety of the caern aid in making the place rather pleasant to be in and easier to see one's surroundings as well as serves as a means for a refreshing, cool, breeze. The ground is soft and covered with a dense moss as well as rich, green, grass. Often individuals might come here even when there's no event going on if but to have a place to simply talk in private or perhaps enjoy a picnic with family, friends, lovers, and pack mates. The feel of the area one might get from these grounds is that of a past rich with life, and full of meaning. There's quite a bit of history here within this place and the legends of previous times before today's age can nearly be felt as a physical representation that could easily touch one's heart and soul.

  890. There is something horrific about Garou in their Crinos-form. They have been bred and designed for battle, for lethality.. for death. These are not games they play. Eye of the Storm brings his claw around, and levels it visciously on Claws for Gaia to put the wolf down hard. The action is cruel, brutal and deliberate. The strength of the attack enough to rend a building in half.. it was meant to be decisive. To end this challenge, to put down a Garou that has lost itself to the Wyrm. >>Sit, Claws-for-Gaia'ikthya!<< the cruel judgement of the Philodox.

  893. Like the Wind lunges forward, shifting to her lupus form as she goes. As Claws falls, she slows, and then just comes to a stop slightly behind her Alpha.

  896. Aowyn has disconnected.
  897. Yuri looks down at the fallen Ahroun, "Enough! Everyone, return to your seats!" He looks to Eye of the Storm, "And you, Step back!" Turning to Journey, "Journey, can you please tend to the Fianna's wounds? The challenge is over."
  898. The Fiann is taken down after that forced shifting back to his birth form after those few lunches and attempts to snatch hold of the Silver Fang. When is is brought down the Fiann's large lupus form goes still, The breathing ragged as the lupus born Fiann is broken by that blow and send into the dark embrace of unconciousness.
  899. Gavan was just getting a head of steam under him. The overlarge juggernaught of a wolf was moving with a lightning quickness. But not so lightning as the conflict happening before him. Starlight Eyes watches as the mighty Claws For Gaia is laid to lupus then laid to the ground with a mighty swipe of a claw. He digs his own claws into the the boards as he moves, slowing his run awkwardly until he finally reaches the base of the amphitheatre on the last seat. There, instead of leaping to the fray, he simply sits.

  901. As the battle looks over, and the challenge lost, Dusk closes his eyes, and draws a long, slow breath. His head bows while he makes a hand gesture. An aura of peace begins to emanate from him.
  902. Dusk's BASE DONA_NOBIS_PACEM is at least 1
  903. Wyatt winces at the sight of the big wolf being brutally brought to earth. When it is obvious that the violence is over, he sighs in faintly shamed relief and looks around to see if any of Claws' packmates or family are in attendance. If not, he figures the task of getting the unconscious wolf bandaged and home might fall on him. Either way, he definitely doesn't want to be there when the warrior awakens.

  905. Brooke keeps Antonia and Felicity behind her, as well as any other kin nearby. Guarding them all, directing them to sit and relax. Especially Felicity...she is most important, and she keeps a hand on her to monitor her carefully.

  912. Eye of the Storm stands ready to put the wolf down again if need be, but seeing his claws rend the creature and the garou's blood drip he stands cold and watches. Soon the garou shifts back down to that of Dragomir, fingers stained still with blood as he stands there and watches. A single step back, before he lifts his blue-eyed gaze towards Yuri. A faint snarl from the man, before he says, "This could have been handled with words, Defends-the-Weak'rhya." obviously not pleased to see a fallen warrior by his hand. The man scowls and takes another step back now.
  913. Like the Wind steps back as Dragomir does, though she's still in her lupus form. She moves with the ease of long practice, staying a half step behind her Alpha
  914. Claws for Gaia remains still and silent upon the floor of the amphitheater, Blood flowing from those clawmarks along his back and sides to mingle with the dirt beneath his motionless form. His breathing shallow and slow, near ragged at times.
  915. Faith is half couched near Wyatt, and as everything settles she simply remains there. Still quiet, absorbing the lessons. Though there's something that snaps her attention. About the time Dusk raises his hand, she peers about and starts to rise to her feet, reaching to touch the Fianna kinfolk's arm as she leans in to whisper to him.

Of course, given that he was speaking to another kin and not looking at any of the Garou, it is the kind of comment one can ignore. The potential waste and senselessness of the challenge are frustrating. No matter how long one lives among the wolves, some of their decisions and values are still alien to modern humans. He shakes his head and starts towards Claws, unsure that anyone else is going to help the downed wolf.

  1071. When he is given that healing touch that brings him from unconciousness and heals some of the wounds he sustained the fallen Fianna makes a pained whimper as he begins to move. The Fiann looking around in alarm and confusion before that realization sets in. The weight of that frenzy and the extent of the effect of that realization when it dawns upon him showing in his body language. That tail dropping and curling protectively against his form as he looks around almost wild in that moment before he begins to rush towards the stairs leading out of the amphitheater with a look of actual fear and something else.
  1072. Concentrating on maintaining the aura of peace, Dusk only maintains staying out of the way of the retreating Garou.

"I think we're done here." and he turns to start walking off now - obviously not in the best of moods after having to put a warrior of Gaia down like that. The Lupus born Fianna ahroun with those partly healed wounds revealing scarring across his side and coated in blood and holding other non-healed claw marks over his other side moves up those stairs as quickly as he can. The Fiann moving off in defeat and hatred, not towards the silver fang but towards himself given the growls he gives and the frantic lupus that leaves the wolf as he takes his leave.
