Well since mayhem said that the ego jail server is going to get shut down I might as well make this post with ideas on how to fix pg's jail server.

*Opinion: This isn't part of the suggestions but I just want to say this. Since jail is being deleted and I don't know what will happen about ego TTT but basically everyone from the old ego CS division is going to/have already left. Every ego person I know says that they won't play on pg's server and if ours get deleted they will just swap divisions or just stop playing. From the perspective of a non-leadership person, it seems as if leadership/tech did/doesn't care about CS and seems like instead of working on our server you would rather just take PG's already popular servers. The lack of communication from leadership and the lack of seeming to care about or play on our servers (except yehhp and kinda mayhem) is obvious to basically everyone and is what killed the ego cs division. /Opinion*

Also just want to say that a couple of pg admins also admit that the server is toxic and sometimes dread going on it.

Actuall points to improve PG jail:

-Mute the T's until last guard/last request
The reasoning for this is that there is no need for them to be unmuted. They don't contribute to anything beneficial to the server except mic spam and nonsense.


-Tell the ct's to stop being so kill hungry
Right now the cts kill the T's if they do not leave their cells in three seconds (that's actually the time) and that means most of the time people typing (admins admining) get killed and have to wait out a whole round. Also on another note, most of the time there are always 3-4 cts scoped in on the stack and if you knife/look around you just get insta shot even if it wasn't a harm move (like shooting). This is incredibly toxic and annoying and no one likes it (except the kill hungry cts)


-More leniency in general
This is probably the most important because the guards give orders to "get in the red circle" and if you just put your foot out you can get shot by the kill hungry cts above. Also there are so many orders to look straight down and people just getting shot when they could have just been told again, most of the time they are not rebelling and just did not hear it when the warden says it or misunderstood. There have been times where I leave cellblock with anywhere from 5 up to 15 t's dead for no reason where they could have just been told again.


-Remove opinionated/ping games
This one is more of my opinion, but I think the maps they have include a lot of pre built games that are decent and these games like lr/fr, and jokes are unnecessary.

Also you (leadership) might respond saying that all those things is why their server is more popular but that is just idiotic. These things cause all people to get angry and then spam admin chat.


Also since I might get the response "Oh yeah just to admin those situations better" THAT WILL NOT WORK. We need a direct rule change/update from someone like abdul that admins can point to with this. Cause if someone like me or wase (we are the only ones that actually play on pg servers) starts admining like that we are going to create so much drama/toxicity because the server has been like that for a while.

I actually had the same conversation with people about this. At first, the fact that the Ts may talk seems dumb. However, eGO jail has gotten rid of pardons for a long time, unlike pG, and this is why the talking is permitted. Ts have to be able to communicate with the Warden for pardons and other needs. Now, you may say well what about typing out your concerns in chat. The terrible idea when you have 52 people on server. The Warden does not have the time, nor patience, to look at chat for pardon requests or people that want ST for a bomb. If someone does end up abusing their privilege then admin them accordingly and mute them.

I agree as the first time I played a round on the Jail server I was shot for a normally stupid reason. I learned quick that paying attention was the best way to obtain LR. We can admin and place rules all we want, but the culture of Jail is if a T is not following orders then they are subject to being shot. I will say if you are unfairly killed (Ex: not being given enough time to follow the order) you can admin as usual.

-More leniency in general

Same answer as above, but I will say that if the CTs fon't get rid of Ts quickly they become a problem and overwhelm the CTs and win the round over and over and over.

-Remove opinionated/ping games

I have a love/hate relationship with these games and I see no problem with keeping or removing them, but when you have a shortenned round timer it's hard to obtain LR with an even more massive amount of Ts. Usually the Warden takes us to two games and then plays one of these games. Opinionated Games are stupid and I agree(unless using them for ST).

Never been stated, but I will say it's been talked about before the merger with pG.

I would also like to clear something up. As I stated MULTIPLE TIMES during the class, that is my PERSONAL speculation on how the server has performed and what I think will happen if it continues to perform poorly. I did not say that "Leadership has made the decision to take down Jail and there is nothing we can do". I feel as if there is this stigma to take anything a Leadership member says and generalize it to the point that you want it to be. I have even told everyone that nothing is set in stone for this situation, so please do not say "Mayhem told us that Jail is being taken down" when I only gave what my personal thoughts on it were.

Now that I addressed that (sorry for sounding rude), I wanted to address your opinion since Bolt went over the other subjects. Everyone is entitled to do whatever they would like to do, we do not shackle people to stay in the division. If they truly do not like the changes being made and do not want to adapt/try new things out, then by all means find a happier place to be. The last thing we want to do is have people not enjoying themselves. I know from an outside perspective it is a bit hard to understand, but there are just some things that are being worked on that we cannot disclose yet. Reason being is because if we do start telling you guys things that might not end up happening, then you will all already begin panicking (This post is an example of such thought).

Now, can we probably do things to try and keep you guys in the loop? Of course we can, we are not perfect and there is always room for improvement. I cannot speak for Tech, but I will say that they are working VERY diligently on larger aspects for the better of the community (server box integration, MAUL, etc). I'm sure your next thought with this is "Well, if they would've just given us a Divisional Tech then it wouldn't be a problem" and you might be right or you might be wrong. If you want Tech's opinion on this, then you are more than welcome to contact one of them on why we do not have one yet so they can more clearly explain their situation.

I am not trying to make this a retaliation post from myself, I am just trying to make my answer as informative and explanatory as I can. Leadership does care about what you all have to say AND about the division as a whole. As you can tell, there is a lot to deal with and we are apologetic that some things got placed on the back burner. Don't make any assumptions on what will happen, only believe what is concretely announced by the entirety of the leadership team.

I see what you are saying and the points you made have a lot of credibility to them but I still think a little bit could be done, even if it isn't the stuff in my post, but even a little change could make it better. Like you said how you learned to pay attention better, so have I but I see other people who get shot and then type "wtf" or "why" and I agree with them but then that's just how the server runs so I can't do anything.

First, I don't think your post was rude, and I appreciate being honest and sharing. I think the way you said it in the meeting though was that the jail server was going to be removed, even if you didn't mean it, it sounded like that (hence why furten and teimyw left). I like your post and think that that type of post is type of communication people want from leadership, because besides the original announcement of the merge there hasn't been any other information shared and something like this could have been useful. I also like your idea of a divisional tech. I know that tech has been busy with the merge and I'm fine with that, but having someone more centered around the CS division would probably help a lot. Like the FastDl problem, that could have been easily solved by a CS tech without having to get a director go out of his way to do it when he has the merge to deal with. So @Gabe and @GardenGroveVW are there any updates or information about that? Also, just want to ask @GardenGroveVW if you have had read my tech app yet and have a response, it's been over a week.

I do apologize for it sounding that way. Sleeping on it and having a fresh mind thinking about it today, I could see how I might have been construed that way. We are planning to have a Divisional Meeting here soon so we can talk about all the things that have happened and are going to be happening in the near future. I personally will try harder to communicate with you all better so that these situations are less frequent.
