Apophis are literally demi-goddesses of hedonism, they corrupt entire realms into nighttime realms of lust and debauchery. She needs to be huge in every single sexual sense.

Imagine the pent up lust of an Apophis who was stuck in a sealed chamber and awakened 20 years before it was prophesied to be unsealed, having nothing to do but plot and self-pleasure to sustain herself in all that time, her own dark, rich mamano mana stewing in the sealed chamber, only altering her body and mind more and more as she had no release for so long.
And then a lone archaeologist stumbles across the chamber exterior, notices the very sand around it is dark, dark purple with corruption, and timidly cracks open the door.
The last thing he sees before fainting from the massive waft of mana that pours out is a clawed hand jabbing out to grab his chest, and a bright, insane looking yellow eye peering into him from the darkness within.
Lord only knows what sight awaits him when he wakes.
