Striking Distance video script

Hey guys, MKDH here, and yep, another one of these videos. Although I'm actually submitting for a Discord channel for Battalion Wars challenges. Basically, it's Striking Distance without Artillery. Technically, the Artillery do kind of participate as the Gunships always target them, but it's not like the Missile Vets are doing anything else anyway. So with all the filler displaying the brokenness of Assault Vets, I'm going to get to the subject I want to talk about.

I recently watched a video by Extra Credits about how Veteran's Day is supposed to promote peace, and it had me thinking about somebody I used to know who has Veteran's Day thereabouts as their birthday. And given some other factors that ultimately would put even more pressure on them due to some more birth-related stuff, to that person, if you're by any chance listening, there's something I want to say. Much as it's going to sound like I'd be crying wolf, even outside this point, I want to say sorry for being little if any better. Maybe you won't believe me, but as they say, belief or disbelief rests with you.

I just wanted you to be strong and awesome, not be living in pain. The irony is, I understood back when I knew you that you're your own person, I couldn't force you to do anything you didn't want to. And why should I? It's similar to why I wouldn't even want telepathy, because that has too high a risk of Power Incontinence and thus things like the contents of girls' diaries....you see the problem there?

Anyway, the point is that I don't necessarily have all the answers. The problem is when I would need that much to begin with. I don't exactly mind being astute, which has brought about bouts of satisfaction, but things like that get suffocated when forced. And perhaps that sort of thing is what you go through. I can only guess, of course, but even if it wasn't an educated guess, your personality has been reason enough I should be empathetic. Morality is complex enough as it is, and people by intentionally being sadists like to make that even worse. Perhaps you think I'm one of those sadists, but like I say, I have idiotic reasons of my own for wanting you to be strong. I don't even know if I should tell you that much, and I'm sure you can guess why, probably within just 5 minutes of interaction with me which is easily more than what the scumbags on the internet even care to give me while thinking they can say whatever they want about me.

So to everybody else, the people who will listen to this stuff anyway, I'm aware that that message may never be heard by the recipient because they'd have to watch this video, and I know the obvious question: why not just search for that person and tell them? Unfortunately, surrounding circumstances make that flatly unreasonable, so burn that idea. At least I get multiple things to work with to help me deal with a VERY severe motivation crash I've been dealing with recently. What's been causing the motivation crash, you may wonder? Too many things to talk about, honestly. Though one significant factor was the absolute failure of my charity stream attempt. Not a single cent donated. Remember: I was using extra-life.org, so the pessimists out there don't have the excuse that I could even use so much as a penny obtained this way for personal stuff in any fit of dishonesty. Most I would get would be some for once positive PR, but even then, I don't see anybody in the video game communities saying anything about the Lane Graves incident.

Something that particularly bothers me is when it turns out that All Women Are Lustful. By itself, that complicates things by making it hard to determine what a female wants. But what really, REALLY pushes it into stupidity is the bias that females show. It's clear that they get arbitrary about who they like based on muscles, looks, money, etc., ergo who they will provide their fun free of charge, and who they will give the time of day. There's just no value placed in bravery or, God forbid, love. I'm like....why?

This sort of thing is actually a consistent problem with BOTH genders, given that a friend's opinion about a popular jerk is that he's the sort who, and I quote: "no matter how horrible he becomes, other people respect him for some reason, so he'll get away with it." I think the problem is still notably idiotic enough with females simply because they more clearly choose who to reward for what. That obviously treats females like trophies, but the way the world works, that's unavoidable at this point, I swear to God.

You people can just try to pass me off as just some loser, but with all the double standards that exist, you lose any and all right to judge me as some awkward and sweaty nerd. But oh right, I forget that the girls you listen to turn you into your cheap lapdogs. I'm sorry, have you even read Macbeth? I already made a point above about how popular people pull their stupidity because they're not only rewarded for it, they don't even care about their own behavior. Popular girls are, if anything, even worse about it, simply by being manipulative.

Girls will complain I don't know them. And they're right: I don't know them, because they don't give me a chance, instead seeing fit to throw stalker accusations in my direction at the drop of a hat. Besides which, it doesn't even change that every lie they tell reveals more truth than they know, and if I have been observant enough at 14 to know the sort of implications arise from the "we're getting married" line being used as a person-to-person introduction to me, there is simply NO reason I'd be failing to be perceptive enough now.

If there is a awesome and nice enough lady out there who has enough interest in me, if you're afraid that YOU would just be manipulated for obvious reasons, here's an idea: make me your personal knight and don't be afraid to work with the concept of equivalent exchange. I shouldn't have to spell out what I'm about to point out, let alone in a public video where the manipulative attempts at Honey Traps would get ammo for their garbage, but apparently I do. If you have bravery, you would be more respectable for overcoming fear rather than having none. If you have creativity, you would be more able to make sure you don't have to give up your fair share. And if you have patience, you would be stronger and nicer for fighting off given problems head-on.

Maybe that's a thick expectation, but who is to say it wouldn't be worth it? I wouldn't even want fake smiling, because that just hides pain, and poorly at that. I have selfish reasons for wanting real smiling, but that's why the expectations exist, simply to at worst mitigate any and all pain for providing that. If you are sure enough you have any better ideas, fire away. I'm honestly wishing at this point that I'm just glass half-empty, not a Cosmic Plaything.
