Ame Neox - Interview

[19:41] Nicholas Philly gets his tablet out and opens the recording app and his notes from her application he would continue "Good evening Ms. Neox we're here tonight for your interview for the Position of Emergency Telecommunicator with the Cedar Creek Police Department, This interview will be recorded for review by the hiring board should the recommendation to hire be made. Do you agree to have this conversation recorded for that purpose?"
[19:43] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) Shifted on the couch to get comfortable, her fingers fiddling with her blazer while he readied his tablet. A soft smile spread across her lips "Good evening" she replies "I agree to be recorded"
[19:47] Nicholas Philly nods "okay cool, so do you have any experience as a dispatcher?"
[19:48] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) Shook her head to indicate no "I don't, but I am a quick learner. Unless you consider wrangling kids up as any sort of experience"
[19:51] Nicholas Philly laughs "well that type of experience will help for sure! Are you currently employed anywhere in Cedar Creek, or out of town?"
[19:54] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle): Grins cheekily "I am not, Sir. I am technically a retired elementary school teacher but during those storms we had not long ago - my daughter Rene seemed to be running around like a chicken with her head cut off - and I realize there might be a need"
[20:01] Nicholas Philly smiles "there is a need for sure. But you should understand that dispatching isn't an easy job, you will need good organizational skills as you will be keeping track of several units at a time, and maybe on 3 or 4 calls at a time in different areas. The officers and firefighters may radio in and ask for additional information and you may need to contact the reporting party to get it, or you may need to relay info to the caller. You may have situations where the Officers and or firefighters get frustrated with you because they often times forget that you can't see whats going on, and they your only giving them what information you have. They may also ask you for directions (they shouldn't but they might). And even if they get snippy or cop an attitude with you on the radio you must always remain professional, and may need to bite your tongue until you can speak with their supervisor, or have them come to the station for a face to face conversation."
[20:06] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) Listens intently to the aforementioned list. Admittedly, it was quite a laundry list of items. None of this bothered her though and the palms of her hands pressed against her knees as she leaned forward "Have you ever been in a room full of crazy 5 year olds" she jests with a laugh and when that fades, her features twist into seriousness "I understand it is not easy and I can see how it could get frustrating for everyone but like I always say 'Just remember to breathe', things happen in the heat of the moment but at the end of the day everyone is a team."
[20:16] Nicholas Philly smiles "basically the same thing yeah! okay so really there isn't much to this interview a few more questions then on to the hard part! Have you ever used medications or drugs that were not prescribed to you by a doctor or used them in a manner in which they were not prescribed, including use of any recreational drugs?"
[20:19] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) "I am sure there is some similarities and differences" she eased back, her legs crossing again. She pondered the question for a moment and in the spirit of being transparent she said "Well, perhaps when I was in my teens, some recreational use. Those were certainly not prescribed, least not by a doctor" chuckling softly as she continued "Not in many many years though"
[20:28] Nicholas Philly nods he would take a few notes on his tablet and continues "How would your friends describe you?"
[20:29] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) Lifts a brow "Hmm, I think that is a harder question." her index finger taps on her thigh as she answers "Quiet at times, loyal, sense of humor, easy going, hard working and respectful"
[20:30] Nicholas Philly smiles and takes a few more notes before moving on "Tell me about something in your life that you would consider to be your greatest failure or regret, what you did about it, and how you learned from it."
[20:33] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) Observes him taking notes and her gaze flicks down to the tablet and back up again to answer. "I am not sure if this exactly answers your questions but, I am not a person who believes in failures or regrets. I believe in life lessons and learning from things that don't quite go your way to do better next time."
[20:38] Nicholas Philly nods "that does answer the question just not specifically most of these questions I won't give feedback the idea is to evaluate your responses in an on the spot situation, so there are really no right or wrong responses for the purpose of our interaction tonight." he would pause before moving on "so this will be the final question, why should Cedar Creek hire you?"
[20:47] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) She had a feeling that he would say that, most interviews were that way. This was the part she was never good at, or at least she thought so - and so she inhaled a gentle breath before answering. "Cedar Creek should hire me because I genuinely care about people, helping people, I believe in community and am dedicated to what I set my mind to"
[20:50] Nicholas Philly takes a few last notes and smiles at Ame, "okay great that wraps up my questions, so unless you have questions for me I'll let you get on with your evening!"
[20:52] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) Lips tweak as she gives a quick think over it all "Nothing I can think of at the moment, but you know people always think of things once they get home" smiles as she plants both of her feet on the floor and prepares to stand.
[20:55] Nicholas Philly smiles "totally so if you have any more questions you can always call and ask! But from here this recording will be submitted to the hiring board for review and based on the recommendations of the board you will hear back from us either to schedule an interview or letting you know the review board didn't wish to move forward with the process." he would stop the recording on the tablet and place it down on the stool, then stand and offer a had to Ame saying "well Ame it was nice meeting you!"
[20:57] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle): "Will do!" standing, her hand meets his for a firm hand shake and her opposite hand pats the top of his - just a friendly thing she did at times. "I look forward to hear from you and it was nice to meet you"
[20:57] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle): *hearing
[20:58] Nicholas Philly returns the hand shake then smiles "so I trust you can find your way out?"
[20:59] Ame Neox (AmeliaMichelle) Glances to the door and nods "Ya know, even if I can't find my way out, I like a good adventure" winks and steps towards the door
[21:00] Nicholas Philly smiles and moves out of her way then watches as she leaves the office
