- there are basically two routes now: one for kips with at least 26IV+speed, and one for those without.
- these notes are for a standard kip and should be used with either mountebank's cluster (11075-11084; ~3:13 from soft reset) or exarion's cluster (12779-12784; ~3:41.5 from soft reset).
- major differences are strats on archie 1, norman, winona, and tnl.
- it also eliminates rock tomb, so in general where you would RT, strength instead.
- PETALBURG SHOP*
- - Buy: 1 Potion/3 Repel/1 X Speed/3 X Attack
- *to make this shop work, pick up Potion on the beach in front of Briney's house and the Repel on Route 116 by the rotato Bug Catcher.
- - don't get bullet seed, but pick up both oran berries
- - DON'T TEACH ROCK TOMB
- - must get 360 exp, which is L16+27xp, to get L18 for grovyle (soft sand strats)
- - teach mud shot over growl, not mud slap
- - can get stardust for a bit more money, but don't get thief
- - since no rock tomb, tackle museum zubat twice (can water gun if in torrent)
- SLATEPORT SHOP
- - Sell: TM47 Steel Wing and TM39 Rock Tomb
- - Buy: 6 Super Potion/2-4 Repel*
- *2 is minimum if none used in cave, but buy an extra one for every one used in cave (in the case of fast abra+evolution, for example). this also assumes you only use one repel on route 116 (can use it right before janice)
- - after beating wattson, get strength, but instead of exiting where you came in, go down then left and out the side passage, going up the stairs outside to get the HP Up, THEN teleport.
- - get the nugget in the crater
- FALLARBOR SHOP
- - Sell: HP Up, Nugget
- - Buy: 3 Super Repel/7 X Speed/10 X Special/11-12 X Attack*/1 X Defend/2 Guard Spec.
- *11 if at least 20IV+attack, else 12
- ARCHIE 1*
- *heal as necessary, LEAVE SOFT SAND EQUIPPED
- - turn 1: lead slave, guard spec
- - turn 2: bring in marshtomp, x attack
- - turn 3: x speed
- - strength x2 (is a range on L24, so you can mud shot instead)
- - golbat: strength, x attack, strength
- - sharpedo: mud shot
- LAVARIDGE SHOP (after flannery)
- - Buy 4 heal powders and max energy roots, can sell overheat for more money
- - get desert candy (repel on the tile above the rotato)
- - swap marshtomp to front in menu, teleport
- - if not L27 after torkoal, kill an encounter on route 110 before going to dewford
- - candy to L28 BEFORE you fight battle girl laura
- - mud shot machop, strength makuhita
- PETALBURG GYM
- - need 4 strength and 1 mud shot for norman, manage gym pp accordingly
- - room order: R>L>R
- - delcatty: mud shot, mud slap, mud shot
- - linoone: mud shot at least once, then strength or mud shot (can finish off w water gun if in torrent)
- - zangoose: mud shot x2
- NORMAN
- - turn 1: x defend
- - turn 2: mud slap
- - setup to +1 speed, +5-6 attack (5 if at least 20IV+attack), healing as necessary
- - slaking: strength x2
- - vigoroth: mud shot
- - slaking: strength x2
- RIVAL 3
- - x attack to +2, x speed to +1
- - strength, strength, mud shot
- - don't heal, since you will want torrent for winona
- FORTREE SHOP
- - Buy: 4-5 hyper potion/2-3 revive/11 super repel
- MT. PYRE
- - always surf second zubat
- - get rare candy, take mystic water from castform, give it to marshtomp, teleport
- FORTREE GYM
- - surf doduo (tri attack does like 30-40 so be careful)
- - surf kylee
- - rare candy to L36 to evolve, teach fly to flyer
- WINONA
- - turn 1: x special
- - turn 2+: surf swellow until you hit
- - on pelipper: x atk, strengthx2 (fuck protect)
- - skarm: surf (+1 torrent surf is guaranteed, if no torrent it's approximately 75% to ohko)
- - altaria: strengthx2 (heal to full if you will die, EQ does like 20)
- MOSSDEEP CITY
- - GET DIVE BEFORE THE GYM
- - don't take mart, ur good
- - night shade range is 42HP, heal before xatu if u must
- - TEACH DIVE BEFORE TATE AND LIZA
- TATE AND LIZA
- - DON'T HEAL BEFORE THE FIGHT
- - DON'T SWITCH CASTFORM TO FRONT
- - turn 1: x speed swampert, heal swampert to full on slave's turn
- - turn 2: dive solrock if turn 1 solarbeam charge; else surf and dive solrock turn 3
- - once solrock is dead, spam surf
- - x spec if u get calm mind or light screen, unless you can get the rain up once all slaves are dead
- ARCHIE 2
- - you want to be at about 50% health going into the fight, so heal or don't to try and get close to that
- - turn 1: guard spec.
- - turn 2+: x speed, x spec, x spec
- - heal if you would die to take down, otherwise spam surf and hope crobat hits you into torrent
- - if u are in high torrent, neither crobat nor sharpedo can kill you with one hit unless they crit, so play it cool
