background | sumi grew up in daegu with her mother, father, and brother for the majority of her life, sheltered from the world around her. at a young age, she was extremely close to all her family members -- her brother the most of all. he was fiercely protective over her, and never let her see the horrors of the world. for her family, the attacks started before they were common. her hometown was one of the first ones targeted, but she didn't even know that there were attacks because of how her family tried to protect her from it. all she knew was one day, her brother left for a school she had never heard of -- a year later, her parents accidentally let the truth slip, and since then, she was determined to learn to defend herself. her mother and father outright refused, but sumi managed to break down their argument over the course of almost a year, and her parents agreed to send her to the school, saying that it was on her when her brother found out and blew a fuse.
