- Due to the recent events, the world is a bit of a mixed bag and left in various states of being. Some places are left in complete chaos; others are extremely prosperous and left shining within a golden age. Whatever the case, here are the main countries in the world of Nobella. I would prefer you begin in these countries, however, there are isles that can be found outside of these continents should nothing suit your fancy.
- Currency: Valmastran Marks.
- Valmastre: Although Valmastre is the smallest country found on the isle of Volarum, it still maintains a position among the world as one of the leading superpowers thanks to its strong military and advanced technology. It's one of the few countries that actually rose to great heights thanks to the war, suffering no casualties within its own borders, but reaping plenty of rewards. This is thanks to it being the original headquarters set for the Golden Circle.
- Valmastre is a country that prides itself in its military might, and is known for calling Thaumaturges to their service as war generals. These Thaumaturges are given excellent benefits and are generally given a high ranking position within the military. Valmastre is heavily policed, but what makes other countries somewhat nervous is its habit for attempting to police places outside of its own borders. The people of Valmastre are very patriotic, and their country is often likened as 'The World's Police force'
- Tech Level: Quite high. Valmastre's weapons are quite advanced. Thaumaturgical research is likewise high and generally weaponized due to the Thaumaturges being placed in high-standing positions among the military. Many scientists and Thaumaturges alike are usually, in some way, associated with the military, and are focused heavily on fueling the Valmastren war machine.
- Landscaping: Valmastre is a bit of a mixed bag. For the most part, the country consists of rolling, sprawling hills with a forested country side outside of the main cities. The North of Valmastre is covered in pine forests and tundra, leading towards a long mountain chain that cuts it off from the country of Razanik.
- Archmage: Valmastre's Archmagus is Gus. Gus is among the younger Thaumaturges within the council and is renown for playing a key part in the war on Kane. He's known for being one of Izumi's greatest apprentices. Gus is widely known as the 'fastest man alive' and is known for using magic to give him exceptional speed.
- Gus fought directly with Kane and provided the killing blow, alongside two other powerful Thaumaturges; one including Izumi herself.

- Currency: Florins (5=1 Valmastran Mark
- Floria: Once a country known for its beauty and nature, Floria was originally the tourist capital of the world thanks to its beautiful sights provided by its lush swamps, spanning glades, and unique wildlife. Unfortunately, it was one of the major victims of the wars that ravaged Volarum during Kane's reign. Once containing wonderful cities of marble and vast fields of rural farmland, Floria is now often split into two sections.
- 'The North', where all the Flux and few farmers are left, and then the south, which fortunately managed to survive through most of the war. Many of the remaining major cities still stand today however, but due to the scars the war left behind, the country's tourism has been quite low. Undead creatures left from the war still wander aimlessly to this day, and corrupted creatures from the Flux-blighted often attack anything unfortunate enough to cross their path.
- Tech Level: Floria is generally considered one of the 'better off' countries despite the horrible losses it suffered during the war. Its technology is relatively advanced; thanks to assistance from their Valmastren allies.
- Landscaping: As previously mentioned, Floria is often considered to be divided into two halves. The northern portion of Floria is unfortunately nearly uninhabitable due to the flux tainting the swamp, reducing it to a corrupted mire. The few that live in the north are far and few between. Fortunately, there's just enough fertile soil for rural farmlands to be found among this.
- Aside from that, Floria is mostly wide and open fields as far as the eye can see in the south. Very few hills to find, but the rivers and plains still provide plenty of opportunity for even more farmland. Most of the cities are built within the hills or few mountains within the country, cobbled out of marble.
- Archmage: Clyde is the youngest Archmage of the council, but is widely recognized as a decorated war veteran of the Golden Circle, having managed to slay two of Kane's apostles within his lifetime. After the war, the Archmage of Floria was unfortunately defeated, leaving Clyde to take up the mantle.
- Clyde is a very popular man among the Florian media and is often seen as a bit of a figurehead for clearing up the pollution that's mucking up the world. To this day, he's still leading a relief effort with Valmastre in hopes of removing the flux that taints the once-beautiful forests of Floria. In terms of magic, Clyde is mostly known for his skill in manipulating electricity and weather almost flawlessly, and is often widely depicted in cartoons as the 'Tornado wrangler' for his ability to halt twisters from tearing up the flat country side.

- Currency: Nix (Equal to Marks)
- Razanik: The Largest country in all of Volarum. Razanik spans out for a majority of the northern continent; which is actually mostly uninhabited due to the harsh and bitter living conditions that the north provides. Similar to Valmastre, Razanik is known for having a very 'might-makes-right' approach and manufactures a very strong military. However, they're far more isolationist by nature, often keeping among themselves and finding themselves at odds with their Valmastren neighbor.
- Tech Level: Razanik employs rugged yet cutting edge technology. While by no means unfamiliar with Thaumaturgy, Razanik prefers a more technological approach to things. They like to rely on objects that are strong, reliable, and dependable. This has lead to them being a little behind in the magical arms race, but their technology still remains unrivaled; especially with their armada of airships.
- A lot of Razanik's established cities are actually build underground, or around geothermally active areas. They typically rely on geothermal energy for heating and energy alike.
- Landscaping: Cold and harsh, most of Razanik is a bitter tundra. Permafrost clings to the ground, covering over the earth with thick sheets of ice. Pine forests can be found scattered across the country side, if the area isn't taken up by an enormous mountain. The far north of Razanik is mostly covered by shelves of ice. Labor camps are quite common within these areas; where prisoners are sent to spend their days tapping into the deeply buried resources.
- Archmage: The Archmage of Razanik is Taras. Taras is frequently butting heads with the Razanikan Czar, which leads to a bit of a divide among their people. On one hand, many are grateful that the man keeps their nation in check by making sure they hold their tongue. On the other, many long for a much more assertive, less conservative Archmagus.
- Taras is known world-wide for having quite possibly the largest mana pool in all of Nobella. So vast in fact ,that it's reported he's capable of creating artifacts with just his own power alone. This lead to him forging a strong alliance between Razanik and Atros, where he and Nickolas work together to create innovative and powerful magitech for the betterment of the world.

- Currency: Dinero(100=1 Valmastren Mark)
- Barione: Of all the countries that suffer from the war from the False Gods, Barione is by far the one that suffered the most. What was once a beautiful country filled with a dense jungle and vast forest is now reduced to nothing more than an impoverished wasteland. An empty, dry desert with few life wandering the wastes. These blasted heaths, winding deserts and tainted glades have lead to the country being mostly uninhabitable. Fortunately, its inhabitants have managed to make do with what little they have.
- Barione is now known for being very wild and free. A lot of criminals often exile themselves to Barione thanks to its vast and empty expanse, allowing for them to safely hide themselves away from would-be authorities. It's also lead to it becoming what's essentially a true democracy; the only thing that really leads the nation is the Archmage, and even then, posses and the voice of the people often outshine his own laws.
- Technology: Barionese technology is shoddy at best, and unreliable every other time. A lot of their weaponry is crafted through cannibalizing other parts together, leading to clunky weapons that just as likely to burst onto the user. Architecture is generally made from dried mud-bricks or worn wood; and that's generally considered a luxury. Outside of that, housing can be created from hastily cobbled scrap metal.
- Landscaping: As mentioned before, Barione is very much on the dry side. Most of the country is made up of cracked wastelands or winding deserts. The wildlife also took a hit too, with a lot of mutated creatures running amuck from the excess flux that still lingers in certain areas across the country. There are still a few left over forests here and there, but most have been long burnt or destroyed during the war.
- Fortunately, there are a few bastions left in Barione. Typically in the form of lush oases that infrequently dot the bone-dry wastes. The capital city still stands and remains beautiful however, and is centered entirely around an old leftover lake.
- Archmage: The Archmage of Barione is named Salvador. Salvador is a long-standing council member and is known for finding several secrets among Thaumaturgy that only he himself knows of. He's often blamed for the current state of Barione however, and is often seen as a bit of a scapegoat due to his inability to return Barione back to its former glory.
- Aside from this, Salvador is one of the few Archmaguses that don't really have any real known traits about their Thaumaturgy; he's notoriously secretive, and has yet to explain how his magic works to this day

- Currency: Trites (2 Trites=1 Mark)
- Atros: Of all the nations within Nobella, very few are as widely known as Atros. Most importantly, Atros is the country where the media was initially invented; most of the media across the world is also through Atros, as many of the well known celebrities are known for coming from the country. Atran culture focuses heavily on advertisement and broadcast, and their deep love and respect for the fine arts comes in many different forms. Broadcasting through the radio? Likely brought to you by your lovely Atran talkshow host.
- Despite their love for art, Atros itself isn't a pretty country. Most of its population is centered into an enormous industrial megacity that folks often call a 'concrete jungle'. Spires and towers pump out the polluted by-products into the air, whether it be smog that chokes the pastels from the sky, or corrupting flux that taints and seeps into the environment.
- The Atran people are all about innovation through any means necessary; very few laws are placed on the big businesses, leaving them plenty of freedom to expand through various venues. Thaumaturgical research is, likewise, very rarely restrained. This lead to many Atran Thaumaturges to rise to prominence throughout History, including Kane and Cecile themselves, as well as Percival, one of the Apostles notorious for being one of the sparks for the Atran rebellion.
- Technology: Atran is often seen as the cornerstone to all technology; Thaumaturgical or otherwise. Despite this, they eschew safety regulations and care very little for the hindrance that comes with advancement. Many Atran products are generally artifacts designed to make life easier, some of which can tend to come with dangerous side effects, but not all.
- Atros, as previously mentioned, is also the one nation behind the invention of mass media today, leading to your television, cartoons, and more recently, video games!
- Landscaping: Atran Landscaping? That's a joke. Most of the country is covered by the industrial megacity that constantly expands from the center. This enormous city continues to add and annex parts of the isle to itself, only growing over time to cover the world with a sprawling megacity. The skies are choked of their colours, grey and often snuffed out by thick smog, or if you're lucky, shimmering pretty from the flux infested air. Some parts of Atros are actually given special flux masks specifically to breathe the atmosphere.
- Still, outside of that, Atros does have a bit of a landscape. Most of Atros outside of the city life is dead or tainted, with corrupted glades from the flux infesting chunks of ground. The few bastions left include the several mini-islands floating around the mainland, which are actually protected thanks to the council of elders. These islands are etched in special runes designed to repel most of the lingering flux, preserving the wildlife and keeping nature the way it was.
- These lands are forbidden from industrial use; but farmers are actively encouraged to make a living on these islets. Celebrity farmers are actually quite common in Atros.
- Archmage: Nickolas is a relatively young member of the council who many Atrans consider a little more 'progressive' from their traditions. Still, his deep fondness in magitech has lead to many different inventions that improve the Atran health and lifestyle; such as the aforementioned runic isles protected from the pollution. Most recently, he's halved the flux output of Atros.
- Nickolas is primarily known for his ability to create and program artifacts, but he's also known for manufacturing crystals with his magic, which are capable of containing his mana for a variety of different purposes.

- Currency: Qui ('Key'; 100 Key=1 Mark)
- Fyria: Fyria is the strongest nation in the western continent, often overshadowing the other two within Dolarum. Fyrian culture widely regards honour and a strict sense of discipline. Most notably, Fyria is divided into multiple noble houses that are typically well-established Thaumaturges, whom hand down their teachings from time to time in hopes of cultivating an apprentice worthy of finding a spot within the council of elders.
- Fyria widely regards traditional art and perfection; quality over quantity, essentially. Architects meticulously craft the many houses within the country, and homes are sometimes shared by the entire family due to the scale that the homes can provide.
- Technology: While Fyria has always been proud of showing off their Thaumaturgical capabilities; they're found lacking in terms of actual technology. Most of Fyria is ran through Thaumaturgical or magical means, rather than technological. Magitech is very common among the Fyrian nation.
- Though Fyria is very proud to show off their Thaumaturgy, they have very strict rules and regulations designed to keep the flux at its minimum.
- Landscaping: A lot of dense jungles can be found across Fyria; with buildings of wood serving as their main lodgings. This vast jungle takes up nearly the entire nation, but it eventually dips off to thick marshlands that are found at the far south, leading to waterfalls that stream off from the sides of the isle during the rainy seasons.
- Archmage: The Archsorceress of Fyria is Izumi. Izumi is the oldest living Archmagus -- and possibly being, within the council. Having reached over two hundred years of age, Izumi has a powerful cursed artifact to thank for this. This has given her ample time to more or less perfect nearly every tree of magic, and even left her time to invent her own powerful spells.
- Izumi is often seen as the leader of the Council of Elders; even though there is no official 'leader' among the seven Archmagus, her word is generally the most respected due to her years serving as the Archmage. Scandals are fairly frequent with her however, as her long lifespan lead to her living a life of decadence, leading her to indulge in her whims due to the nigh-unlimited time she has on her hands.
- ------------------------------------
- Currency: Gi (50 Gi=1 Mark)
- Zhen is often considered the 'younger brother' of Fyria; the two nations are very often bundled together in various alliances, and are known to work closely together in their worldly affairs. Despite this, it's a lot more quiet than Fyria, and almost always refuses to involve itself in potentially violent matters unless heavily provoked. Religion and spirituality are what influence the Zhengese way; they believe that through valor and self-perfection that they can achieve a truly peaceful world.
- While Zhen is ruled by the Archmage like many other nations, it's also divided into 10 Provinces which are entrusted with one noble family for each province, referred to as a Harbinger. These Harbingers are trusted to keep the peace within their province.
- Technology: Zhen is a lot like Fyria in that a lot of technology is invested in magitech. The difference is that a lot of their Thaumaturgical creations are typically focused more upon medicinal uses or ways to help aid in every day life, rather focusing on weapons and warfare.
- Zhen is very natural and preserves nature in any way it can; there are little to no industrial zones within the country, which leads to it being a little secluded from the media and common happenings outside of its nation.
- Landscaping: A lot of Zhen is mainly hilly river valleys and lush, beautiful environments. Agriculture is a very important thing to Zhengese culture; with most settlements found built around one of the many rivers.
- Archmage: The Archmage of Zhen is Kwane. Kwane is among the older Archmaguses in the world, and according to several leaked sources, is the only one aside from Izumi that has achieved 'immortality'. This closely guarded secret still has yet to be elaborated upon, but Kwane has proven to be nigh-unkillable through conventional means, and served as an incredible asset during the war with Kane.
- Many Zhengese people revere Kwane as a sort of 'God', and often liken him to the pinnacle of their people.
- --------------------------
- Currency: Malkan relies moreso on a barter system than actual currency.
- Malkan: Often called the 'Harpie Country', Malkan is the native homeland to the Malkanese people; a race of avian-human hybrids that are known to possess the natural ability of flight. For the most part, Malkan shares a very similar culture to the Zhengese; with a heavy focus towards finding one's self-perfection. Malkan is a curious nation; its people are filled with an innate wanderlust that leads to them traveling across the world in search for what it has to offer, something that their winged nature helps them a lot with.
- Though they're often focused on self-perfection, they tend to approach it a bit differently from the usually laid-back Zhengese. The Malkanese are far more outgoing than their neighbors. Their innate wanderlust leads to them wishing to 'find' self perfection instead, and their culture tends to be heavily focused upon various celebrations and opportunities for them to 'let loose'. Venting is a very important thing to the Malkanese people, as letting all of that build up is said to be a blockage to self-perfection.
- Harpies that fly out of Malkan are known for being invaluable couriers. In fact, job opportunities around the world specifically seek Malkanese people for their ability to act as couriers.
- Technology: The Malkanese people are a little less inventive compared to the many other main nations on this list. Instead, they more rely on picking up and gathering what culture they find out in their travels. A lot of Malkanese technology is derived from old artifacts dug up from the past, or shared to them through the many other nations around them.
- Landscaping: Malkan is mostly a mountain, leading to it being almost uninhabitable. Fortunately, the Malkanese are capable of making use of these high areas and have adapted to living within these conditions over time, and form their own huts or stone buildings carved right into the mountains.
- Archmage: The Archmage of Malkan is Feylin, and she is, unsurprisingly, the only Harpie to be found among the council. Feylin is mostly known for her monstrous strength, and is often seen as a bit of a poster-child when advertising for Malkanese couriers. Depictions of the woman effortlessly lifting boulders or sundering mountains, along with her trademark stylized hair, lead to her being a very popular icon in mass media.
- Feylin is widely regarded by her people as the ruling queen of Malkan.
