  1. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  2. So
  3. been thinking about viera
  4. again(edited)
  5. more specifically, viera and hume unions
  6. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  7. Gwyndolin the secret viera
  8. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  9. DAMMIT HOW DID YOU KNOW
  10. I WAS GONNA GO THROUGH THIS SHPEIL
  11. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  12. I KNEW IT
  13. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  14. OF TALKING ABOUT HUME VS VIERA GENETICS
  15. AND THEN END WITH 'anyways secret male viera gwyndy"
  16. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  17. now I'm picturing Dalmasca with Anor Londo in it
  18. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  19. same
  20. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  21. Dynast King of Sunlight
  22. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  23. but no like i feel like, like gerudo, a daughter of a hume and a viera is almost guaranteed to also be a viera. like an 85% chance at least
  24. but a son is p much always a hume
  25. like female viera phenotype > female hume phentotype
  26. but its not that a male viera coming from these unions is impossible
  27. its that even among pure viera unions, males are excessively rare
  28. so while female is viera > hume
  29. male phentoype is hume >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> viera
  30. its so astronimically unlikely that theres like no documented case of it happening, ever
  31. and is thought to be impossible, which isnt helped by the general masses thinking male viera dont exist to begin with since the viera are so secretive by default about themselves, and then secretive x100 about their dudes
  32. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  33. and i can see gwyn having had a viera wife maybe, which also makes sense because viera live twice as long as humes so that works out with gwyn being like 50 and having 4 kids over the course of like 20 years with the same woman
  34. and her not being a broken older lady wheezing as she squeezes out one more kid
  35. bonus points: gwynevere and/or filianore turned out as pretty viera girls
  36. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  37. I'm gonna say Gwynevere was the one who didn't become a Viera by like sheer luck of the draw but Yorshka and Filianore absolutely did
  38. like I want to say that Gwynevere just wound up getting the genes that make her this stunning, statuesque woman like most viera but she's still a hume
  39. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  40. nice
  41. and it extra complies with my headcanon that male viera are the smol to female vieras tol
  42. gwynevere, filianore, yorshka = tol
  43. gwyndy = smol
  44. and then theres 100% hume big bro, flexing
  45. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  46. hanging out in Rosarria somewhere
  47. Not Archades! Definitely not Archades. But possibly Rosarria
  48. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  49. on that note, gwyndolin is born. gwyn could be ignorant and be like male??? viera???? unheard of. and his wife has to correct him like no hun they do exist... or hes not that ignorant but EITHER WAY the end result is "okay but the general masses dont know that, they wont accept a male viera in the royal family, especially not one so frail"
  50. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  51. Gwyn and his wife just looking at this lil baby boy with bun ears
  52. and Gwyn is just lke
  53. *like
  54. how
  55. he's a cherished boy by the royal family but he's definitely kept hidden for like
  56. all the reasons
  57. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  58. gwyn thinking he should raise gwyndolin as another viera princess, mom like "no?? hes a perfect viera boy, the peak of viera masculinity you cant just force your child to live as the opposite sex!"
  59.
  60. and gwyn is like "listen i am a public figure and the people will not accept a male viera. if i present this kid as a boy, people will think i actually AM forcing a girl to live as a boy! theyll think im a sexist ass who was that desperate for another son!"
  61.
  62. "SO YOURE DOING THE OPPOSITE ANYWAYS???"
  63.
  64. they argue a lot
  65. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  66. it doesn't help that like
  67. Viera masculinity is....different from hume masculinity
  68. so either way he gets the lace
  69. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  70. exactly why mom would point out that gwyndoling is the most perfect baby viera boy she has ever heard of, the pinnacle of viera manliness,
  71. still gets the lace
  72. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  73. so in the end the argument was for nothing
  74. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  75. but maybe mom was not so healthy (gwyndolin couldve inherited sickliness from her) and shes done so well but that fourth birth just kinda took it out of her. she doesnt die from childbirth itself and probably lasts a while after the fact but shes weakened and gets sick and dies.
  76.
  77. the pettier part of gwyn like ".... that means i win the argument". and then mourns her for a decade or two before marrying another viera lady and having another viera daughter at like 60/70 because his virility is out of control
  78. i bet they were stalling the announcement of gwyndolins birth while they argued because what are they gonna show him to the public as, prince or princess?? so if his birth does wind up announced rather than hidden, it comes a few months late and the public is given the white lie that the queen died in childbirth, which they assume is bc she had a way-too-long pregnancy
  79. alternatively they still say she died from pregnancy complications but dont mention gwyndolin to the public at all so people assume the baby didnt make it
  80. im not sure which i prefer
  81. known viera princess gwyndolin who is simply not in the public eye very often, or just 'whos that viera girl sometimes seen with the royal family'
  82. think im leaning towards actually acknowledged but extremely not-present princess
  83. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  84. I'm going to say acknowledge, but because of the ears, everyone just assumes he's a Princess and he's just tired of explaining
  85. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  86. doesnt help that thats what dad says too
  87. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  88. Also, sudden thought: Basch fon Ronsenberg as played by Ornstein
  89. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  90. oh my god
  91. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  92. tell me the Four Knights of Gwyn wouldn't make for amazing Ivalice characters
  93. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  94. but yeah gwyn is like "yes this is my youngest daughter princess gwyndolin" and gwyndy is just ":| [sighing internally]"
  95. THEY WOULD
  96. also you kno what gets me
  97. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  98. Knight Artorias, Lord's Blade Cieran, Hawkeye Gough, Dragonslayer Ornstein, and sometimes Smough(edited)
  99. the jolly executioner Seeq
  100. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  101. executioner smough wanted to be one of the knights of gwyn SO BAD but was always refused because he was too delightfully cruel and also ate his victims
  102. and yet
  103. when it came down to it
  104. he was more loyal to guarding anor londo than ornstein
  105. Baron Esper - 07/15/2017
  106. Yep
  107. He remained
  108. whatever else he may be, we should remember that
  109. anyway, I gotta get to work, but text me more of this shit, it's fascinating
  110. byeeeeeee
  111. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/15/2017
  112. seeya!
  113.

  117.
  118. July 16, 2017
  119. Baron Esper - 07/16/2017
  120. so, Covenants in FFXII Ivalice
  121. we already discussed the Warriors of Sunlight
  122. the Princess' Guard is probably just the Order of the Knights of Dalmasca given a different name, or at least a division of them dedicated to guarding the Princess
  123. Baron Esper - 07/16/2017
  124. the Forest Hunters are clearly militant Viera
  125. but instead of being dedicated to protecting a sacred gravesite, they just protect the forest from intruders in general
  126. Not sure what I want to do with Alvira yet
  127. or Sif the Great Grey Wolf, for that matter
  128. the Blade of the Darkmoon is obvious enough: They're Gywndolin's spies and assassins, who work in the dark to serve the light
  129. if there's anything that Gwyndolin is damn good at in all incarnations, it's spycraft
  130. if Dalmasca being conquered is still a thing, and with Pontiff Sulyvahn it's very well possible, I'm going to say the Blade of the Darkmoon are likely the main pocket of resistance still struggling against the Pontiff's Outrider Knights, but that's neither here nor there
  131. the more esoteric ones are a little harder for me, like the Gravelord Servants or the Path of the Dragon
  132. though I guess the Gravelord Servants could just be these weirdos who hang out in the Necrohol of Nabudis and worship like the grim specter of death or something, I'd rather not reduce a Covenant to just a barrel of mobs to fight unless I have to
  133. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/16/2017
  134. i love that gwyndolin is frail and sickly and the smallest lord in canon but hes the one who has a covenant of justice assassins that cut of their victims ears as trophies. he does not fuck around if crossed
  135. the description for the darkmoon blade miracle in ds3 is gr8
  136. Miracles of the Darkmoon are tales of revenge, but Captain Yorshka recites only for the sake of remembering her brother, without knowledge of its meaning.
  137. Perhaps this is better, as revenge is better left to the Blades.
  138. angry vengeful little gwyndy
  139. gwyndolin and sheltered yorshka all alone as the royal family, being pushed around by this false pontiff, gwyndolin sicklier than ever, but secretly working their spies and assassins against him while trying to keep up appearances
  140. Baron Esper - 07/16/2017
  141. in a more optimistic game, that would probably be the central plot
  142. helping the Blades of the Darkmoon to overthrow the False Pontiff
  143. and restore King Gwyndolin
  144. to his rightful throne
  145. god, that's weird to think about
  146. Gwyndolin's King now
  147. like even when Gwyn's been dead for god knows how long in Dark Souls 1, his presence is still all over the place, you feel like Gwyn is still somehow the King of Sunlight
  148. well, I mean, technically he's still alive as that hollowed-out shell in the Kiln of the First Flame
  149. but you take my meaning
  150. but in Dark Souls III, there's no way around it, Anor Londo is ruled by King Gwyndolin
  151. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/16/2017
  152. HELLO [poses]
  153. July 17, 2017
  154. Baron Esper - 07/17/2017
  155. Hello!
  156. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/17/2017
  157. i just want you to know im still giggling about clueless ornstein
  158. Baron Esper - 07/17/2017
  159. pffft
  160. good
  161. he's very clueless
  162. he's friends with Smough, after all
  163. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/17/2017
  164. gwyndolin finally telling everyone hes actually been a boy this whole time
  165. ornstein:

  167.
  168. Baron Esper - 07/17/2017
  169. THAT'S EXACTLY THE IMAGE I WAS PICTURING
  170. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/17/2017
  171. GOOD
  172. BECAUSE IT POPPED INTO MY HEAD IMMEDIATELY
  173. Baron Esper - 07/17/2017
  174. GOOD
  175. also, I've been thinking about Occuria Frampt and Kaath
  176. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/17/2017
  177. god
  178. Baron Esper - 07/17/2017
  179. and I legit have a hard time figuring out which one is the Venat
  180. in this situation
  181. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/17/2017
  182. ruining everything since the dawn of time
  183. Baron Esper - 07/17/2017
  184. or maybe it's just these two
  185. like they're just the Occuria, period
  186. Potente Byrd Mæmes - 07/17/2017
  187. id believe it
  188. Baron Esper - 07/17/2017
  189. FFXII AU where everything's the same but Venat is replaced with Frampt
  190. just replace the ghostly model with a big dumb snake with a mustache
