  1. When it comes to multiplayer experiences, nothing beats the feeling of getting a Chicken Dinner with your friends on PUBG. Being the last team standing in a game with a hundred people feels great, but it's not easy. Even the top players, who have incredible reaction times, accuracy and teamwork don't win all the time.
  2. Any player is susceptible to finding terrible loot, being screwed by the zone or getting ambushed by multiple enemies at once... but as you will soon see, there ARE things you can do to minimize these risks. This guide is going teach you everything you need to know to consistently carry your team, or yourself, to the final circle with the best possible chance to win.
  3.
  4. Overview
  5.
  6. The Tactical Warfare Avoidance Technique, or TWAT for short, works on four basic principles.
  7. 1. Move early and prioritize team integrity
  8. 2. Predict and avoid the main areas of conflict
  9. 3. Let the other teams eliminate each other
  10. 4. Crush them when they're at their weakest
  11. And right off the bat I can tell you that this strategy has two main downsides.
  12. - Not the most fun.
  13. - Not the best to learn.
  14. If you want to have fun and get better at the game fast, drop at school, go for every drop and fight as much as you can, there's just no way around it.
  15. That being said, the strategy also has many benefits.
  16. - High win rate
  17. - High safety for the team
  18. - Reduced impact from RNG / lag
  19. - Beginner friendly
  20.
  21. If you're struggling to get your first win or if you're playing with someone who's new to the game and want them to have an amazing time, keep watching and you'll be getting that Chicken Dinner in no time.
  22.
  23. Zone Mechanics
  24.
  25. Understanding how the Zone functions is one of the most important skills that you can have in PUBG and it's also crucial in order to understand why the TWAT strategy works. Many people who have played this game for hundreds of hours still don't seem to fully understand it, so let's have a little recap.
  26. So about a minute after everyone is off the plane the first circle will appear on the map. This one is about four and a half kilometers in diameter and there's nothing special about it. Ten minutes later the first circle is completely closed and we get the second one somewhere inside. The second circle is kind of special because its diameter is exactly 65% of the first one. All the other circles, from the 3rd until the 8th and last have exactly 50% of the previous one's diameter.
  27. As I'm sure everybody knows by now, with each consecutive circle, the damage outside of the blue becomes higher. In fact if if we compare all the damages we can reach some interesting conclusions.
  28. Circles 1 to 3 the damage is extremely low and can be easily outhealed with bandages. Unless you're miles away from the zone you should be alright. Circles 6 to 8 are completely brutal but by this time the zone is pretty small and everyone is aware of this, so most of the time it's not really a problem.
  29. Circles 4 to 5, though, this is the interesting part. The transition from these circles is completely mental. As soon as the fourth circle closes and the fifth circle shows up, the damage is tripled and you go from being able to survive from almost two minutes to dying in about half. If you've ever died to the because you got busy with a gunfight and suddently it started to kill you really fast, I can guarantee you that 9 times out of 10 it was this one. This transition from 4th to 5th is very important for the strategy but don't worry about it for now, we'll go into details later.
  30. Right now, all we need to know is that even though the location of the circles is completely random, there are some things that are NOT random. For instance, if you're in the very center of a circle, you can know for sure that you're gonna be in the next one, because no matter where it goes, since it's at least half the diameter, you're always going to be in.
  31. Also, look out for circles like these. We know that the center of the next circle can never spawn on top of water, so even though this circle covers both sides, we already that it will end up on the southern one because it literally cannot spawn north without being on water.
  32. Keep these rules in mind and sometimes you'll be able to predict where the next zone will be and make a move before anyone else does.
  33.
  34. Player Flow
  35.
  36. The flow of players in the map is not a simple mechanic that one can memorize, but instead a mix of basic psychology and lots of guesswork. After hosting many private games with random people and carefully analyzing their behaviour, I have come to the conclusion that players, for the most part, behave in a fundamentally predictable manner.
  37. Here's some of the things I've learnt:
  38. - People tend to drop to compounds by the middle of the flight path (obviously)
  39. - People tend to drop in high profile areas earlier rather than later (so, basically, if the plane flies above Severny, there'll be a lot more people dropping if it flies there first rather than if it's coming from the Military Base and Pochinki)
  40. - People very rarely fly more than 1km away away from the plane (in pretty much every game, you'll find that almost all players are within this radius)
  41. - (And finally) People generally stay close to the place where they drop until the zone pushes them.
  42. So knowing all of this, we can get a very good idea of where most people will be in any given match. All you have to do is the following.
  43. - Remember the flight path and put a mental marker around the compounds that are nearby.
  44. - Identify the bigger compounds that you think people might go to inside the zone and also put a mental marker on them.
  45. - Every time the zone shrinks, "pull" the mental markers from their position towards the zone until they're in.
  46. And that's it. That's how you predict where people will go. Let's watch an actual and see how this theory plays out.

  52. Avoidance Phase
  53.
  54. The Avoidance Phase encompasses everything you will do from the start of the game until the 5th circle.
  55. The single most important step that you must take when the game starts is to find a vehicle. You don't wanna drop too early or too late, so drop somewher around the middle of the flight path and don't be afraid to parachute for a while if necessary. If you're playing with other people, have your entire team spread around a small area with a high likelihood of having cars and don't even waste any time looting.
  56. I'm gonna put the spots that I use all the time in the description if you wanna check that out.
  57. As soon as everyone is in a vehicle, start driving away from the flight path and find a good place to loot that's really far away from it. Around this point the first circle will appear, we're gonna have to adapt depending on where it is.
  58. A) If your location is within the circle or very close to it while still being on the furthest side away from the zone, perfect, go for it and take your time looting it.
  59. B) If your location is within the circle but happens to be in the center, you can either pick another location further away, or loot it really fast and get out before any other team shows up.
  60. and lastly C) if your location is completely away from the circle, you're gonna have to travel back to it, so instead of wasting lots of time looting far away, get the basic loot somewhere fast and then drive back to the circle and continue looting in the safest areas you can find.
  61. Since you're gonna have quite a bit of time to loot in peace, you wanna make sure that your resources are spread evenly, for instance you don't want one of your team mates to have two shotguns while you have two sniper rifles. As you will see, if you play your cards right, you don't need amazing loot to win.
  62. As zones close and new circles appear, you want to keep your a low profile and relocate quietly to constantly be in the side of the next circle that's furthest away from the flight path.
  63. During these relocations you might bump into other teams. It's up to you to decide if you want to be aggressive, but remaining undetected, especially later on, helps a lot, so pick your battles very carefully.
  64. At one point, when the blue zone becomes smaller than 1km, we'll have reached the 5th circle. As we saw earlier, when this circle closes, the damage from the zone triples and being outside for long becomes impossible. This is also the moment when our strategy changes completely.
  65.
  66. Sweep phase
  67.
  68. The Sweep Phase begins when the 4th circle has completely closed up and your team is ready to move.
  69. At this point of the game, teams are forced to go inside the zone or die in seconds, so you'll start to hear a lot more gunfights in the distance. As we saw in the previous examples, this is also the moment when teams start to spread out within the circle, so we have to change our approach. And again, how we do this will depend on what circle we get.
  70. If the circle is right on top of you, you can postpone the Sweep Phase and since you don't have to move, just don't engage with anyone and try to be stealthy. Securing a good position is important, but from my experience, remaining completely undetected even better, because it'll force the remaining people to fight each other and thin their numbers.
  71. If the circle is close to the edge of the zone, this is where we begin the sweep. Hug the blue and advance into the zone together. Obviously you can go left or right, most of the time you'll want go for the shorter path but if your judgement tells you that it's better to go the other way, go for it. If you've got a full squad, you can have one person have your back, one look towards the center and two look in front. If you're playing duos, have one person look in front and the other alternate between the other directions as you go. If you're on your own, well, you're gonna have to do your best.
  72. Sweeping works extremely well at this point of the game because it severely limits the areas where your enemies could be. At this point of the game it's no longer viable to be outside of the zone, so when you move forward you are basically advancing into the zone while you create a secured area that you can fall back to if necessary. Whereas if we were to stay in a single spot and got ambushed by another team, we would be completely cornered.
  73. Sometimes the next circle will be right in the middle. In these situations you have to figure out what's the best path to get into it, and either do it fast or approach slowly when the circle closes, but only if you think it's safe enough. You never want to get into a messy fight when the zone is against you.
  74. If you've been playing your cards right, at this point of the game there should be only a few teams left. Eventually you'll come across another team, and at this point of the game strategies don't really matter as much as basic teamwork and positioning, so do whatever you must in order to win. If you play duos or squads and your entire team is still alive, you're gonna have a massive advantage over teams with missing members, so again, try to focus on targets one at a time and you'll have a great chance of pulling through.
  75.
  76. Execution
  77.
  78. Now that I've told you everything I know, the way you implement it is ultimately up to you. You can show this video to your team mates and have everyone follow it by the book, or you can just keep information in mind and use it whenever you think it's appropriate.
  79. From my experience, the principles behind this strategy apply to all game modes, but they definitely work better in squads and duos. If you're more of a solo player, you might wanna watch my Hunting video, since that one is the exact opposite, it works better the less people there are.
  80. And that's it! If you wanna tell me if this strategy worked for you or if you think it's all bullshit, I read all my comments so feel free to write one down below. Thanks for watching, and have a great day!
