  1. The Morakhin started out as a race of humanoids who began life in the North-East ridge of Egama. They were initially known as Arbakhin. They were adapted to cold weather environments and would live on ice drifts that flowed with the ocean currents to take them to new regions and cycle out their resources over the course of the year. The population was initially sparse, and typically tribes would consist of one or two families.

  3. A few times a year, these ice flows would stop at a number of islands, where the Arbakhin would get off and resupply from caches. When multiple tribes were on these islands, they would engage in trade and trade family members for marriage. Eunuch guards would remain behind to guard the caches, either of their own accord or as punishment for not fitting in with their tribes and families.

  5. Arbakhin would mostly eat fish out on the ocean. They would dive deep for seaweed and other plants on the seafloor, where they would also harvest molluscs and crustaceans. The Arbakhin shamans would give the divers spells of waterbreathing and pressure resistance for the deepest dives, but most Arbakhin were capable of deep dives and staying underwater for extended periods anyway. Some Arbakhin were even born with gills, though reasons why are disputed.

  7. The Arbakhin's early forms of religion were animism, believing in spirits that lived and possessed physical objects. The Arbakhin life mostly focused around the ephemeral presence of ice, which could melt or refreeze depending on where they were. Most of their tools were based on stone, shells, and skeletons of undersea creatures they caught. Capturing a whale was the greatest boon for any tribe, as the skeleton itself was the source of many materials they could make objects from. The whale was seen as the great provider for the Arbakhin. Sharks were the great enemy for their deep-divers, being swift and vicious when they hungered, but their teeth and skin could be harvested at the very least.

  9. As time passed, a greater enemy appeared for the Arbakhin. In the depths of the ocean there lived a great and terrible being
