Code Lyoko: The Hopper Siblings


	It's another typical day on Lyoko. Ulrich, Odd, Yumi, and Aelita race toward an activated tower with several of XANA's monsters in hot pursuit.

	"I count 4 Kankrelats, 4 Tarantulas, and 2 Krabs on our tails", Odd remarks.

	"We don't have much further to go to reach the activated tower", Aelita reminds him.

	"I see the tower, and if we want to reach it, we have to get past THAT!", Yumi remarks pointing a head of them. A whole wall of Bloks (cube-shaped monsters) stands in front of the activated tower.

	"Any ideas, Jeremy?", Ulrich asks.

	"You'll have to work together to topple that wall. I count 25 Bloks total, stacked in 5 by 5 rows", Jeremy confirms.

	"So we have an army behind us and a wall in front of us. Sounds like fun", Odd jokes. The Lyoko warriors brace themselves to fight on both fronts. As they move to attack both the monsters chasing them and the wall of Bloks in front of them, what appears to be a big green dragon swoops down from the sky.

	"Since when did XANA have a dragon?", Odd asks.

	"There's something familiar about it", Aelita adds.

	"I'm not registering that XANA sent a new monster. I don't think that dragon is XANA's", Jeremy confirms. The dragon swoops down and flaps its wings, creating a powerful gust of wind that blows away the top two layers of Bloks. it then fires some kind of flamethrower at the army of monsters, roasting some and sending the rest fleeing. Next, the dragon reaches out with a hand that appears to be human and grabs Aelita, lifting her into the air. It flies past the remaining Bloks and drops Aelita right into the tower, then flies away without a word. Aelita quickly deactivates the tower and everyone returns to the real world.

	"It wasn't an actual dragon. It was some kind of dragon man, or a human whose Lyoko form is dragon-like", Odd reports to Jeremy.

	"I'm pretty sure this dragon guy is on our side. I couldn't see his face through his face-mask, but he felt familiar to me when he grabbed me and lifted me up", Aelita adds.

	"If he truly is on our side, he may show up again next time you guys go to Lyoko. Furthermore, if he is human, he must have virtualized himself onto Lyoko from somewhere. We should try to find out who he is in this world", Jeremy suggests.

	A few days go by without XANA attacks. The Lyoko warriors breathe a sigh of relief. Jeremy and Aelita finally get a chance to hang out together, but a 15-year-old boy who identifies himself as Bromley keeps trying to flirt with Aelita.

	"How about you ditch the "nerd herd" and spend a little time with me?", Bromley teases Aelita. Aelita responds by slapping him and walking away with Jeremy. Bromley continues pestering them, so Jeremy and Aelita decide to go to the Hermitage Mansion, where Aelita's father Franz once lived. Upon entering the house, They are surprised to see someone else there: a young red-haired man who appears to be about 20 years old wearing a black-and-red shirt with a flame design, bright green pants, and turquoise sneakers.

	"Welcome home, stepsister", He remarks.

	"I didn't know Aelita had any siblings, or stepsiblings", Jeremy remarks.

	 "I am Michael Hopper, son of Franz Hopper and his first wife. Aelita is the daughter Franz had with his second wife. My mother divorced my dad because he spent too much time in his lab and not enough time with her. I have never met my stepmother, as I went to live with my mother after the divorce, then she died in a car wreck. At that point, I ended up living in dad's lab and taking care of my stepsister Aelita since her mother had disappeared. Dad had a dream to build a giant theme park, but couldn't never find anywhere with enough available real estate to suit him", the young man explains.

	"I'm sure there's plenty of room on the Earth for another theme park", Jeremy confides.

	"Not on the scale my dad desired. He wanted to build the largest theme park ever", Michael continues, "One day when he was searching around on the internet for a place to build his theme park, I hit upon the idea that the internet itself was the place to build it. A VIRTUAL theme park could be infinite in size. Hence, we began working on the virtual theme park which we codenamed "Lyoko". Unfortunately, dad had a rival. Another scientist who grew jealous when he learned what dad and I were making. Not long after we made a program called XANA that would generate virtual animals and wildlife for our theme park, dad's rival uploaded a virus into our system that attacked the XANA program and corrupted it. At dad's behest, I downloaded copies of the uncorrupted files into a flash drive and fled with it. I wanted to take Aelita with me, but Dad wanted to keep her with him. I was told to find a safe place and use dad's schematics to construct a second supercompter, link it with dad's supercomputer, and meet up with dad and Aelita on Lyoko. When I finally got to Lyoko, I couldn't find either of them. I've been flying all around Lyoko in search of them, but I had no luck until I saw your friends surrounded by XANA's monsters and heard one of them mention Aelita. Realizing I had found my stepsister, I made short work of XANA's monsters and gave her a lift to the tower, which I realized the others were taking her to, so she could deactivate it. I've had to deactivate a few towers myself during my travels across Lyoko".

	"Where exactly is your supercomputer?", Jeremy asks Michael.

	"Right here in this house. It's right below your feet, in the basement", Michael answers. Michael leads Jeremy and Aelita down into the basement. In the center of the room is a supercomputer identical to the one in the factory. Michael points to a room off to the side.

	"The scanners are in there", Michael explains. Jeremy walks into the room Michael pointed to and finds a total of 6 scanners. Two are closed.

	"You have someone on Lyoko right now?", Jeremy asks.

	"Yeah. My friends Milly and Katie. Milly, as i'm sure you already know, is one of your school's journalists. She promised not to do any stories on Lyoko until after XANA is gone for good. Katie is Coach Jim's daughter and Milly's cousin. Jim asked me to mentor both girls, as they were struggling in school. I brought the two of them here to help them with their studies and they found my scanners. I started bringing them to Lyoko with me, though they weren't with me the other day when I helped your team", Michael explains. Images of Milly and Katie in their Lyoko forms appear on the screen of Michael's supercomputer. Jeremy notices the girls' Lyoko forms are near-identical, except Milly's is red and Katie's is yellow. They both look like cheerleaders.

	"The blue light around one of those tower things just turned red. What does that mean?" Milly asks. Jeremy and Michael both know what that means.

	"It means XANA just activated that tower and will be sending monsters to the area around it", Jeremy responds.

	"Is that Jeremy Belpois with you, Michael?", Milly asks.

	"Yes. My stepsister Aelita is here as well. Either she or I will need to come in and deactivate that tower", Michael explains.

	"We got Krabs heading out way", Katie adds.

	"Jeremy, send me and Aelita to Lyoko. I'll help the girls hold off XANA while sis deactivates the tower", Michael explains. Moments later, Michael and Aelita are in the scanners and Jeremy runs the virtualization process and sends the Hopper siblings to Lyoko. They manifest right next to Milly and Katie. At least five Krabs are heading right for them. One of the zaps Milly and she devirtualizes. Jeremy sees one of the scanners open and Milly tumbles out of it.

	"I think I better call Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi", Jeremy suggests.

	Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi are looking all over Kadic for Jeremy and Aelita. They haven't seen either of them for hours.

	"I saw them being chased by Bromley Lansfeur earlier", Odd points out.

	"I've seen Bromley trying to flirt with Aelita before. I think he likes her", Yumi adds.

	"Isn't that Bromley walking towards us?", Ulrich points out. Odd and Yumi look in the direction Ulrich is pointing. Bromley is heading their way. He has XANA's symbol in his eyes.

	"Where is Aelita!", Bromley yells. His voice sounds warped. Yumi's cellphone rings.

	"Jeremy, that Bromley guy that's been chasing after Aelita has been possessed by XANA", Yumi explains.

	"This is gonna sound strange, but come to the hermitage, NOT the factory. I found out who the dragon guy from Lyoko is. It's Michael Hopper, Aelita's stepbrother. He has a backup supercomputer and 6 scanners set up in the basement of the hermitage. I just sent him and Aelita to Lyoko. Michael had already sent Milly to Lyoko along with Jim's daughter Katie. The two of them are apparently part of Michael's team of Lyoko warriors. Milly got devirtualized by a Krab and is standing right next to me. Michael and Katie are holding off the Krabs while Aelita goes for the tower", Jeremy explains.

	"I'll keep Bromley occupied. You two head to the hermitage", Yumi suggests. Ulrich and Odd take off running while Yumi spars with Bromley.

	Ulrich and Odd arrive at the hermitage to find Jeremy and Milly waiting for them.

	"The scanners are in that room", Jeremy explains, pointing across the hall. Ulrich and Odd hurry into the scanners and Jeremy has them on Lyoko within moments.

	"It's a jungle in there", Milly teases. The activated tower is in the forest sector.

	Odd and Ulrich rush through the forest sector. They spot the activated tower and the Krabs, which have Michael and Katie surrounded. Aelita is hiding near the tower, which is being guarded by two Bloks and 2 Tarantulas. Ulrich heads towards the tower, while Odd begins taking out the Krabs. A group of Krabs move in-between Katie and Michael. Odd lands near Katie.

	"There's too many of them", Odd remarks.

	"I can help", Katie suggests, "Once I start cheering, you shoot". Katie promptly launches into a cheerleading routine. Odd feels energy building up around the shooters in his paws. He aims at a Krab and fires.

	"Laser Arrow!" he declares. The arrow he fires is shrouded in glowing energy and, upon hitting a Krab, the arrow explodes and takes out 3 other Krabs as well.

	"Make that exploding Laser Arrow", Odd yells.

	"Milly and I can power up other Lyoko warriors' attacks with our cheerleading routines, which transfer our energy attacks' power to someone else", Katie explains.

	As Jeremy monitors the battle from Michael's supercomputer, someone knocks on the hermitage door. Jeremy answers the door to find Jim Morales, Kadic's gym coach and Katie's father, standing there.

	"Belpois, what are you doing here?", Jim demands.

	"I brought Aelita to see Michael. You did know the two of them are step-siblings?", Jeremy responds.

	"Can't say as I did. Michael is supposed to be tutoring my daughter and my niece", Jim replies

	"Niece?", Jeremy wonders

	"Milly Solovieff", Jim explains, "You did know she's my niece?".

	"Can't say as I did", Jeremy remarks, copying how Jim had replied to him. Milly rushes up to them from the basement.

	"Katie's a little busy right now. She's fighting Krab monsters on Lyoko", Milly explains.

	"You really shouldn't just go around telling people about Lyoko", Jeremy complains. Nonetheless, he leads Jim down into the basement.

	"There's some big, creepy jellyfish thing with long tentacles trying to grab me", they hear Katie yell.

	"Sounds like that Scyphozoa thing Michael said tried to grab him on several occasions while he was on Lyoko", Milly remarks.

	"What exactly is all this", Jim asks.

	"Lyoko is a virtual world that we travel to using the scanners in the room across the hall. Michael or I stay here to run the virtualization process for the others", Jeremy explains. Jim heads into the scanner room.

	"There's no way I'm letting my daughter be squid food. Send me in", Jim insists. He climbs into a scanner. Jeremy does his thing and Jim manifests on Lyoko right near his daughter and the Scyphozoa. Jim's Lyoko form is wearing a white outfit like a karate master wears, complete with a blackbelt.

	"Jim, your Lyoko form is a martial arts master with superhuman strength", Jeremy explains. Jim quickly tears Katie away from the Scyphozoa. Next, he ties the Scyphozoa's tentacles up in knots and chucks it off the cliff.

	"That wasn't so hard", Jim remarks. A Krab walks up behind them and fires. Jim spins around just in time to see Katie vanish. Michael flies over and lands next to Jim.

	"What just happened to Katie?" Jim asks.

	"She got devirtualized. It happens if a hit from a monster wipes out your HP. She's back in the hermitage with Jeremy now", Michael explains, "We need to finish off these Krabs and then go help my stepsister get to that tower". Michael points to the activated tower.

	Back on Kadic's campus, Yumi is still fighting with XANA-possessed Bromley. Tamiya Diop, a friend of Milly's, sees the fight and joins in. The two girls are able to force Bromley into the woods, but then he runs off. The girls follow him and end up at the hermitage. Bromley heads down into the Hermitage's basement. He then attacks Jeremy, knocking him away from the supercomputer. Tamiya runs over to Milly as Katie walks out of the scanner room.

	"Jim got rid of the Scyphozoa, but there's still plenty of Krabs to deal with, not to mention the monsters XANA has guarding the tower", Katie explains.

	"Sounds like I need to get to Lyoko", Yumi remarks. Milly takes the supercomputer's headset.

	"Jeremy's occupied at the moment, so I'll run the Virtualization thing for you", Milly explains. Yumi heads into a scanner.

	"Transfer: Yumi. Scanner: Yumi. Virtualization!", Milly shouts. Yumi manifests near the activated tower and quick takes out the two Bloks. Meanwhile, Jim grabs a Krab by one of its legs and suplexes it off the cliff. Michael picks up another Krab, flies up real high in the sky, then shoots back down, slamming the Krab into the ground and destroying it. With a few other choice wrestling moves, the two of them eliminate all the remaining Krabs. Odd joins Ulrich and Yumi at the tower and the three of them take out the two Tarantulas as Aelita enters the tower. A screen appears in front of Aelita. She places a hand on it. "AELITA" flashes on the screen followed by "CODE LYOKO".

	"Tower Deactivated", Aelita confirms. Back on Earth, Bromley is freed from XANA's control as Tamiya and Katie were struggling to wrest Jeremy from his grasp.

	Later, when everyone is back from Lyoko, Bromley apologizes to everyone for any harm he caused while under XANA's control. Jeremy reminds him that he had no control over what XANA made him do. Michael offers Bromley a spot on his team of Lyoko warriors.

	"Sure", Bromley answers, "I'd love a chance to get back at XANA". Next, Jim approaches them.

	"That was the most fun I've had in years. Please let me join your team as well", Jim requests.

	"Only if you promise to keep Lyoko a secret", Michael and Jeremy answer in unison. Jim agrees to their conditions.

	"Looks like we now have two teams of Lyoko warriors: my team with Ulrich, Odd, Yumi, and Aelita, and Michael's team with Milly, Tamiya, Katie, Jim, and Bromley", Jeremy comments, "XANA is gonna be pulling out all the stops now that it has two teams to contend with. I hope we're all ready for it". Everyone agrees that they can handle whatever XANA sends their way.
