  45. ....When mankind was already super advanced and living here on the 4th rock from the Sun.....about 54.6 million kilometers from Earth..that is..on Mars, that's got artificial oceans and trees and lakes and the works, in the very far future, which is now, where the real sun had been replaced with a false sun. But yet the innocent mortals inhabiting Mars found powers of darkness running amok due to there being sunless night when it was nighttime, just like on Earth from which these bloodsuckers hailed, having traveled here to Mars as undesired but unfortunately unavoidable stowaways. I.e. the sons and daughters of Cain. Vampires. Could nothing stop them? Or was the mankind really, simply, heartbreakingly alone after all?..........

  47.
  48.
  49. Graveyard shift. A Martian mole dug a hole in the ground. It burrowed onwards and downwards and kept at it until there was a network of little tunnels under the ground.
  50.
  51. A flashlight beam danced across the spot with the hole.
  52.
  53. Rod was the one holding the flashlight and the guy who was meant to shoot all the vermin of this churchyard with his .22 pistol overnight before the priest drinks his morning coffee..
  54.
  55. Rod Mitchell said defamatory things about the vermin under his breath while waving the flashlight and trying to catch 'em in its beam, but the rodents were quicker than you'd think!
  56.
  57. ”..Where are you you little fucks. Just wait 'til I see one of you. There will be no more holes in this churchyard once I've dealt with you little bast..ards.—— ” The man stopped in his tracks because he heard something in the bushes. He aimed his flashlight at the bushes: ”What was it?? Show yourself! Who's there? I got a gun, so you are well informed to back off whoever you may be. —Ehh, prolly just a raccoon dog. Screw this job; but a man's gotta do something in order to bring food to the table. Now where are you ya little wastes of oxygen. Did you critters think you'd get away with your hole making business without being—killed————AAAAAaarrrggh!!?”
  58.
  59. Out of nowhere a dark character leaped at the man named Rod and bit his teeth into his neck under the stars and nightclouds of the wee hours, and next to a nocturnal church, like a tiger; making the poor guy drop his flashlight! The flashlight cast a long and low beam on the churchyard's ground painting a stripe of lawn silvery white. And then the man fell on his knees, with the dark character still biting his neck, almost like a lover would, but this wasn't a bite of love, nor of lust, but of murder: the dark character was drinking his blood! And even though Rod felt several pangs of ecstacy before his light went permanently dim and his eyes turned white and he died, it was only his blood this loathsome creature themselves ever wanted out of him. A creature black of heart. A creature lacking a soul. A creature so afraid of the sun's light that it would never do this dark work of theirs during daylight. ….A vampire. You could see its fangs now as it scowled greedily and satisfactorily from hot, fresh blood's taste. It kept feeding on the poor guy whose graveyard shift had just ended abruptly, and pretty permanently..
  60.
  61. ”And just what the heck do ya think you are doing?” she asked the vampire.
  62.
  63. ”You are a bit late, miss,” it said darkly and with mouth full of blood, ”this one's already a goner.”
  64.
  65. ”And so are you. Enjoying your last meal?”
  66.
  67. ”None'a your business. Ain't there a mouse for you to run after somewhere, miss Misaki? This is.. this is my mouse. He was as good as dead choosing the graveyard shift. Now piss off before you will be the dessert.”
  68.
  69. ”Fair enough, but he was still a person with his own dreams and his own family that you heartlessly took from him just to satisfy your sick and perverted desire, you creep,” Misaki Nocturne – a high school freshman with black hair, red eyes, black cat ears and black cat tail and 34DD boobs – said. Then she gave her arms a stretch by spinning them around and said to the vampire in the silence of the night, raising her fists: ”Come on, cut the bullcrap and let's go. I ain't got all night..”
  70.
  71. ”Fine. Your funeral. My dessert,” said the vampire darkly as it got up and prepared to either attack or defend.
  72.
  73. But the catgirl Misaki was too fast! Suddenly she lowered her stance and like the blade of a helicopter sweeped the vampire's legs so that the vampire fell over and by turning around as quickly as a spinning top she unsheathed her katana and cut the vampire's head clean off! Eugh, she thought: as she had nothing to wipe the katana with. And next, and during the same brief moment, the vampire turned into a pile of ash!
  74.
  75. The fight had ended as quickly as it had started, but on the other hand she had been too slow in order to prevent the innocent's death. Bad habit. She can't be in two places at once. She scabbarded her katana. She would clean it later if there'll be grime on it. She saw that there was a handgun on the ground. She took the handgun so that no kid would find it before the cops and disappeared into the night with it, jumping from a fence onto a rooftop and then onto the next rooftop and across the night sky so that her big-titted and semi-feline shadow could be seen against the whitely glowing full moon and so she landed gracefully onto the next rooftop and so she was gone. To find the next one. And hopefully in time next time around.
  76.
  77. ...Because this is what the schoolgirl Misaki did by night. Misaki was a vampire hunter, you see! And there was no one else like her in her city (this city being Grand Yorke, which was a pretty big city when it came to cities in Mars, you know). ..She had promised her master to try her best at all times. But she only had one pair of hands and only so much time per a stalker in the night and so every once in a blue moon she got around too late like just now. Being late pissed her off to no end but what can ya do: no one is perfect and sometimes even she, the warrior of light and justice, made mistakes. May the guy rest in peace. She won't forget his sacrifice.

  80.
  81. ….....In his dream Mom and Dad are alive. They hug him, first Mom, and then Dad, and tell him that they love him and his sister more than anything in the world like always, and they smile at Nosuke with the sun in the light azure sky between their shoulders; shining so brightly and so full of life; life like the life the sun gives off into the world of the living, and it's like the motherfuckers hadn't killed the two of them during that one rainy night by his parents car when they attacked them with their disgusting fangs, killing them, his parents. He is so happy. So full of the sun's life himself. ...Mom.... …..Dad....... I.. I just want to say to you guys, that–––––
  82.
  83. Nosuke, 15, woke up to his wavy blonde and brown-eyed little sister Sakura Arrington, 9, jumping on him. Again. Just like just about every school morning. Sakura never runs out of energy. Small tears trickled down his cheeks due to the rendezvous with his deceased parents in his dream. After realizing that what he had just experienced had been an ordinary dream Nosuke quickly wiped his eyes with his forearm and said to his overenergetic sister: ”The hell you doing on my bed once again? At least let me snooze 'til my alarm clock rings officially, you little devil!”
  84.
  85. ”What got up your ass?? Good morning to you too, big bro,” Sakura said disgruntedly.
  86.
  87. ”Just saw the best dream ever and you woke me up in the middle of it. Thanks a bunch. And wear some panties you aren't a young child anymore, Sakura. Learn some decency. Jesuschrist,” Nosuke said groggily.
  88.
  89. ”Fiiine. Have it your way. But Rina sent me: she's the one to blame cuz she told me to come wake you up, sleepyhead! She said the breakfast is ready. ..What's this?”
  90.
  91. ”Nothing you stupid: now piss off,” he snapped and turned to lie on his side.
  92.
  93. Sakura blew a raspberry at him and ran off. ...Good that she's gone. Annoying brat. He could still sleep 19 minutes according to the alarm clock if he fell asleep right away, Nosuke thought and closed his eyes.
  94.
  95. A moment later he was watching microdreams when his childhood friend and next-street neighbor and classmate Rina Summerleaf, 15, forced him to wake up the second time. Rina was a comely neighbor's girl with average C cup boobs and average grades and the self-appointed woman of this household; a neighbor's girl with light brown hair and hazel eyes and, like his sister, a penchant for bullying him in the school mornings when he was still unconscious and thus defenseless in his bed (with a boner that cuts diamond because he hadn't peed yet):
  96.
  97. ”Wakey wakey, you gotta eat something before school and I made breakfast!” Rina said commandingly in his room. ”Dude, you really should clean around here.”
  98.
  99. ”I know, I know. But there's still 14 minutes. Can't I just... sleep 14 more minutes? 14 minutes is all I ask from life, and from you Rina. ...Please.”
  100.
  101. Rina climbed on top of him. ”And if you wish to keep your spine don't you dare to use that idiotic, perverted power of yours in order to flee from your responsibility of opening your eyes right now so that I can see that they are open.” By his power the neighbor's girl meant his power to stop time for exactly 13.6 seconds but only if he touches a girl's both breasts at the same time. You heard him right. He didn't know why he had this power. She said: ”Nosuke, open your eyes, Nosuke, open your eyes so that I can see that you are awake! I made breakfast. For all of us. And I wanna eat too before it's too late!”
  102.
  103. ”Fine, fine. You won, Rina. My eyes are open: see.”
  104.
  105. ”Good,” she said.
  106.
  107. ”Now will ya get off my bed so that I can put on my clothes. And what are you even doing here again? Can't you eat breakfast at home? I'm sure your folks would 'preciate if you breakfasted at home for a change of pace, Rina. Not that I'm complaining: we love your cooking.”
  108.
  109. Rina climbed out of his bed and while standing around on Nosuke's room's floor and turning one hundred and eighty degrees to face the door so that he could put on his clothes, she said: ”And since you're not complaining about my cooking, here I am: having cooked us breakfast. No need to thank me. I know that a woman's labor is air to you.”
  110.
  111. Nosuke got up from his bed and put on yesterday's clothes while saying to Rina, ”Normal people usually thank after eating and not before, ya know..” And after he was wearing his yesterday's clothes he yawned into his fist and quickly made his bed and said: ”You can turn around now.”
  112.
  113. She turned around to face him and said calmly with a smile, ”You really should go to sleep sooner, Nosuke. But, umm, I'll be waiting downstairs,” and having said that she left his room and he could hear her walk down the stairs.
  114.
  115. And so another day in his life had just begun.
  116.
  117. If you're now thinking that his life was like some anime series – what with the dead parents and superpowers and female childhood friends – guess again: it was all a coincidence because he was a real person living out an ordinary life that was far from fun. His superpower really was real! But he had thought about his situation often, and how it was like magical realism in that he had that superpower and he happened to be a high schooler, just like in anime, which he of course watched like the next guy. But anime this was not because he had to go to real school, Kerrinton Private High, Kerrinton being the district his school was in, and boringly realistically.
  118.
  119. How long would the dream last? When would everything come tumbling down like a house of cards..? Only God knew. But God also knew that he wasn't an anime protagonist. He was Nosuke Arrington. And he had always been, always living through his five senses up to this point and he guarantees that he was as real and as physical and his life was as real as anybody's! It was just that it was so weird how the fanged cunts had mindlessly slaughtered his parents leaving him live alone with his little sister. But suffice it to say that stranger things happened and that he had always had that superpower so it was not related to the vampire attack on his parents as far as he knew and understood his case. But, just between him and you, maybe he was a natural magician, a person who attracts magic. He would look into his case at a better time but now he needed to act quickly because Rina would otherwise be mad at him again...
  120.
  121. He washed his face in the bathroom the mirror showing a normal guy with nothing to write home about concerning his personality or looks. Then he brushed his teeth, took a leak, washed his hands and went into the dining room.
  122.
  123. The dining room was lit with budding daylight.
  124.
  125. Hazel-eyed Rina touched her light brown hair while putting a wisp behind her ear, and you could see her C cup breasts jiggle just a tiny bit under her school uniform, held tightly together by her bra, and the school uniform being dark and white like the traditional Japanese school uniforms, as she smiled at him vaguely and nodded as they sat down to eat. Rina was clearly pleased that he hadn't just went back to bed but instead came down to eat breakfast with the two of them right away like she had asked.
  126.
  127. ”Omelette!” he said after sitting down to eat. ”Let's see: now lemme just add some ketchup and mustard and it's pretty nice, even more so 'cause I'm hungry.”
  128.
  129. ”Knock yourself out! Couldn't come up with anything else to cook this morning,” Rina belittled herself.
  130.
  131. He started eating with his knife and fork: ”Here we go.”
  132.
  133. Sakura batted the eyelashes of her brown eyes flanked by her wavy blonde hair while holding a knife in her right hand and a fork in her left hand and said that she is going to eat everything in the frying pan him and her won't eat. They said to her that go ahead. Sakura was almost flat – not that he thought about Sakura's breasts per se – but then again she was an elementary schooler so give her some time. Of course, him being fifteen and as such as horny as any fifteen-year-old male he might think of even her just a little bit, but he would think (and only think) of her more if she had breasts indeed. But at least she was wearing panties now (polka dotted with mint dots. Whereas Rina's were pink today).
  134.
  135. And after they had finished eating breakfast him and Sakura thanked the chef. And next him and Rina walked to school while Rina carried two lunchboxes that she had prepared while at home, one for him and one for her, in a bag other than her school bag. While they walked to the bus stop side by side Rina said to him that it looked like today's weather was going to be nice and Nosuke agreed. They weren't a couple, by the way. They had always known each other and him and Rina were more like really good friends, although his best friend was this guy, now that they had entered first class of the day, Derek Ouzaki.
  136.
  137. As Derek was standing around in front of his desk and talking with him as Nosuke was sitting in his desk with his elbow on his desk and palm on his cheek.
  138.
  139. Derek had bright red hair and brown eyes and he, as far as Nosuke had gathered, had a crush on Misaki their classmate. Misaki Nocturne was this cat girl. Misaki was super cute and probably the cutest girl in the school aside of the maid of darkness, the second year student Astalea Lizzabetha who was the bodyguard of Arthur Del Torrex. Everybody knew who Del Torrex was. He was this 442,040 year old king of vampires.
  140.
  141. Astalea was the top student of the school and a famous martial artist. She wore her maid costume even to school; and like said she was a second year student at this private high school and a member of the school's disciplinary committee. Astelea had a long and beautiful wavy blonde hair and dreamy amber eyes, like those of a princess, but don't let her looks fool you, she was still evil, and, it seemed, not of mortal nor vampire blood... As far as Nosuke knew, nobody knew who or what Astalea, the vampire king's bodyguard, was or how old she really was or where the extraordinarily beautiful teen girl came from. Astalea was a 40D cup and her nemesis was our Olivia Hendrixon. Our school rep.
  142.
  143. Our school rep, who was sometimes called Liv by some people, altho' not nearly as often as she was called simply Olivia, was fourteen or fifteen Nosuke didn't know which, and the class rep's family was super rich. Olivia had brown hair and she typically wore her brown hair in pigtails and her eyes were green. He considered Olivia to have pretty average C cup boobies.
  144.
  145. But on the other hand, the vampire king Arthur Del Torrex who had long green hair and gray eyes didn't go to this school. Well duh. The mega famous vampire lord was ancient so of course he didn't!
  146.
  147. But it was cool how Del Torrex's bodyguard Astalea studied in this selfsame school! It was almost like everybody was a celeb because of Astalea graced us with her albeit supercilious but also dazzling presence. The class rep disliked Astalea because of how Astalea always received better grades than her. But Del Torrex lived in a fancy castle and so did Astalea dwell in that castle more often than not (while at the same time living officially in a dorm that resided outside of the castle in the city and near the school) and you couldn't just necessarily expect to beat a girl as cool as Astalea even if you were the class rep, so Olivia could only be jealous of Astalea while never really reaching the studious, meticulous and conscientious maid's level of academic success!!
  148.
  149.
  150. Enzo was his and Derek's friend and classmate and taller and bigger than them. Enzo had shaved his head. Enzo Dalwin was the captain of the baseball club, by the way. Enzo had presumably already had sex and had a girlfriend from another class, Enzo's girl being pretty bueno, not the best one, but not the worst one either; and soon enough Enzo, too, walked up to his desk now that he noticed him chatting with red-haired Derek.
  151.
  152. Enzo said to them, ”Hiya, dudes.”
  153.
  154. Derek nodded at Enzo.
  155.
  156. Nosuke: ”Sup?”
  157.
  158. Enzo: ”What's happening with you two?”
  159.
  160. Derek: ”We were discussing the latest news. Six V attacks last night in our town of six million! Six. Dude, six is a lot if you ask me.”
  161.
  162. Enzo: ”Is it? And how many of those even died?”
  163.
  164. Derek: ”One.”
  165.
  166. Enzo: ”See? Doesn't sound like that much to me..”
  167.
  168. Derek: ”Yeah, but.. G.Y. has seen better days, you know. Back in the day it was one attack per a week or something. An' I'm not even wearing nostalgia goggles while saying that, I looked it up: and so I'm sure there were far fewer attacks in the near past. Something's seriously up in the V world, I tell ya. It'd be a literal suicide to go out after dark.”
  169.
  170. Enzo tapped a Winston, ”Well I got my bat with me all times so the Vs can come at me all they want. No: I insist that they try their fuckin' luck. Who got killed, though?”
  171.
  172. Derek: ”Some pest control dude.. According to the news he was clearing out a churchyard of rodents when he was drained by a V. The V was found killed at the scene, though. The news report didn't know what hit the V, so don't bother asking me. Not the first time a V has been killed in a way that cannot be explained.”
  173.
  174. Enzo: ”Strange. Maybe the V hanged around for too long and got killed off by sunlight? Well pretty strange anyways.”
  175.
  176. Nosuke: ”Not buying it, Enzo: why would any V worth their salt loiter there until sunrise, makes no sense to me. I think it makes far more sense that the pest control guy managed to pierce the V's heart with something he saw lying around, like, say, with a stick. Makes so much more sense at least to me, well as far as common sense dictates it does.”
  177.
  178. Enzo: ”Quick thinking, bro. Yeah, that might be it, I guess!”
  179.
  180. Derek: ”A stick you say? Hmm. Kind of agree with this guy's theory, since it took place at a churchyard and so there's gotta be lots of sticks lying around in a place like it. Yea I'm feeling it. That's how it must have went.”
  181.
  182. Nosuke: ”Or maybe the victim had a weapon of some kind at hand since wasn't he there practicing pest control? Maybe he shot the vampire with his gun?”
  183.
  184. Derek O.: ”Yeah, right. With a frigging silver bullet that he must have had lying around? Dude... You must know lead does nothing to Vs.”
  185.
  186. Enzo D.: ”So much for your quick thinking, Nosuke, heh.”
  187.
  188. Nosuke A.: ”Uh, um, jeez, you guys are right. I'm too tired to think this early. Sorry.”
  189.
  190. ...While the three boys from her class gossiped about the latest lethal vampire attack in the city, Misaki Nocturne was listening to them in her desk and smiling mysteriously to herself but nobody paid attention to the black-haired and red-eyed cat girl as the big-breasted teen beauty Misaki in her school uniform was fiddling a mechanical pencil and her black cat ears twitched as she focused on what Arrington, Ouzaki and Dalwin were saying a few desks away..
  191.
  192. The class rep joined in on their conversation. Olivia said: ”I think Nosuke may still be correct. Maybe the pest control worker had prepared for the worst by loading his gun with silver bullets just in case, even though they say vampire attacks are more of an overblown urban legend than anything.”
  193.
  194. Derek: ”Well, that could be... But no matter what had killed off the vampire in practice, the fact remains that it had been a bona motherfucking fide vampire attack, and as such this city is not safe no matter what they say! If you ask me, don't go out after dark. It'd be foolhardy and there is nothing to win and everything to lose by going out after sunset in my opinion at least. But who would care what I say. Still think so, tho'.”
  195.
  196. Olivia: ”Well said. We at the student council should pass out flyers to warn the students against going out when it's dark in fact, because it is more than likely at least potentially dangerous to do so. I will bring this up at the next student council meeting.”
  197.
  198. Ouzaki: ”Hell yeah!”
  199.
  200. Derek: ”Good call, 'rep.”
  201.
  202. Female student #1: ”So is curfew official now? I got a date lined up...”
  203.
  204. Female student #2: ”Curfew? When???”
  205.
  206. Olivia: ”Not before our next meeting. I will let you all know tomorrow. But a man has just died; not from our school but still, and I would orally advice everybody even today not to step outside after dark which will be when V activity will be more than likely. I'm so sorry it has to be like this, but there is nothing more I can do at this point.”
  207.
  208. Female student #1: ”But my date.”
  209.
  210. Olivia: ”This is literally a matter of life and death, Janise. Screw dates when what you want is to live to see the next day.”
  211.
  212. Female student #1: ”'Guess. But still.. This so sucks.”
  213.
  214. Female student #2: ”Tell me about it! Can't anyone do anything about Vs? Please? I got business in town as well, and I can't always go home before the early spring sun sets as it sets in the afternoon. It's crazy how they expect us to just study and study and study at home all day. Just so plain wrong to keep us locked up in our rooms. So inhumane.”
  215.
  216. Male student #1: ”If Olivia says that it's too dangerous to go out after sunset, then it is. Has the class rep ever been wrong? No, wait, she hasn't.”
  217.
  218. Female student #2: ”What if we always stay with somebody..? Will the V's attack even groups? I for one don't think they would.”
  219.
  220. Male student #1: ”Vs may attack even groups of five or ten for all we know. Why wouldn't they? They are much stronger than us. It's unfair but that's how it is. And even the police's got way limited resources so the cops won't always be patrolling where we happen to be. So if I were you people I wouldn't take the risk even with friends around watching your back. It's just not worth it in case myth becomes reality all of a sudden and you will find yourself severely underpowered when shit hits the fan.”
  221.
  222. Female student #2: ”What if we bamboozle the Vs by wearing fake fangs from a costume store so that the Vs think we're one of them and won't attack us?”
  223.
  224. Male student #1: ”Sounds real smart. Why dontcha try it and see how it'll pan out...”
  225.
  226. Female student #2: ”Tssh. Mind your own business, loser.”
  227.
  228. Olivia: ”In all seriousness, her fake fang idea wouldn't work because based from what V data we got in our possession, Vs can always tell us mortals from one of them. And, besides, they have exhibited high intelligence more than once so I would be extra careful trying to outsmart them: any such moves of subterfuge simply wouldn't work with Vs, I'm afraid.”
  229.
  230. Female student #2: ”Can't ya people at the student council force Astalea to co op with you guys on the matter so that Vs would stay away from the discos and karaoke joints at the very least?”
  231.
  232. Female student #1: ”Yeah! And fast food restaurants! A great idea to be honest, Lynne.”
  233.
  234. Olivia shook her head, and said to Janise and Lynne: ”Astalea has a mind of her own, and seeing how Ms. Lizzabetha is very proud and hard to get on our side on any matter not to mention on a matter pertaining to her personal life outside school, there is little help we can get from Astalea.”
  235.
  236. Female student #2: ”Can you at least talk to Astalea, Olivia? I'm sure Astalea'll know what's up.”
  237.
  238. Olivia promised to her female classmate that she will talk with Astalea. Although everybody and their mother knew that Olivia despised Astalea and that Astalea had picked up on Olivia's dislike of her, so it was hard to imagine Astalea warming up to Olivia all of a sudden!
  239.
  240. Then Enzo leaned to whisper to Nosuke, ”Saw you guys walk to school again.. You should ask Rina out before somebody else will, man. She's not half bad so what the fuck are ya tarrying for, Nosuke, confess already. Just sayin', it's your duty to plow that, before some other guy will, anyways, and they will trust me,” but then the teacher stepped into the class room and the class started and everybody sat down in their desks.
  241.
  242. But be that as it may, Nosuke liked many girls and none of them particularly right now so if he asked her childhood friend out, and 'sides why the heck would he do that kinda thing anyway?, then he would no longer be single and allowed to flirt with other girls even in his mind – which would be like marriage and he wasn't ready for that kind of oppressive and exhausting deal right now, he felt. But when it came to Rina herself he didn't have a clue who she liked, not that it mattered.

  246. – TWO –
  247.
  248. 1
  249.
  250. ...During the same school day and while in the school premises, and during lunch break, Astalea Lizzabetha, the ancient green-haired vampire king's personal bodyguard was eating her lunch alone outdoors under a springtime maple tree in the tree's shade while wearing brown sunglasses and, of course, her congenital maid costume she would probably not take off even during a fire. A parasol was there to cast an extra shade over the maid...
  251.
  252. When Olivia and her friend from the school council, Rand Keys who was a second-year student like Astalea although not from her class, walked up to her.
  253.
  254. The extremely cute wavy blonde-haired and amber-eyed 40D cup in the maid costume, who looked about fourteen or maybe even fifteen, but who the heck knew about this one: in any case Astalea was already a second-year so she should be about sixteen, technically, said with a red tea on her maid's lips and her infernal pinky pointing towards the sun: ”Well, well, well. Look who has come to see a mere human being.”
  255.
  256. ”You a human being?” Olivia said amazedly. ”Last I checked you mind controlled every boy at the school.”
  257.
  258. ”I have done no such thing.”
  259.
  260. ”Then why do they eat from your hand?”
  261.
  262. Astalea shrugged, sipping her red tea and then lowering her posh ceramic tea cup onto its small saucer, and ate a bite out of a salt cracker, and then she took another sip of tea, swallowing, and lowered the cup again, and said faux innocently to the freshman class rep: ”Maybe the boys of this school can tell a pearl from a swine.”
  263.
  264. ”And who are you calling a swine?” Olivia said redly.
  265.
  266. ”No one,” Astalea said faux innocently. ”Just said.”
  267.
  268. ”Nobody is calling anyone anything... Our venerable top one student Ms. Lizzabetha must have meant something that didn't exactly transfer. This time. But maybe we could start from scratch? Uh, Olivia, would you tell Ms. Lizzabetha our humble business, please? She must be very busy,” said Rand with a brown tongue.
  269.
  270. ”You better not imply that I am a, a, a swine. I'll have you know that I get approached by the opposite sex on a monthly basis,” lied Olivia to the maid.
  271.
  272. ”On a monthly basis, you say? How often! But, well, more power to you I guess,” the maid said.
  273.
  274. ”And, may I ask you, a member of the disciplinary committee, how often do you get asked out at our school?” The class rep asked her angrily.
  275.
  276. ”Weekly,” Astalea claimed.
  277.
  278. Rand didn't say anything. But Olivia could have guessed by reading the undercurrents that Rand, too, had asked this bitch from Hell out in his time, and very likely in vain to top it off. Olivia of course had lied, though: no one had asked her out so far at this school. Who the hell gets asked out on a weekly basis????, the class rep thought in her mind, being now rather infuriated. Is that girl even a virgin??? Probably not, heh he heh: in fact she must be a major whore being asked out that often!!!
  279.
  280. Olivia said aloud to Astalea: ”More power to you as well, then. Do you smoke grass too these days seeing how there is absolutely no control in your horny little body?”
  281.
  282. Astalea smiled haughtily and shook her head. ”Of course I don't...and who said I'm 'horny.' What a word to pick at this hour. I have turned every single one of them down of course. Now what business do you, the class rep and the daughter of the mayor have with the likes of me? Looking to get high?”
  283.
  284. ”W-w-what?? No. You must be aware that I am so not whatever you may think in your little.. lust-struck mind,” Olivia said infuriatedly.
  285.
  286. But Astalea remained cool, saying only: ”Whatever.”
  287.
  288. Rand said with a brown tongue: ”I think there's been a minor communication breakdown here that we can look through our fingers. May we sit down, if you don't mind? We do got normal business related to our student council work to discuss with you, miss Lizzabetha if you are just as kind to give us a chance to speak.”
  289.
  290. ”Go ahead: knock yourselves out and sit on your backpockets all ya want...just not on my extra large picnic blanket, please.”
  291.
  292. They sat down on the grass.
  293.
  294. Then Rand said to the otherworldly girl: ”We– we came to see you because students have been pestering us on the obvious matter that you happen to be our only go-to person on, as you may guess.”
  295.
  296. The maid looked Rand in the eye and asked him: ”And? What do you two want from me exactly? I don't got all day...”
  297.
  298. Olivia snapped: ”You got fifteen more minutes! Recess just started and you just sat down!”
  299.
  300. But Rand said apologetically and with a brown tongue: ”She may got other business she needs to sort out during this recess, Olivia, as she is very busy like we all know, understand and accept, so let us be very brief. We want Vs to cease their mindless attacks on people and find an alternative source of nutrition, if it's not too much to ask. At this rate the students can't concentrate on their studies properly, and nobody wants them to fall behind. So is there anything you can do, miss? Talk to someone? Talk to the Vs, maybe? Please: that would mean so much to us if you would. Nay, it would mean the world to us if you would be so kind to just say even one word to the Vs that'd help us.”
  301.
  302. Astalea sipped red tea and lowered her cup, and said with a visible fang; although it was just a human fang, although it did not meaning that Astalea was a human necessarily: ”And why would I do that? A minute ago she called me a horndog. Girls got these funny things called feelings, ya know.”
  303.
  304. ”Because,” Olivia started infuriatedly, ”I was only kidding, while murdering people, on the other hand, is not a joke. Or at least it's not funny. Maybe you think it's a joke. And maybe you joke literally i.e. kill people while out there after school hours, when other people are studying, but as far as all the rules of normalcy are concerned, murdering i-innocent p-people is. not. funny. So why don't you take your head out of your ass and call that mold-headed lover, or whatever the fuck the bloodsucking king Del Torrex of yours is and tell him to stop feeding on us humans before, and you can say this to him, before I personally go visit him in that shitkicking castle of his and end his prolonged existence right there and then you. smug. little. shitstain.”
  305.
  306. ”Oh boy,” Astalea said. ”Looks like someone has shown their real self a bit there again.”
  307.
  308. ”Furthermore I would like to add that promiscuous behavior is totally NOT acceptable for a previously highly thought of member of the disciplinary committee of this private school that is equally highly thought of. What would the school board say if they learned that you, Ms. Lizzabetha, are nothing better than a twenty-dollar prostitute while still in the school premises while you SHOULD be and, indeed, it is EXPECTED of you to be an example and a paragon of decency. I cannot believe what I have heard you speak today to me, Ms. Lizzabetha. But I guess there is no way around your words seeing how you actually physically said what you said about you and b-boys of our school,” Olivia said infuriatedly.
  309.
  310. ”Fine, effin' fine. I'll have a word with the more rowdy Vs. Just don't tell the school board about my escapades, please, as I am sure they would not detect the sarcasm of my claim and would thus take it immediately 100% literally like some people...”
  311.
  312. Rand: ”I'm sorry that you two don't get along, but did you actually mean your promise that you made to us just now, Ms. Lizzabetha? Because if you did I don't know what else to say but how that would be awesome and exactly what we wanted!”
  313.
  314. ”Do I look like a liar? If I said I will, I will. Just so you know, I never lie. Words have power so I am always truthful,” the maid of darkness said.
  315.
  316. Wait a minute, the class rep thought in her mind, being red of face and up to her ears now because she had never liked the sophomore maid girl who always managed to piss her off just with her passive-aggressive existence; and if she never lies then did Astalea actually let boys get so close to her that they asked her out on a weekly basis?? Because that was utterly and abominably disgusting if true!! Admittedly the girl was cute as a button even though Olivia hated to admit it. But still, that many boys added up to dozens per a school year. Jesus Christ. And for some reason she didn't even doubt Astalea's words...what a town bicycle she was looking at.
  317.
  318. Rand said: ”So you will talk to the Vs and we got your word and can expect results any day now?”
  319.
  320. Astalea took a bite out of a salt cracker and nodded, mumbling a yes while eating the bite. And after eating it she took a sip from her red tea and lowering the cup onto its ceramic saucer she looked Rand and the class rep in the eye and said innocently or faux innocently that why would she lie on such a serious matter, and then she told them bye-bye.
  321.
  322. So they had Astalea's word, then! Nice going even if Olivia says so herself!
  323.
  324. Gosh she is pretty, the class rep thought. Rand thanked her and then they left her be. The class rep was on a bad mood for the rest of recess, while reminiscing how boys asked her nemesis out weekly. Weekly. WEEKLY. ….What a whore.
  325.
  326. 2
  327.
  328. ...Meanwhile, on the roof, where Rina and Nosuke were eating lunch from their lunchboxes...
  329.
  330. Nosuke said to his childhood friend while using his chopsticks in the daylight of about ten o clock' on Mars: ”You have exceeded your cooking skills again! Loving it. You really are a five star chef, Rina, gotta admit.”
  331.
  332. Rina blushed and pushed her school skirt down because the wind was pulling it up constantly and showing glimpses of her pink panties if he was attentive, while eating with her chopsticks that she held in her free hand: ”Well... thanks, Nosuke, glad you're liking the lunchbox I prepared for you, for us, but there's no need to say it, so just relax. You make it almost sound like we are dating or something!”
  333.
  334. ”Ha– a dumb thought,” Nosuke said as white puffy clouds glided speedlessly in the light blue spring sky. ”Maybe we should ask Misaki to eat with us next time: look how she's just sitting there with no friend.”
  335.
  336. ”A fine idea!” Rina beamed. ”Too bad we ain't got a third lunchbox to share with her.”
  337.
  338. ”Yup. Misaki is always so sinister and in her own world that she probably forgets to eat to boot. ”
  339.
  340. ”But it's rude to talk of her behind her back,” Rina reminded.
  341.
  342. ”Ahh: you are right. I will say no more about her.”
  343.
  344. ”I'll prepare a third lunchbox tomorrow morning. .. Do you really like yours, Nosuke? I mean, really?”
  345.
  346. ”Yup!!!!”
  347.
  348. ”Wow... I had almost no time to make these. I'm getting pretty good at this,” Rina said while nibbling her lunch, ”and you are quite the people person nowadays.”
  349.
  350. ”Whattaya mean?” he asked her while eating.
  351.
  352. ”Nothing.”
  353.
  354. Nosuke shrugged, not knowing what Rina meant, but guess she meant nothing since she said nothing, though.
  355.
  356. And after making her straw dark Rina said: ”Don't tell me you are going to disobey the curfew today even though it's not official yet?”
  357.
  358. ”'Course not.”
  359.
  360. ”Well good.”
  361.
  362. ”Why you ask?”
  363.
  364. ”'Cause of Sakura: there has to be someone around taking care of her safety because ya never know if you or her have unknowingly given a permission to a V to enter you guys' house in past that you've forgotten about and.. then somethin' bad would happen to her as a result if you aren't present at home at that time. Because you know how the Vs can be clever, and they could've tricked Sakura, for example, to accept their entering you guys' house at some point. Ah, it's just a dumb thought I've had in my mind lately.”
  365.
  366. ”What is?”
  367.
  368. ”That what if.. What if due to her naive young age she has given a V a permission to enter your place in the past, like, in that the V would've tricked her to give it the permission. But it might just be my stressed out mind speaking again so don't bother worrying because of what I said, just you being there for her should be enough in my book,” Rina said maternally.
  369.
  370. ”Sure. Was planning on staying home anyways!”
  371.
  372. ”And somebody should be there making dinner tonight because she'll otherwise die of hunger.”
  373.
  374. ”Uh-huh.”
  375.
  376. ”And you need to eat too.”
  377.
  378. ”Well that's.. true of course. I'll buy something on my way home. Thanks for reminding me, Rina.”
  379.
  380. ”You don't know how to buy food, so don't even try,” the light brown haired and hazel-eyed girl rejected while pressing down on her skirt and eating with her chopsticks from her lunchbox, ”but I'll come over and cook something for you guys.”
  381.
  382. ”Mmm. But I was planning on playing an online video game that will eat up all my time, and I'm not so sure..”
  383.
  384. ”And that's why I'll come over. Don't you worry, you won't need to do anything except to eat when the dinner will be ready at 7:30 p.m. like always. Your mother would have appreciated me doing this for you two.”
  385.
  386. ”Naw, it's cool. If it's that important for you then.. so be it,” and then he ruffled his hair with his fingernails and continued: ”we do got a microwave oven for a reason, though, but, um, maybe Sakura needs to eat more than just ramen, so, maybe you are right and we'll eat by us three again.”
  387.
  388. ”Yep. At 7:30.”
  389.
  390. ”Yeah...” Nosuke said botheredly while eating his lunch under the sky of Mars, in the city of Grand Yorke, and under white city birds, which was a pretty big town, all in all, of six million people not including the greater metropolitan area, like someone said a while back. And in six million there must be the girl he'll never meet out there somewhere; perhaps many girls he'll never meet, and the reason is probably obvious by now because it'd be impossible for him to escape this mental prison whose only warden and dictator is that girl. Nothing wrong with his childhood friend of course, but it's just that she is just one girl. And always her alone.
  391.
  392. ”7:30 it is,” Nosuke affirmed.
  393.
  394.
  395.
  396.
  397. – THREE –
  398.
  399.
  400. 1
  401.
  402. And the sun had set and after dinner and after Rina had finally went back to her actual home Nosuke sneaked out of the Arrington estate and put on his white helmet and jumped on his light blue scooter and drove it –while wearing a light fur collar coat since it was chilly outside – to a playground that was far enough from home so that Rina couldn't possibly see him be there (and not home watching after Sakura). Sakura was a big girl she could take care of herself. It wasn't like Sakura had actually given a permission to a fucking vampire to enter their house, Rina had fantasized up that claim somehow, but true it wasn't, and true it couldn't be. Listening to Rina even once. Hell, listening to a girl even once. Rina was still a girl and what the fuck did girls know about anything, ever.
  403.
  404. He parked his scooter next to a playhouse, and walking it behind it so that you couldn't see it from the street, just in case, he circled to the front of the playhouse and tried sitting down on the slide; but the slide was too cold to sit on, and so he stood up and went to the plastic swings and sat down on one of them and began swinging .. super slowly so that his swinging didn't look gay.
  405.
  406. .. And it was so nice to be finally alone! The deepening blue city sky was lit with late evening's stars and he was surrounded by tall buildings, and a rattling train track and a noisy motor road. The trains themselves were quiet but the elevated track itself was not and the surrounding ambience provided an actually pretty nice background for his misogynistic feelings. While at home he had been always surrounded by one or two women. He had blue balls because of Sakura and how she constantly used this tool they use at the dentist's in order to spy on his baths and his online behavior, if you know what he means. And at school Rina was always tagging along. She was a nice person and he didn't hate it that Rina was there. Besides who hated female beauty and Rina was just as comfy and pleasurable to lay your eyes on every once in a while as any other woman, but she was there always, and his nerves were filled up to the brim with her bossy and self-assured double x chromosome beingness right now and therefore he loved the chilly evening air and just his own soul right now as his only companion, next to the late evening out here in the city. . .
  407.
  408. How was it even possible that he was alone right now. What could go wrong.
  409.
  410. Apparently something could. A young girl in an extra long gray hoodie and no pants or shoes or socks on her, making her barefooted and so that the hoodie covered her nigh up on the other hand, walked up to him. She was maybe twelve, and almost flat, but also increasingly cute, and her brown eyes looked distant, and gray hair was both messy and wavy; like a lunar river crossed by two other lunar rivers, and so she was almost like made to hang out at this late evening metropolitan playground, because how soulless she looked, and how lost she was. But she was not alone. She had with her a stray cat. It had tailed her here: was it hers?
  411.
  412. Nosuke nodded at her and asked her whether she was alone.
  413.
  414. ”Kitten is hungry,” the cute girl said listlessly.
  415.
  416. ”I'm Nosuke. What's your name?”
  417.
  418. ”Alizz... Jin.”
  419.
  420. ”Alizz Jin? Your name is Alizz Jin?”
  421.
  422. She nodded. ”First name is A – L – I – Z – Z and then last name is J – I – N.”
  423.
  424. ”Nice to meet you, then, Alizz. Are you here by yourself?”
  425.
  426. Alizz nodded.
  427.
  428. ”At this hour?”
  429.
  430. ”I saw you sit here and wondered whether you'd have snacks. For him.”
  431.
  432. ”Nuhh I'm afraid I don't but we can buy something if we take you home. Are you lost, or? Y-you do know about the Vs, d-don't you?”
  433.
  434. Alizz nodded, and smiled. ”I'm not afraid of them,” and then she sat down next to him on a swing and took the small and young cat that was apparently male into her arms, as it let out a quiet meow while she put her arms around it and began to pet it, ”Are you afraid?”
  435.
  436. Nosuke looked upwards into the cold sky, thinking quickly what death meant to him – and what it didn't mean to him, and replied to the cute girl with a kitten: ”Nope.”
  437.
  438. ”Why not?”
  439.
  440. ”We all die. I mean, sooner or later we– we must die.”
  441.
  442. ”Correct,” she said. ”You're kind of good-looking now that I look at cha. Is there a Mrs. Nosuke?”
  443.
  444. ”Arrington actually. Arrington is my last name. And no I.. I haven't thought about...”
  445.
  446. ”Girls?”
  447.
  448. ”I don't.. I don't remember what I was going to say,” he said confusedly. He shouldn't have looked her in the eye. There was something about her that made his head spin like a billion merry-go-rounds.
  449.
  450. But the girl said, ”You were about to say that you haven't thought about. And then you stopped. Like that. I haven't thought about. But then you said nothing. What haven't you thought about, Nosuke?”
  451.
  452. ”I... I need to leave.”
  453.
  454. ”Don't go just yet. Pretty please? You promised to buy him snacks. Don't look me in the eye, though, I am poison ivy to your kind.”
  455.
  456. ”Are you a V?” he asked while covering his eyes with his hand, not from her beauty, which was supernatural in itself, but from her absolutely knock out eyes that were literally knock out. He was literally passing out while trying to cover his eyes in vain.
  457.
  458. ”Quick look the other way.”
  459.
  460. ”Ah! Right: why didn't I think of that.”
  461.
  462. She stroked the kitten's fur as she said, ”'Cause you probably aren't used to not looking people in the eye when talking to them, are you.”
  463.
  464. Nosuke got off the swing and went lying on his back and instead of looking into her eye he looked into the stars. Then he repeated his question: ”Are you a human?”
  465.
  466. ”Cambion.”
  467.
  468. ”Half V half us, you mean?”
  469.
  470. Alizz touched his hip with her toes, turning him on (she was wearing white panties). But he had no idea whether turning him on or just toying with him somehow had been her intent: ”Mother was like you. But she is an angel in Heaven.”
  471.
  472. ”Ditto. Same goes for Dad.”
  473.
  474. ”I'm sorry.”
  475.
  476. ”Don't be. Are you permanently unable to look people in the eye, Alizz?”
  477.
  478. ”Am I supposed to be honest with you?”
  479.
  480. ”No I guess.” So she probably did the eye thing on purpose he figured. While lying on the sandy ground of the playground in his jacket whose fur collared hoodie supported his neck like a pillow, he asked Alizz who was sitting on a swing and petting a stray kitten: ”Where's your dad?”
  481.
  482. ”He exists,” she said laconically.
  483.
  484. ”Well that's good, I guess, or is it. But I guess it is.”
  485.
  486. ”He's not really a dad dad, you know, he raped her, my mother, and then he split: not really one you'd call a daddy on a Christmas day. Why is there no Mrs. Nosuke? You never explained fully why you're hanging out here alone. And why are you not afraid? You're such a mystery.”
  487.
  488. ”I didn't get to explain fully because it was for a second there like I was inside of a dream or a shroom trip.”
  489.
  490. ”I totes know what you mean. But that was my bad, I admit. You are not afraid because you are hiding something. You got a secret. ..A secret power. ...I think I know now.”
  491.
  492. ”You a mind reader? Cut it out, will ya.”
  493.
  494. ”I'm not a mind reader, I'm a people reader. Okie I'm a mind reader as well but it's not how you think it is: it doesn't work how you think it works. I can only take guesses at what your secret power is. Maybe it's kung fu. Or being able to run faster than the fastest runner alive. Or. Or. Maybe you are suicidal?”
  495.
  496. ”Am not.”
  497.
  498. ”A guess as good as any. I'm almost proud of myself. Tell me already, what is it? What's your secret power, boy named Nosuke?”
  499.
  500. ”You don't wanna hear it it's embarrassing.”
  501.
  502. ”Then don't tell. I have kept a secret from you as well. Unless of course you wanna swap a secret for a secret,” Alizz said.
  503.
  504. He weighed the pros and cons of sharing his secret with the cambion girl Alizz in order to learn her secret in reciprocation. Maybe her secret was her true age? Maybe Cambions aged faster or slower he didn't know. But it wasn't like he really cared what it was. There were so many people and Alizz would be just one of them. One of the many. On the other hand, as long as she didn't do anything evil she was a person too, even though her blood had been tainted since her birth against her will. But fucking fine. He wanted to know just strongly enough to share her stupid superpower with the cute girl; her being a cute girl didn't make sharing it with her any easier on him of course, though.
  505.
  506. ”Fine: let's say our secrets at the same time,” he said finally.
  507.
  508. ”Will we count from three to one?”
  509.
  510. ”Sure, I mean, we could start counting right now. Three, two.. one–”
  511.
  512. And right after he had counted till one they spilled out their secrets in one common breath, not initially making sense of what they had said, but after they had discussed each other's secrets they had learned them. Alizz of course giggled after hearing his. They always giggled. And the prettier they were, the more they hurt, and there was no one prettier than Alizz, maybe, or at least it very well could be that there weren't. And the evening stars heard their secrets too, and so did the kitten; and if somebody had been spying on them they heard them too. Her secret was, wait for it, that she could abide in sunlight without dying true death. Well he had never met a cambion and he had never looked up what a cambion was on the internet so it was new to him. Pretty cool. But the girl was still giggling and it wasn't like she was showing signs of going to stop anytime soon. He hated his superpower – and this was the very reason.
  513.
  514. ”13.6 seconds?” Alizz asked.
  515.
  516. ”Yeppers.”
  517.
  518. ”Any idea why exactly 13.6 seconds, and not 13.5 or 13.7?”
  519.
  520. He shook his head.
  521.
  522. ”Get outta here...”
  523.
  524. ”Wasn't a lie, ya know.”
  525.
  526. ”Yeah, but..if you really ain't full of shit then why, why, why do you have such a sleazy special power?” Alizz asked Nosuke while chuckling and almost scaring the kitten off as her chest shook from laughter but she didn't let the kitten jump off but instead kept her arms tightly around the small cat and thus prevented him from jumping off.
  527.
  528. ”Beats me. I was born with it. Maybe it's God's joke? And maybe especially considering how I'm always alone with Sakura and I'm always wishing for a moment of respite from her but there's no way I could feel up my own sister, you know, that'd just not be cool for clear reasons, and maybe, or at least how I've always thought of it, is that maybe God somehow knew even before I was born that I'd be destined to share the household with that hyperactive kid and so He granted me my ironic power.”
  529.
  530. ”Hey that makes sense in a weird postmodern kinda way. So Sakura is your sibling?”
  531.
  532. ”Yeah.”
  533.
  534. ”Got any other siblings?”
  535.
  536. ”Nope.”
  537.
  538. ”You live with a girl? Just the two of you? How old is she?”
  539.
  540. ”Nine.”
  541.
  542. ”Woah, woah, woah. Back the fun bus the fuck up. A boy your age and a girl her age? Living alone? Just the two of you?? Just the two of you under the same roof 24/7/365 with nobody else? Dontcha ever try to rape this Sakura chick?”
  543.
  544. Nosuke shook his head. It's not like he had never thought of it. But he was a good person so he would never lay his hand on Sakura in any way imaginable except in the dreamworld if it happened there on its own accord and if it happened in the dreamworld then it happened but those were just dreams, but otherwise nope, just no.
  545.
  546. ”You are such a mystery, Nosuke,” the lunar girl said, ”I promise to stop laughing in under a minute or else I'll make this little guy run to the hills.”
  547.
  548. ”Take your time. I know my.. my superpower is dumb. And I suspect it's got to do with Sakura like I said but there is no way to prove such things.”
  549.
  550. ”Prove what? That it works?”
  551.
  552. ”No: that I already know. But I meant that there's no way to prove that my superpower is related to Sakura in some way.”
  553.
  554. ”Ah. Gotcha,” she said while giving the kitten a calming stroke and the kitten meowed: ”Meow..”
  555.
  556. ”Wow I'm still dizzy. What did ya just do to me?”
  557.
  558. ”Tried to read you.”
  559.
  560. ”Okay it doesn't matter. I would have done the same thing if I had just strolled up to a stranged and if I had a mind reading ability.”
  561.
  562. She touched him from under his shirt with her toes.
  563.
  564. And neither of them said anything.
  565.
  566. But then Alizz asked him, as the late hour city stars watched down on the three of them from the sky, if you counted in the kitten in her lap, that is, ”Do you like your little sister?”
  567.
  568. ”Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.”
  569.
  570. ”Gotcha. Sakura must feel similarly about you, Nosuke. Will I sleep in your bed overnight?”
  571.
  572. ”Okay.”
  573.
  574. 2
  575.
  576. And in the early morning, Alizz didn't turn into ash upon the first rays from the sun from his room's window, and they now had a cat – because the little fellow had had nowhere else to live.
  577.
  578. But when Sakura came to wake him up his sister quickly closed the door this time.
  579.
  580. And he had no idea how Sakura must have felt. Not that his women were none of his sister's business – if you can call Alizz his woman seeing how nothing happened between them. Alizz just slept overnight in his bed like she had said, falling asleep immediately, and now they were lying in the day's first light, and there the cambion girl still was; breathing gently in her sleep by his side with a pillow of her own under her head, although they had shared the same blanket, which was still on them, warmly; and how pretty she looked: like an angel. He simply looked at her, leaving her be in that he would not betray her trust by touching her or anything. But there was no harm in watching her now that her eyes were safely and gently shut from the outside world, that same world that had taken her mother so soon from her.
  581.
  582. But just who was he? He never really stopped to tell you who he was: who was this orphan, and high school freshman people called Nosuke Arrington and who had this dumbass superpower that almost made it impossible to bond with a girl knowing how she'd laugh her ass off and be incredulous after learning about it, although this time that didn't happen, perhaps thankfully, since he now had a new friend; or a potential new friend anyways, and so there she was. Which was a miracle in its own right because she was beyond cute, this Alizz girl. I mean just look at her. She was so beautiful that even angels would be ugly when compared to the lunar girl, probably. She was so pretty! So pure. But he began to feel guilty watching her. He blew on her nose ever so lightly. . . . but she didn't wake up: she was fast asleep.
  583.
  584. He could only try and guess what thoughts ran through Sakura's mind currently. And if that other woman in her life will barge in their home this morning, and no doubt she will because this was a school day's morning, and if and when Sakura will let her know about Alizz, then he could only guess what thoughts would plague Rina's mind in turn!!
  585.
  586. Would Rina simply laugh the whole thing off? Or, would Rina even respect his personal space by not even laughing or even thinking about Alizz almost at all, but just see girl in his bed as being a pretty normal thing in this world of two polar sexes? Who the heck knows.
  587.
  588. He never asked for this evil. He never saw this coming. It was just something that had happened and now he was stuck with this marvel of nature in his room, and the clock ticked.....fifty minutes later he would need to get up as the alarm would ring. And fifty minutes later Rina would most definitely learn about Alizz if not sooner.
  589.
  590. What should he do? Well, what was there that he could do? And why would he do anything?? He was a person of his own. But why did he feel so bad??? Bad for spying on Alizz without asking for her permission first and bad for cheating on his childhood friend's vulnerable heart; because, you never knew, maybe Rina liked him somehow, like at least in the sense that he was Rina's earliest friend.
  591.
  592. And, then there was this thing about Alizz being who she was and what if Sakura had somehow seen Alizz's nature – her species – from Alizz's extraordinary beauty??? What would the two girls that weren't Alizz say if and when they'd learn that he had just spent the night with a dhampir. Okay the scientific word they used was cambion: for some reason it was. But she was a dhampir alright. A half-vampire. A dangerous being.
  593.
  594. Did cambions drink blood? (He would look up that very important detail about Alizz – whether she was a bloodsucker – once he gets to his phone or at school at the latest if he doesn't otherwise remember to make the search for ”do cambions drink blood.”)
  595.
  596. ..But Sakura might have been pissed off because she now opened his door again and dropped the kitten into his room and then closed his door. Or maybe Sakura wasn't pissed off per se but tried to hide the kitten from Rina? Who knows. Who knows what an action done by a female meant at any given time without asking her what it had meant.
  597.
  598. Fourty-three minutes 'til the alarm. He hadn't heard the front door open yet so Rina probably wasn't downstairs. Probably wasn't but who could tell for sure when it came to Rina who was a ninja sometimes when it came to doors.
  599.
  600. … .He watched at the sleeping girl while the kitten explored his room.
  601.
  602. The kitten was black with green eyes and its tummy and chin was white. He had never really thought of animals. Eh. Guess animals didn't matter. Not right now they didn't matter to him, anyway.
  603.
  604. But where had he been before he had lost his track of thought? Right. He was about to tell who he was. Well his parents had been killed by a vampire or vampires when him and Sakura had been little and while Mom and Dad had been by their car on the side of a road; it had been a near roadkill and Dad had been apparently putting the near roadkill that had been almost dead but still alive out of its misery with a hammer – because the hammer had been the only object Dad had had with him. And then from the dark trees or from the road a V or Vs had attacked them and killed them both.
  605.
  606. And yea he was born with this useless ”superpower;” time really did stop alongside of all the objects and people et cetera if he only touched a girl's both breasts at the same time: which, he guessed, would make certain things awkward. But luckily this was only for 13.6s so no biggie. If only he was kidding.
  607.
  608. And, um, he basically had lowkey had a girl in his life, his childhood friend, but, nevertheless, both Rina and him were kissless and handholdless virgins. Sounds too weird? Well maybe it even was too weird for the two of them to have never done anything ”sexual” or close to it. In any case, he guesses that it was high time for him to take a gander at his miserable life but he was afraid of movement and so he had so far effectively been putting off taking a look at his life up to this point and now that the moon fairy was breathing ever so gently in his bed he was no longer sure whether things would stay the same forever, or even for a comfortably short time.
  609.
  610. 33 minutes 'til the alarm. Maybe he should call in sick, he thought, but then again maybe not. Wait a minute. Did Alizz go to school, by the way????? Why hadn't he thought that? Maybe it was because of the early hour and he was still tired. Or maybe he was dumb, because he hadn't thought of whether Alizz went to school yesterday either, now that he thought of it.
  611.
  612. 15 minutes till the alarm and his phone received a text message. He climbed like a ninja from under the bedcover and out of his bed and took his phone from his pants pocket and saw that it was from Misaki, the cat girl from his class. What might she want??? He had never even talked with Misaki. And a day after he had gotten a cat! He read it:
  613.
  614. ”Meet you after school at Lonvardo Fountains 5:00 PM. Don't be late. --M”
  615.
  616. Lonvardo Fountains? Ohh... that catgirl must mean the zoo in Lonvardo district where there is that waterfall, he realized! The same waterfall where more than one people had lost their lives over the years. You typically weren't meant to jump into a waterfall that high unless you wanted to live but there was this tall bridge crossing the waterfall (i.e. the Fountains, so called; well Fountains was the waterfall's name in that zoo located in Lonvardo which was in this city), and sometimes people fell into their deaths off of that bridge! Misaki was a little..idiosyncratic..being always alone, and rarely smiling sunnily at other students, and so maybe she found the waterfall that had a tragic past cool somehow, who knows. Or maybe Misaki just liked waterfalls in general. He would make it there in time if he'd go to school by scooter today. Hopefully the intent behind the rendezvous was nothing too serious, in that hopefully that catgirl was just in need of a new friend and not planning to push him to his early demise, or anything!
  617.
  618. ”..I'll come as well,” Alizz said. So she had read the text message from behind his shoulder.
  619.
  620. ”Sure: fine by me. 'Course. She's just this classmate of mine and we've never even talked. Don't know what she might want from me. So you're awake?” he said turning around and then he saw a most pretty girl in front of him: with sunlight gently glimmering all over her, and her hoodie covering her more sensitive areas from his lowly sight, with messy silver hair, and with a flawless face to go with it, that yawned so prettily into the back of her small hand that he almost fell over and died right there and then. ”Gosh you're pretty,” he said to the cambion girl: without planning or meaning to say so, it just happened.
  621. But Alizz surprised him and leaned over into a kiss. He had never been so hot, or so red, or so violently hard as he was right now with her lips against his as if he was right now in the best dream any man had ever seen.
  622.
  623. ”You got two healthy hands so you don't need me with that~ But maybe later when you least expect it, assuming you don't cheat on me before it,” Alizz said softly, making his head spin like a crazy horse because he had never heard a girl say something as lewd.
  624.
  625. ”Did I ask?”
  626.
  627. She smiled, ”Nevermind. It was just a stupid thing.”
  628.
  629. ”I'm happy with just looking at you, I mean look at you, you're like.. like the snow the desert never had.”
  630.
  631. She didn't say anything. Instead he just landed a tap on his buttock with her palm, kind of a weird move; and then she took the kitten whose name was yet to be decided and left his room with it, closing the door behind her. Sigh, he felt; Rina will definitely learn about Alizz now and Alizz didn't seem to give a flying fuck that she will – nor that Misaki will – was this one like his girlfriend now or something??? Sure looked like it but he knew next to nothing about girls, or girlfriends, or what to do with one in case you found yourself in a relationship.
  632.
  633. ..Or maybe Alizz wasn't his girlfriend yet, but something between a friend and a girlfriend.
  634.
  635. ..Friends don't steal your first kiss.
  636.
  637. On the other hand he couldn't just start feeling her up so she wasn't a full blown girlfriend either. She was sort of young, most likely; looking twelve and being born into this world with her half-vampire blood and not by having been bit by a vampire at some point in time and thus turned into a vampire unlike full vampires (or so he understood the cambion race but he had yet to read about these ones). But at least he had now seen with his own eyes that sunlight was like air to a cambion!
  638.
  639. His bed smelled of a girl.
  640.
  641. ... He thought of jacking off, but then he just decided to let his boner run its course without doing anything about it in case Sakura spies on him from behind his door using the dentist's tool again, and besides things like jacking off didn't really matter. He always forgot about it. Sometimes he remembered jacking off all the time and other times he forgot about it for weeks on end even, thanks to Sakura who had spied on him throughout the years and thus taught him to forget about jacking off, not that it mattered. The kiss just now was the best thing that had ever happened to him, sure: the obvious bee's knees when it came to existence in general, and he was more than turned on because Alizz had said a lewd line next to his burning ears, but the thought of that little brat seeing him do such an uncool thing with his fist pissed him off already beforehand and so he sat down on his bed and covered his lap with his blanket – that smelled nicely of her – and then, putting his arms on his lap and the blanket, he simply waited. And lo and behold soon enough he needed to pee, and so he did, in the bathroom, and then his boner tapered off naturally. A boner wasn't really any more than that. Just a function which Sakura had taught him to effectively forget at will. Maybe forgetting a boner was even one of his powers even though it wasn't a literal power, but he wasn't sure.
  642.
  643. And when he got downstairs, he saw Alizz Jin play with the kitten using a ball of yarn Sakura had given her while Sakura watched and grinned... Apparently Rina wasn't here in the house. Maybe Sakura had tipped Rina off and she had left, perhaps while being mad but hopefully not.
  644.
  645. Was Alizz dangerous to have around Sakura like this???? Fuck if he knew, and there was no way to ask such a thing except for the internet, but did even the net know whether cambions were always dangerous or always not dangerous? Nothing was that black and white, so maybe only time would tell. Right now Alizz didn't seem like a reasonable danger to her: Alizz seemed like a normal girl right now while she was playing with the kitten like any girl whatsoever might be doing in her place.
  646.
  647. Alizz suggested to Nosuke, ”Why don't you go jogging, or something? Or take up smoking down at a street corner. We are going to pray at the family shrine and it'd be useful if it was quiet for fifteen minutes 'round here.” He wasn't sure if she was, but if she was implying that he should be doing something he hadn't had the chance to do then she was missing the mark but he got into a pair of skate shoes anyway and went outside as per Alizz's wish, even if it meant taking a leap of faith and leaving those two alone, saying, ”Yea okay whatever,” because he couldn't come up with anything smarter to say due to being groggy and then he closed the front door behind him and was met with the morning sun and the wind of a morning in March.
  648.
  649. In Mars.
  650.
  651. In the suburbs. And indeed, this was a nice neighborhood to run in, and so he began to jog because there'd be nothing else to do for the next fifteen minutes.
  652.
  653. Here's to hoping his little sister was safe with the cambion! Hmm. But was she? What did he know about cambions and whether folks were safe with them?? 'Mean really. He had been careless. Of course the answer was nothing at all and so he decided to turn back in his tracks and so he jogged back home and peeped inside from one of the windows: but all he saw was two serene beauties kneeling in front of burning incense sticks and photos (of his parents) and the works, just like Alizz had said they would be doing, i.e. praying at the family shrine. Well what else. Maybe he should jack off now, he thought facetiously or not so facetiously, but of course he would never do such an offbeat thing... Or would he on second thought? Nobody would likely ever learn, though, the devil on his shoulder whispered...as the eyes of the two young beauties were gently shut and they couldn't possibly see him from where he was lurking in the yard right now anyway, at his most adeptly hid vantage point, because he was properly camouflaged betwixt rose bushes like horny Merlin. He brought his fingers to his zip fastener, now seriously considering it, as he had never in his life seen anything as beautiful, but on the other hand as pure either, and so he greatly hesitated while breathing hotly and being red of face and ears and everywhere; to do it or not, he hesitated. There was likely only nothingness beyond the grave so his parents ”ghosts” wouldn't be seeing him! But, then again, for all that is good and holy he decided not to.
  654.
  655. What the hell had he been thinking, again?
  656.
  657. He decided to let it be.
  658.
  659. And, so like a ninja he slinked away from his peeping position and back to the street and began to jog normally like a normal person, although red of face and breathing hotly as a dragon while he ran. And when the fifteen minutes were up, he went back inside. The two of them were groggy from having relaxed just now but on the other hand they were on a good mood, or on a normal mood or something between at least (so they hadn't noticed him).
  660.
  661. 3
  662.
  663. Mira never contacted him before school so she knew. And apparently Alizz went to school like anyone. She was a middle schooler. She went to one of the city's prestigious schools . . but guess what, she was also Astalea's protégée: Alizz and Astalea freakin' shared the same dorm room, to top it off! But Alizz had an explanation as Astalea was almost never in her dorm room.
  664.
  665. But Astalea was basically Alizz's only relative even though they weren't blood related because Alizz had nobody else in this world. Still: a small world!
  666.
  667. There might still be something to Alizz that he didn't know yet, well it was more than likely but other than her being the famous Astalea's roommate, she was of course a cambion, and he spent the school day reading about cambions now. Well cambions were just a race like any other. A blood drinking race. He had let an almost full-blown V enter his home in other words. Alizz could have killed either him or Sakura or them both already if she had wanted to but it seemed that at least so far she hadn't. Did Alizz own a steady source of blood? The articles said that cambions were bloodlusting and supernaturally strong beings who often exhibited extrasensory powers like full Vs, but that their humanity was also often more higher than that of full Vs' which might explain why they hadn't killed them yet. And yea then there was this funny thing of cambions withstanding sunlight 99.99%. Cambions still sometimes hated sunlight according to the internet but sunlight didn't kill them, or anything.
  668.
  669. But the articles also put clearly that cambions REQUIRED frequent ingestion of fresh blood in order to survive, on the other hand...and that the best blood according to Vs and cambions was and would always be fresh human blood straight from the horse's mouth, that is, from his or Sakura's or somebody else's neck. Jebus. Creepy shit.
  670.
  671. 4
  672.
  673. ...Now that they walked closer to the catgirl.
  674.
  675. At 5 p.m., at the zoo and over the Fountains (waterfall) on its bridge, with the rushing waterfall screaming and ventilating and murmuring behind the black-haired and black-eared teen beauty, Alizz did nothing less than take his hand into his so that there was no question left hanging in the purified air what the bloodsucker was to him!
  676.
  677. But the Misaki didn't seem to care about the girl whose hand he was holding as they got closer to her while walking the bridge – Misaki standing at the center of the bridge above the Fountains – but rather, Misaki seemed to be watching through us, at everything else but the two of them! As if the other people present at the zoo were more interesting than the approaching couple; them. Misaki really was uppity and high and mighty like cats were! And even when they had gotten close to his classmate and while still holding hands, because Alizz wouldn't let go, Misaki still didn't look at them, even though she was most certainly aware of them at this point, but still at everything else.
  678.
  679. ”Hi,” he said to his classmate.
  680.
  681. ”O hey,” Misaki said with a neutral and hasty expression.
  682.
  683. ”This is Alizz, my girlfriend,” he said, even though he didn't know whether Alizz was his girlfriend because they hadn't discussed the technicalities of their marital statuses yet, but he didn't wanna die either, and so he said that she was his gf just in case. Alizz seemed pleased.
  684.
  685. Alizz cast a genuinely warm smile at Misaki now that Alizz had heard the magic word, girlfriend, from his mouth, and taking her hand finally away from his and nodding at Misaki, and then offering to shake hands with Misaki while saying kindly and positively: ” So you're one of Nosuke's friends, huh? Cool! Nice to meet ya! I'm Alizz––”
  686.
  687. But Misaki didn't shake hands with Alizz: rejecting her seemingly coldly and leaving Alizz's hand hanging in the air embarrassingly! Perhaps Misaki forgot common manners there for a moment because of some stressful thought or some such that had been plaguing her; but who knows what this catgirl's personality was like.
  688.
  689. ”Hey,” Misaki said quickly and dryly to Alizz and then turned suddenly to face Nosuke next: ”I thought you would come alone... I thought you of all people would understand....”
  690.
  691. ”And why would Nosuke need ta' come alone?” Alizz said.
  692.
  693. ”Cannot see how that's any of your business,” Misaki ignored Alizz.
  694.
  695. But Alizz said to Misaki while still trying to smile: ”Oh you can't, huh? Well I just happen to be the person he sleeps with at night, so of course you can just have these secret meetings with him whenever you please just 'cause you got a greater viewpoint of things. Inside of.. your own head you do anyways.”
  696.
  697. ”Look, young miss, what I wanted to have a word in private with Arrington about is about serious things that I don't think you know or care jack squat about, so can't I just borrow him for a sec?? Promise to bring him right back.”
  698.
  699. Alizz looked at Nosuke and then she looked at Misaki again and said to Misaki, trying to smile, ”Fine. 'Course!–– We don't own each other. Just mistakenly thought you were jealous because you didn't accept my handshake so I got confused there for a sec.”
  700.
  701. ”Jealous? Of what, of Nosuke? No...” Misaki said with a thin smile. ”I was just thinking about a really serious subject matter that overwrote in my mind what you said about the sleeping habits of you lovebirds. I meant no disrespect. I am Misaki,” she said while shaking Alizz's hand this time, ”his classmate. I am not looking to fuck him.”
  702.
  703. Alizz blushed. ”I, I feel stupid now. I'm so sorry!”
  704.
  705. ”Where'd ya pull this cutie from, anyways? She's quite the looker.. unlike anyone I've seen 'n a long time. Or maybe even ever now that I laid my eyes properly on your baby.”
  706.
  707. Alizz blushed even more now. ”Pfft. Even you are way prettier than me, Misaki. But thankie if you're being sincere. I'll let you guys off the hook now, and just.. practice sightseeing. Like this. I trust that you bring him back a-sap, though, but I know that you will because you seem nice after all. So... I'll just take it easy––like this. La la lah la laa~”
  708.
  709. Misaki glanced at Nosuke and then she cleared her throat and pointed at the other end of the bridge, ”Well then, shall we?” And so him and his feline classmate walked side by side, leaving Alizz standing around stupidly behind, after a few minutes entering a natural grotto, where Alizz no long saw or heard (or maybe she would, after all; knowing what she was behind all of her fake smiles and cuteness).
  710.
  711. And while at the grotto, Misaki suddenly pouted and slapped his arm: ”Do you know who you are dating?”
  712.
  713. ”Who am I dating?”
  714.
  715. ”The daughter of the vampire king, idiot! She is nobility.”
  716.
  717. ”Shee––,” Nosuke said, as if it fuckin' mattered, thinking that on the other hand Alizz had to be loaded, but also protected, which explains the cambion girl's choice of roommate. ”Well I didn't know, because the identity of her daddy had never been brought up 'til now,” he said nonchalantly. ”And it's not like the innocent girl is literal nobility.”
  718.
  719. ”Well it sort of does mean. Her daddy, like you put it, happens to rule over every supernatural creature including me. ...Technically anyways, in spirit. But like you know I have free will. This is because the daddy of the barefooted little girl never uses his commanding power because that would be a faux pas in the supernatural circles but he does have it, which sort of makes her a big deal: to the likes of me, anyways, but it's not like you care about our world as you already have yours which is oh so legit and comfortable that it's okay to walk eyes closed till your grave ..human.”
  720.
  721. ”What on earth are you talking about, Misaki?”
  722.
  723. ”Maybe nothing to you. Unless you open your ears and listen to me for a bit. That girl there could bring great trouble into your ivory tower if someone in the supernatural ranks suddenly decides to think you have looked at her the wrong way. Somebody like her roommate.”
  724.
  725. ”Ah, so you know that our school celeb and her are roommates?”
  726.
  727. ”I know a lot of things you don't know, Nosuke. But what I know is beside the point. What I want you to know is your brain from your dick. Trillions upon trillions of us supernatural people in this universe are under her father, and she is his only child.”
  728.
  729. Nosuke shook his head with fingers on his forehead, ”Are ya telling me, Misaki, that that idiot guy has lived for frigging aeons and has only made one offspring?? And how is that possible. Do tell? Because I don't think it is. I believe and rightly so that Arthur's got a shitload of offspring. I mean the king of the vampires is over four hundred thousand years old, unless the rumors about the exact age of Arthur Del Torrex aren't true!”
  730.
  731. ”Yea, he's been around the block a few times,” Misaki blushed, ”I- I've seen his thing, it's pretty big.”
  732.
  733. ”Now what are ya talking about. What's wrong with you girls today?”
  734.
  735. ”Nothing...” Misaki smiled vaguely. ”Well Arthur's a celebrity! I might even be a fan, like so many: he is (a) polite, (b) cool, (c) handsome, and (d) righteous.”
  736.
  737. ”So Arthur is a perfect leader!” Nosuke said.
  738.
  739. Misaki smacked her lips while her words echoed in the dribbling natural grotto: ”Umm. Don't think so. Don't think he is, nor that there can be such a thing as a perfect leader to be perfectly honest with you, Nosuke. Arthur has done nothing about the recent and unfortunate attacks on people, for example.”
  740.
  741. ”The V attacks?”
  742.
  743. Misaki nodded and her black cat ears nodded with her. ”Uh-huh!”
  744.
  745. ”And is the spree of recent V attacks why you wanted to talk with me?”
  746.
  747. ”Pretty much.”
  748.
  749. ”And where do I step in? Why me? Surely you don't need me, do ya, you don't look like you do, so I might as well go back to Alizz so that she don't need to feel left out while we chat idly for nothing.”
  750.
  751. ”You call this an idle chat?? Just how uncaring can you be, Nosuke. I just told you who your little cumdumpster really is, and you call this an idle chat. Tshk! Men. Your sex really never gets anything properly. And know why?”
  752.
  753. ”Why?”
  754.
  755. ”Because you dudes never concentrate. I mean, jeez.. Hello?? She's our friggin' princess! She knew that I knew him but you are so blockheaded that we could just pretend back there that she didn't. Are you gonna stay as dumb forever or are you finally going to wake up and learn about the world you live in, Nosuke? You are already a man. Maybe even down here––”
  756.
  757. ”I knew it, I fucking knew it,” Alizz said, being surprisingly close to them now. ”Shouldn't have trusted her.”
  758.
  759. ”You guys don't got a sense of humor do you,” the catgirl said.
  760.
  761. ”I give the slut as much that she's got a point, though, Nosuke, in that at least she tried to get you think for a second about who I am. Don't tell me you've never even looked me up on the internet?”
  762.
  763. ”Gotta admit I haven't.”
  764.
  765. Misaki defended Nosuke: ”Well... At least he is not a stalker.”
  766.
  767. ”You keep your hands off from him.”
  768.
  769. ”I never touched him.”
  770.
  771. ”And you never will.”
  772.
  773. ”Why would I wanna.”
  774.
  775. ”Good, if you don't. Not that I can trust you won't. Not anymore, now!”
  776.
  777. Misaki said, ”Let's cut the crap, your highness. There is a killing spree going on in my city.. In our city. In this city. And as the vampire kill–..as his classmate I want you to keep this kid safe as well and not drag him directly into the vampires' lair with you. Can you promise me that at least this idiot will be safe?”
  778.
  779. ”Who are you calling an idiot? If you are calling my boyfriend an idiot, then I'll have you know that that kind of language is so not acceptable in this time and age..where people should know better than call other people names,” Alizz said and then she pouted, ”He is not an idiot. You are the idiot for calling him an idiot.”
  780.
  781. ”Fair enough...” Misaki said sounding bored now. ”Just promise me that you keep this gentleman safe, please. I don't want another body in my, in our city.”
  782.
  783. ”Sure! Promised! I'll be his protector!” said Alizz.
  784.
  785. ”What are you guys even on about..?” Nosuke said.
  786.
  787. Misaki said – she was hella cute even if weird – ”With her around you will be close to pretty dangerous creatures. The Vs. Of course you know what Vs are, dontcha? As a person with an online connection you must have at least once typed the word vampire into the search field, haven't ya? But why would you, your sweetheart just lives off blood but guess that's nothing to you, Nosuke. Argh. Why am I even trying.”
  788.
  789. ”I have that aspect of my private life fully sorted out, thank you very much. He will never need to see me drink blood. What more can I say or promise. I never chose to be what I am,” Alizz said.
  790.
  791. ”Of course you didn't, Alizz. No one's saying you did,” Nosuke said. And then he paused for ten seconds, and added: ”I don't care if you drink blood as long as it's not from a murdered body, and I take it isn't so why should it be my business.”
  792.
  793. ”It isn't...” Alizz promised. But you could notice that she didn't want to discuss her drinking habits with him. Maybe there were weird rites or even sex involved which would explain it.
  794.
  795. ”Why are you looking at me so?” Alizz asked him, ”I have never killed a person.”
  796.
  797. ”Was just thinking of something.”
  798.
  799. ”That whether I have?”
  800.
  801. ”Well, um, that too, but. But maybe we aren't that serious so I don't need to know.”
  802.
  803. ”Oh so someone's gettin' bored already. Have I been too easy?” the princess said, sounding rejected and like she might begin crying next.
  804.
  805. ”No, uhm,” the boy said while scratching his head, ”I just meant that we aren't married or anything so why would your drinking habits concern me. I do like you and only you...”
  806.
  807. ”Ahh,” Alizz smiled, wiping a tear, ”Thought you were leaving me for the slut because she's a groper and I'm not.”
  808.
  809. Nosuke said pacifistically: ”Can't we all just be friends with no.. no...um, I've never done anything of the sort and I don't think it's what I'm after either, I mean, I have always seen myself taking things slower, unless of course things just happen: not saying anything has to happen or that I have been expecting something to happen. Why did I even say happen. But considering how I'm pretty inexperienced I only wanted to.. ah, what am I saying. I'm losing my train of thought. I think I need to sit down...”
  810.
  811. ”She is working her juju on you,” Misaki said and then she smiled condescendingly: ”A nice protector you got there, boss.”
  812.
  813. Alizz filled her lungs with air and said with a hurt voice: ”Just wanted to know whether you and him are fucking behind my back. But..since it turned out that you aren't, I will from now on never use my skills on him again! Promise! No more bullying. I.. I'm sorry. I swear by Cain that that was the last time I do such a thing.”
  814.
  815. And Alizz having said that, Nosuke saw suddenly black and then......
  816.
  817. ….....He found himself opening his eyes at the grotto with his head in Alizz's lap while Misaki was trying to look elsewhere and Alizz was stroking his hair while smiling sweetly.
  818.
  819. ”Where am I? What happened? Did we meet her? No wait... now I remember. You are Arthur's daughter. And oh, there she is... You did that mental thing again.”
  820.
  821. ”I am sorry. I was mad jealous. But she fucking touched your dick. First she talked to you about dicks and then she touched yours: as if I'm the only one in the wrong here, as if I'm the only one who does mental magic of us two. I'll stop being an asshole from now on, though. Come: I'll show you my room in Daddy's castle. You'll then see that I'm not all bad... That I also do good. If I really try,” Alizz said, and her voice was strangely soothing just now. Strangely regal. It was almost like just now it hadn't been Alizz who had been talking but the angel he had seen in the morning.
  822.
  823.
  824.
  825.
  826. – FOUR –
  827.
  828. 1
  829.
  830. And while Alizz and Nosuke spent the night in Alice's room – with nothing happening between them – which was on the other hand a bit boring, but those two were boring people so it was expected of them that nothing would ever happen, Misaki spent the same night patrolling the metropolis of Grand Yorke. But Misaki would know if something had happened between them thanks to her little birds – well a drone really: the stupid bitch didn't realize that she had been watching the lovebirds' every move from the beginning of their little liaison. Why? Because Nosuke was her classmate and she was the vampire hunter and she didn't want her classmate's blood on her hands! There was no other reason. But there was this one recording from the castle's hallway where she had seen her Dad's cock for seven seconds while Arthur had been walking in his burgundy bathrobe, and thus the story about Misaki having seen it had therefore been, in fact, completely and totally true! And it was pretty darn big. Like a child's arm. And Arthur wasn't an eyesore otherwise either. Heck, she might just like her ruler a little – as a fan. He was outta her league, yeah, but as a fan she didn't mind the green-haired hunk who happened to own more dollars than there were raindrops during a rain which deffo didn't make her heartache (or the pain between her legs) any less. Who the heck gets blessed with everything in life, anyways!? What a stupid guy Arthur the king was!
  831.
  832. And then there was this Nosuke guy. He just randomly dates the princess. Who the heck dates the princess. Well Nosuke did apparently. Misaki was just a commoner and would never date the king but Nosuke was dating his daughter, and how realistic was that, anyways??? She was motherfucking billionaire. Misaki at least would be just flat out lying if she claimed that money didn't matter in this world. Nuh uhh, on the contrary, money was everything. And now Nosuke had everything apparently, or maybe he had always had in some weird way everything: in the form of some stupid magnetism that helped her pull off dating her highness when pretty much every guy in existence would swap places with the guy in a tenth of a nanosecond! Because, you know, they keep saying that Alizz was the most beautiful person ever and besides she was very noble with the purest imaginable heart and a sweet soul. She was just..a really nice girlfriend if you had to date one.
  833.
  834. But nobody was perfect, though, heh heh heh!
  835.
  836. The princess was a mudblood. I.e. not really enough vampire in order to be a vampire and not really human enough to be a, well ya guessed it, human. Like Nosuke was a human. And she was flat while Misaki really wasn't, not even close, and so at least Misaki could make boys cum with her tits alone and grant them that particular sensation which boys like too. In theory she could do the deed with her tits to boys. Boys like Nosuke was a boy!
  837.
  838. ….But tonight according to her drone's feed, Nosuke was normally in his own bed and Alizz in her bed. It was Saturday night (tomorrow being Sunday) and it was 2:44 a.m. and Nosuke and Alizz were both asleep...
  839.
  840.
  841. She would spend this chilly but busy March night keepin' a watchful eye on the city roofs like always. Or else, if she didn't, there'd be bodies lying tomorrow just about everywhere in Grand Yorke. So she was a busy bee! And horny!!! But, alas, there was no cute guy in her life. Us catgirls were horny pretty much twenty-four seven but all she could do was to bite her lip because no one ever had the guts to ask her out. By the way, Alizz at least fingered herself in her princess bed every once in a while but Nosuke never really jerked off which made him the weirdest guy ever in Misaki's book, even now, as she was looking at her screen, he just saw Nosuke being asleep like said; on a Saturday night!!! Why wasn't Nosuke watching porn like so many other boys on this hour? Beats her as to why!!!!!!
  842.
  843. 2
  844.
  845. A catgirl's silhouette leaped from a roof onto the next against the dark night, her panties being striped with black stripes, when a cry was heard somewhere down below that Misaki recognized in her school uniform with her more sharper than normal senses.
  846.
  847. And at the children's hospital of all places!
  848.
  849. These a-holes had no shame, I tell you.
  850.
  851. Via incredible parkour she landed from one rooftop onto the next and then onto the next until she was descending the wet and slippery fire escape ladder of the kids's hospital, and finding a suitable window, she smashed the window in with the butt of her katana sheath and into the hospital she then hurled herself with an acrobatic jump while dodging all of the shards of glass as she jumped that was both masterful and graceful; like that of a cat!
  852.
  853. ”Ha!” she cried out as she descended masterfully onto the hallway's window end, whose window that was now broken was dark from the night hour, with shards of glass lying around and a big draft due to the broken window that made the window hole whine and scream into the night as the wind tried to suck her back out, but instead she stormed onwards and deeper inside of the kids' hospital and towards the direction where she had located the screams of help and the all-too familiar scent of a V, flying down a couple staircases, smelling a candy bar in an empty room and snatching it from the empty room by swiftly breaking the empty room's door and then skillfully kicking in another closed door in her way – this taking only laughably little time all in all – breaking the lock and the door – but a life was more important than a window or a couple stupid doors, she felt, and so she kept on and found her way into the correct hallway, and finally she found the room where the screams had come from:
  854.
  855. '030 Emergency Room. No access to outsiders.'
  856.
  857. Yeah-no, she thought, and bashed the door in with her martial arts with the same ease a normal person would put their fist through an A4 paper.
  858.
  859. She now saw with her bare eyes how one of the assholes, a vampire, slowly approached a hospital bed – with a sick child lying petrified in it while not understanding what's going on. Yep: she was pissed off.
  860.
  861. ”And just what in the name of Mother Mary are you doing in his room, you twat?” she asked the V.
  862.
  863. ”What do ya want? Looks like I'm gonna have a feast tonight. First I'll drink his blood and then I'll rape your fucking asshole.”
  864.
  865. ”Big words. But are you a big guy behind those words?” Misaki said, and taking her katana faster from its sheath than a bullet she chopped the V's genitals right off its body on the next moment during which you didn't actually see her katana move much at all and so that you were now watching a bloody and red compact disk-shaped crater where his genitals had been a nanosecond before under his pants! And before the kid would have time to see what had just happened she span around and cut the V's head off so that the kid really only managed to see two extremely fast wooshes of light that her blade reflected from the outside and then an explosion of dust!! And so that the kid didn't really see the scary sword she was handling she put her katana back in its sheath as the third move of the one fell swoop of the all of it, all of that having easily taken less than a second. Well an average V was an easy peasy to kill of course. They had no realistic chance of fighting back and surviving to tell the tale against the likes of her, really, her dexterity being beyond that of an untrained vampire's.
  866.
  867. She apologized to the kid and leaving the candy bar on his nightstand she left the way she had come, leaving the hospital. She heard the kid say ”wow!” as she left his room. And after which she said sorry to her master in her mind right now after what she had just done, getting needlessly angry like that in the presence of a young kid. Sometimes bouts like that happened when she was on a particularly bad mood or a V had offended her especially negatively like just now. She was.. she wasn't perfect. She admitted readily that she wasn't. She was a violent personality. But then again so were the Vs and she was the necessarily balancer in the black night when there was no one else.
  868.
  869. She hopped skillfully onto a rooftop and sat down to meditate. She hadn't even broke a sweat yet. ...Was she a superhero? Not really, to be honest with you at least morally she ain't. She was too much of an asshole to be a superhero. Of course, equally the world was too much of an asshole in order to produce unambiguous heros. ..So... It was a matter of perspective. She did things like non-stop spying on her so called friends, which was (even though it was so damn embarassing to admit) unfortunately true. And like just now she would sometimes lost her marbles a lil' bit while controlling the numbers of these V scumbags in her city. Anyway, she spent five minutes meditating under the stars and the artificial moon and the nightclouds of Mars, this home planet of hers being basically a second Earth nowadays, the year being very, very far away from the era the Earth had still had life on it. ...But something happened and Earth was no more.....
  870.
  871. If only the Vs would have stayed on Earth but no, they just had to tag along with the rest of the races. There was this merman who was a great martial artist, her master. And even though she won't go meet him now, because there was no need for her to meet her master today, her master was the only man she really respected totally and completely knowing that even though every other heart must be corrupted even by just a littlest tiniest bit, she knew that her master was not corrupted but NORMAL. Why was it so darned difficult for Vs to act normal as well??? Or, well you could say, for her as well as Misaki wasn't of course normal in the least, and thus she still had a helluva lot to learn according to her master.
  872.
  873. Maybe she didn't even fully understand the surrounding world yet. Why were some men evil. Why was there evil? And was it possible to eradicate evil by eradicating evil men? On paper it'd at least make sense if it was possible . . . But she was just one person. And this was a big town. So she can't possibly be everywhere all the time. Even now, while meditating, she sensed trouble. ..She sighed and got up. ...Nosuke?
  874.
  875. 3
  876.
  877.
  878. Wrait Sora was a good-looking teenage vampire boy. No doubt he was. And also one of Misaki's most dangerous enemies. He had the hair the color of the moon and dangerously hypnotizing blue eyes. He was mild-mannered and polite but could on the other hand be a complete psychopath when he chose to.
  879.
  880. Yeah.
  881.
  882. Wrait was a cutie.
  883.
  884. But he was also someone who always meant a long fight because he was an equal talent. But what the heck was Wrait doing at Nosuke's? Whatever his reason may be there the kid was, anyways, spying on the orphan duo's house – being thankfully uninvited so that there was no way between heaven and earth he could enter their house, though.
  885.
  886. ”Yo, Wrait,” she said to her old friend.
  887.
  888. ”Misaki?” Wrait said with a cigarette.
  889.
  890. ”You broke my drone, kid.”
  891.
  892. ”I didn't like it.”
  893.
  894. ”Those things ain't free.”
  895.
  896. ”Buy a new one.”
  897.
  898. ”Watcha doing here, though? Don't you got anywhere better to go than the princesses' boyfriend's?”
  899.
  900. ”Just wondering.”
  901.
  902. ”'Bout what?”
  903.
  904. ”What kinda dude he is.”
  905.
  906. ”He is normal. ..Not like us, so will ya just leave.”
  907.
  908. Wrait walked up to her relaxedly while smoking his cig, as if to an old friend or associate, with no hatred behind his steps; no old qualms behind them as he got closer to her. But this kid was not to be underestimated; he still had his sword. And this neighborhood was way too weak for them as background should he draw that sword..
  909.
  910. And after walking to her Wrait sat down on a curb and she sat down next to him while keeping an eye on his hands.
  911.
  912. ”So, what have ya been doing these days? Haven't seen you around much.”
  913.
  914. ”You know what I've been doing, Wrait.”
  915.
  916. Wrait massaged the back of his neck with his hand while his burning cigarette drooped between his lips as a red light in the night, ”Yea, but other than doing away with my kind, I mean?”
  917.
  918. ”Nothing much. School. Whattabout you, my friend? Found peace yet?”
  919.
  920. ”Heh... I don't know. Do I look like I ain't, then?”
  921.
  922. ”You do as long as you hang at other people's property like a common thief.”
  923.
  924. ”Maybe I am not meant for peace,” he smoked.
  925.
  926. ”Been practicing a lot?”
  927.
  928. ”As always,” Wrait claimed. But vampires were notorious liars so this guy might've just as well been lazy for the past few years. They hadn't met since three years, or so. Back then she was full of energy whereas now she was just a few more years short of being a boring adult.
  929.
  930. ”Think you could take me on?” Misaki asked.
  931.
  932. Wrait took a drag, and exhaled, and then he smiled. ”Yep.”
  933.
  934. ”Not here. Not now,” the vampire hunter said.
  935.
  936. ”Suit yourself,” and then he massaged the back of his neck again and said, ”Lemme know when you've picked the time and place.”
  937.
  938. A car in the night rolled past them. This was a quiet suburban neighborhood and not the precise neighborhood she would want to pick as the arena for their fight. But if that guy starts something then there would be no choice. He was perhaps the best there was. But so was she. And there were some others as well, even better ones arguably, like her master. Her master could take on them both at once and still wipe the floor with them. But her master was someone who could split a mountain with his fist. It was a technique. The Mountain Split. She didn't possess the Mountain Split...the bones of her body weren't prepared for such an advanced technique....but knowing that her master did, she would never confront her master seriously because even one hit from him would be the end of her. Unless, of course, she managed to dodge them all! But she wasn't that good either, not nearly. Her dodges were only average. She was till better than untrained Vs', though!
  939.
  940. Dunno about this guy here, though. He might very well have been improved since they last fought. But now was not the time and place. Mindless violence solved nothing and Wrait had done nothing serious in order to incite such violence on her part. Took down her drone? Yeah. But she had used that drone selfishly to spy on her sleeping friend and maybe he hadn't respected her use of it. There typically was a method to Wrait's madness, after all.
  941.
  942. Wrait put out his cig with his shoe, ”You know, I don't wanna fight you.”
  943.
  944. ”Ditto.”
  945.
  946. ”Can you teach me Phoenix Rising?”
  947.
  948. ”No.”
  949.
  950. ”Figures,” he said, and then he looked at her, his blue eyes glimmering in the streetlight, ”There is somewhere I must be. Wanna come with me? I will show you something if we go together.”
  951.
  952. ”Go where, Wrait?”
  953.
  954. He pointed downwards.
  955.
  956. ”The sewers?”
  957.
  958. He shook his head. ”Even more down.”
  959.
  960. ”The mines?” The mines was were Wrait lived. It was the underworld; the place were most vampires lived.
  961.
  962. He nodded. ”Been a while since we've spent the day together. There I can be with you even when the sun is up, and there is also this thing I wanted to show you: something I've been working on.”
  963.
  964. Wrait didn't actually die from sunlight due to his training. But Wrait didn't like sunlight either; his eyes being sensitive to sunlight.
  965.
  966. ”Sure,” Misaki nodded, ”Ready when you are.” Maybe one of them will not come back. But Wrait was always an interesting kid, and maybe whatever he had in mind was actually useful. Maybe it was a fighting technique. Well that could be useful..some of them were.
  967.
  968. ”I am not going to fight you, Misaki. You can stop reading my every movement. But let's go! Got bored of the surface anyway.”
  969.
  970. The two of them got up and walking close to each other while keeping an eye on each others' hands they went by his car to a black entrance leading to the ”mines” at an unspecified location, and entering the place they were met with an underworld full of electric lights, his world. Wrait lived here with people like him; the Vs.
  971.
  972. ”You know: you are brave I got to admit, Misaki,” Wrait said to her as they walked side by side and tensed from head to toe in the underworld of Grand Yorke, while walking towards Wrait's home and sightseeing on their way to there. ”Most would not come here: especially not after what you've done to so many of my kin.”
  973.
  974. ”Most are not friends with her highness unlike me,” Misaki said to Wrait as they walked.
  975.
  976. ”What is her highness like, by the way?”
  977.
  978. ”Pretty nice. Not sure if it's an act or whether she really is, but she seems like an okay person.”
  979.
  980. ”What's the guy like?”
  981.
  982. ”Do you must ask me now? Reminding me about my drone like that.”
  983.
  984. ”Oops. Well, dropping the thing drew your attention successfully.”
  985.
  986. ”Why am I here, Wrait? Will I die?”
  987.
  988. ”Not on my watch,” Wrait said.
  989.
  990. ”There's just the two of us against tens of thousands, and you know that.”
  991.
  992. ”Maybe: but these people aren't nearly as organized as you might think. If a fight broke loose most of 'em would run away in terror, causing chaos, being in the way. We could still maybe make it out.”
  993.
  994. ”Maybe.”
  995.
  996. ”Are you at least liking what you are seeing? Look, they are having oral.”
  997.
  998. ”Yes I have eyes,” Misaki said.
  999.
1000. ”It's just that, what I wanted to say is, even though this culture down here isn't always as clean as yours up there, we are people too.”
  1001.
1002. ”You say 'this culture,' but it's really 'your culture.' You are from here too, Wrait. You are sortova bad boy in my book.”
  1003.
1004. ”And you have snuffed countless of us so you're not much betta' either.”
  1005.
1006. ”Look who's talking: I know that you like hunting down your pray in the surface world more than anything else.”
  1007.
1008. ”It's how the universe made me. What the hell am I supposed to do if not be what I am? Seize being by fighting you? No thanks, not yet at least. I still got that something I wanted to show ya before I'm ready to leave this life.”
  1009.
1010. ”Stop being so depressing, Wrait. No one is killing anyone unless you or someone out of these people initiate it.”
  1011.
1012. ”These people aren't murderers, ya know. They wouldn't just attack us for no reason: they could die as well which would then end them! Just think about it. These people experience life – or a dark version of it – from the twisted point of view of their own minds and they, too, wanna live. So I doubt they wanna try us. ––But here we are. This is were I bunk nowadays. After you.”
  1013.
1014. She walked into his apartment, which could've meant walking into a trap, but apparently her old acquaintance wasn't going to try killing her at least yet since he let her walk into his apartment without attacking her. At least yet.
  1015.
1016. ”What is it that you wanted to show me? I've got an explosive that'll kill both of us whenever I want,” Misaki said.
  1017.
1018. ”No need to use it–– I don't wanna die, Misaki. So just relax. I just wanted to show you this,” the vampire boy said and then he handed her a pile of papers, ”My magnum opus. It's got every martial art I know.”
  1019.
1020. ”Wow... Are you hitting on me because that ordinary book of your's is totally a retarded excuse to invite me over, Wrait.”
  1021.
1022. ”No,” the vampire chuckled. ”Well yes. What am I supposed to say, I got no one else to spend the night with. And besides you are the coolest person I know. Suicidal for coming here? Totes. But also somebody who knows Phoenix Rising.”
  1023.
  1024. ”So here we are.”
  1025.
1026. ”Here we are! Sorry if I disappointed you,” he said, while stroking one her ears.
  1027.
1028. They kissed. Next morning, they woke up naked in his bed, and they had sex again. And after it Wrait said to him while they lied in his bed:
  1029.
  1030. ”You're nice.”
  1031.
  1032. 4
  1033.
1034. Well Wrait was nice too: nice enough to walk her back home after that suicide mission to his home. It was a world under the city where most of the vampires lived. But the vampire king lived on the surface, in his castle, always carefully planning his day according to the sun's rising and setting, although the king was practically immune to the sun, practically, but the vampire king (and Wrait) not getting damage from the sun still demanded focus, which must be super stressful as one might imagine!
  1035.
  1036.
  1037.
  1038. – FIVE –
  1039.
  1040. 1
  1041.
1042. Wrait and Astalea weren't that good buddies.
  1043.
1044. Astalea had once kicked Wrait while they had been training so hard in the nuts that Wrait had seen several universes of sheer pain at once, and that had been nothing to Astalea who was simply an a-hole with no redeeming qualities whenever she sparred. But Astalea was so good that Wrait couldn't even connect with his attacks after the kick even though she had pissed him rightly off after that one.
  1045.
1046. But here the two of them were at the same time in Astalea's dorm as her guests in the dead of night.
  1047.
  1048. Why?
  1049.
1050. Well, because, Astalea was Misaki's best friend. And Wrait was... Wrait was somebody who just was there right now. Not really Misaki's bf. Nor boyfriend material. He was a vampire for chrissakes and her sworn enemy since birth! But also pretty cute and she liked him even though common sense said that it's a liking that shouldn't be.
  1051.
1052. Astalea was a maid of darkness who had always fought, fighting was all she knew, and that's how most people would describe the king's bodyguard. She was a cambion. Half vampire half human. So like the princess, and very powerful, not politics-wise but strength-wise anywho.
  1053.
1054. Why were some Vs so powerful while others weren't? Why was Bruce Lee so good while other humans weren't? Simply because the three of them had always trained hard coupled with their supernatural genetics and lineages passed down to them from their masters, the lineages themselves having certain secret occult power to them. They weren't as good as their masters of course since they were, other than Wrait, just high schoolers but still.
  1055.
1056. Was Wrait here right now just in order to learn Phoenix Rising eventually off of her? Could be, but maybe and hopefully the serious kid was also having fun while trying to extract the teaching from her. ...Hih. <3
  1057.
1058. Phoenix Rising was a sword technique passed down to her from her master. It was exceedingly difficult to master but nothing a talent like Wrait wouldn't learn and eventually master should she pass it down to him: there was an occult aspect to their martial arts schools though which was another story. This wasn't normal martial arts. There was an inner side to the Mountain Split, its inner side being basically almost all of it obviously. But of course. Did Wrait got a big dick, by the way, then? It was six inches: more than enough. She liked him. Wrait would not grow any older so he would always be a six-incher, heh. She was a little tipsy from wine and thinking about him as they had been sipping on wine and discussing martial arts..
  1059.
1060. Although Astalea wouldn't share her secrets with anyone even if they tried!
  1061.
1062. What about sunlight? Was Wrait at a disadvantage because of sunlight being destructive in his case? Yep: but just sunlight wasn't enough to kill this guy (nor the king who didn't even get an itch from sunlight) although he would be pissed off and weakened but Wrait could still be in sunlight if Wrait had to because of the strength of his being. Many vampires were immune to sunlight. But Wrait would be difficult to beat otherwise as well, like she very well knew. His body was so strong that he could deflect her normal sword hits if he had to and vice versa. But Wrait had promised not to get violent with her.
  1063.
  1064.
1065. ..Blonde Astalea poured herself, him and her new glasses of red wine in candlelight: ”So... Tell me again, what brought you two together all of a sudden?”
  1066.
  1067. Wrait claimed: ”A coincidence.”
  1068.
1069. She said: ”Saw him wandering outside and felt like saying hi. Never did I realize that we would end up not fighting but drinking wine together! Is Alizz gonna come here, do ya think?”
  1070.
1071. Astalea shrugged, ”Who knows! ...She just might. I take it he wants to meet her highness?”
  1072.
1073. Wrait beamed: ”More than anything! Her highness has got a nice scent.”
  1074.
1075. And after serving them wine Astalea sat down to drink with them, ”Miss Alizz is hard to obtain for even a second. One day I will tie her up and then we can all take turns just tickling the puppy.”
  1076.
1077. Wrait sipped wine, ”She is very wanted these days: everybody wants a piece of her. But that guy makes me wonder: he actually gets to fuck our fucking princess.”
  1078.
1079. Misaki said jealously, ”Have you ever tried hitting on Alizz? You might just surprise yourself and succeed as well!”
  1080.
1081. Wrait said, ”Seriously speaking nevermind. I'm not interested in her, I'm interested in Misaki.”
  1082.
1083. Misaki said, ”How sweet. And no girl would be happier in existence than me if what you said was even partly true, but knowning you, Wrait, I just don't know if I can be entirely convinced you aren't just into my Phoenix Rising instead of my...whatever you may you find interesting in me.”
  1084.
1085. ”Instead of your what? I find your three holes interesting.”
  1086.
1087. ”Spoken like a true vampire: so romantic,” the maid of darkness smiled.
  1088.
1089. Well-- her friend was right in that vampires were crude sometimes, if not most of the times. And vampire boys were a bitova bad boys. But catgirls weren't much different when it came to carnalisms since catgirls were notoriously about sex anyways and she kind of liked what Wrait had just said. If only it was true that he liked her! But this guy was a top fighter and all about the martial arts, and always martial arts, and he had mentioned that stupid sword technique to her and it was thus obviously on his mind. She would marry him in a heartbeat but maybe that would never happen. ..Because she was a mortal, and mortals aged. But she didn't want to think that about him and her right now. Mortals aging was just this rather pretty fucking obvious elephant in the room so they'd never have a serious long-lasting relationship together unless she decided to stop the aging process with her martial arts (hard way), or by turning into a vampire (easy way) which was wistful to think but she wasn't convinced she was going to live forever. A vampire was cursed with darkness that made their mind dark – like Golum. And so the price for a vampire's 'eternal' youth was too much. And a lot of the Vs just wanted to die already. They even had a concept in the vampire world known as suicide by the vampire hunter because some of the Vs really were that bored or existentially exhausted!
  1090.
  1091.
  1092.
1093. Wrait said: ”Look, Misaki, I'll help you clean the town from that little problem your class rep has been whining about. Those types are criminals anyway, and outcasts acting against the rules of our society and it's the least I can do. Because you're not... that bad. This isn't about the Phoenix Rising.”
  1094.
1095. ”Sure, sure. 'Course it ain't. But thanks. Can't wait to work with you.”
  1096.
  1097.
  1098.
1099. She sipped wine. These two martial artists were interesting people. Was she better than them? To be honest there was no way to know other than finding out in practice which wasn't today: but Astalea probably was the best one out of them three. Probably. The king had passed down so many lineages onto Astalea that she was a deity. Like, a cambion could slow down and even stop aging if she wanted; and Astalea would stay her age most likely: but only if she wanted to. Astalea was still a vampire just like Astalea was a mortal, and a lot of things could be accomplished with these martial art lineages they possessed in their beings. But it was all so complicated, life and whatnot, that it was best to just sip wine and let Wrait make her next move. (Hopefully it will be on top of her later today.)
