1. Music Contest #15
2. Now with tables and a new way to vote!
3.
4. Hello and welcome to the 15th Cyberscore Music Contest!
5.
6. Rules and guidelines:
7.
[li]Anyone can suggest songs to this contest.[/li]
8. [li]You can suggest up to 3 songs. If you can, please suggest 3 songs, as it balances the event out nicely.[/li]
9. [li]It is recommended that all 3 of your suggestions come from a different country, but this is NOT required.[/li]
10. [li]You can only suggest one song per artist.[/li]
11. [li]You may only suggest new songs for this music contest. No songs from previous MCs or VGMCs are allowed. A list of previously suggested songs is available here. (Credit goes to sausage948 for making this spreadsheet)[/li]
12. [li]Any type of music, including music from games, movies, anime, independent compositions, and anything else you can name, can be suggested.[/li]
13. [li]A suggestion should include the following:
14. - Song title
15. - Artist
16. - Country of Artist's origin
17. - Link to the song (Youtube is preferred, but other sites, such as Soundcloud, are allowed as long as it is free to listen and you do not need an account.)[/li]
18. [li]Songs will be placed randomly in the semifinals. There will be only one song per suggester in each semifinal, and if possible, one song per artist/franchise in each semifinal.[/li]
19.
20. Voting:
21.
[li]Anyone can vote! Even if you didn't suggest any songs, you can still vote for your favorites.[/li]
22. [li]Do not post your votes in public! Submit your votes to me in a forum PM, CSMail, or in a Private Message on the Cyberscore Discord server.[/li]
23. [li]Votes consist of, at the least, your top 5 songs, sorted from first to fifth place.[/li]
24. [li]Additionally, you may give 1 point to as many additional songs as you want (so votes 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, etc each get 1 point if you liked them enough to give them additional points).[/li]
25. [li]You can also utilize the new dynamic vote. This is an optional vote, that allows you to allocate one song 7-1 points, meaning you can create ties and slot songs inbetween eachother in order to help you give songs the points you feel they deserve.
26. [li]The points system is as follows:[/li]
27.
1. (7 points)
28. 2. (5 points)
29. 3. (3 points)
30. 4. (2 point)
31. 5. (1 point)
32. 6, 7, 8, etc. (1 point each) (OPTIONAL)
33. Dynamic Vote: (1-7 points) (OPTIONAL)
34.
35. Voter's Bonus: # of points.
36.
[li]When a suggester votes, he/she can also specify the amount of points that he/she wishes to give to their own song (known as voter's bonus). The choices are 0, 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7. If this is not specified, then 7 points will be given by default.[/li]
37. [li]It is recommended to provide your voter's bonus based on how you think your song ranks among the rest of the suggestions in the round. You don't have to do this by any means, but it is a suggestion.[/li]
38. [li]Your votes will be considered invalid if you don't vote for at least 5 songs (not including your own) or if you vote for a song twice.[/li]
39. [li]Everyone's votes for a round will be revealed following the results for that round.[/li]
40. [li]If a voter knows he/she won't be able to vote in a round, they can vote earlier, provided they contact me before the round starts, or within a reasonable period of time.[/li]
41. [li]If a suggester does not vote, his/her song in that round is not eligible for the default 7-point voter's bonus and will not receive any such bonus.[/li]
42.
43. Rules:
44.
[li]There will be three semifinals. The 5 highest scoring songs from each semifinal will automatically advance to the final round. The next 5 highest scoring songs will make it to the second chance round. The remaining songs will be eliminated.[/li]
45. [li]The second chance round will occur after the third semifinal. All of the songs that qualified for the second chance round will be thrown together for a last shot at reaching the final round. The second chance round will be played like the other semifinal rounds. Out of the 15 songs, the 4 highest scoring songs will reach the final.[/li]
46. [li]The person whose songs earned the most points throughout all of the semifinals can choose to pick a wildcard, an eliminated song that didn't make it to the final. This can be one of their own songs or a song suggested by someone else. The person who gets to pick this wildcard will be announced following the results of Semifinal 3. The song may be selected after the results of the second chance round have been announced.[/li]
47. [li]The song with the most points in the final is the winning song.[/li]
48. [li]The position of each song on the leaderboard is determined by the total amount of points the songs earned through the votes they received.[/li]
49. [li]Tie breaking rules:
50. [li]If two or more songs are tied, the song who got the least amount of voter's bonus wins. (e.g. if song A has 40 + 5 and song B has 42 + 3 then song B will win)[/li]
51. [li]If the songs are still tied, the song with the most people voting for it, excluding voter’s bonus, gets ranked higher. (e.g. if two songs have 24 points, with one song having 3 other users voting besides the suggestor and the other song having 5 other users voting besides the suggestor, the latter song would be ranked higher)[/li]
52. [li]If the songs are still tied, the song which got the most '7 pointers' from voters gets ranked higher.[/li]
53. [li]If the songs are still tied, then the '5 pointers' will be looked at, then the '3 pointers' and so on (excluding the voter’s bonus).[/li]
54. [li]If the songs are still tied, another nonrandom tiebreaking criterion may be created if possible.[/li]
55. [li]If they are still tied, then a random draw will determine how the songs are ranked.[/li]

56.
