  1. For the past two years, a project named “Project Let’s Change (PLC) – Cleanliness Monitor” has been implemented in many schools across the state.
  2. This project originated from the concept of Rohit Aarrya. The state government adopted and promoted the project, assuring Rohit Aarrya that the entire project expenditure would be borne by the government.
  3. Based on this assurance, Aarrya personally spent lakhs of rupees on the project. However, when it came time for the government to release the promised funds, officials in the education department backed out, according to Aarrya’s allegations.
  4. As a result, he is now facing severe financial difficulties.
  5. Furthermore, in the 2024–25 implementation of the Cleanliness Monitor project, Aarrya has been excluded by the government. The government has taken over his private project and begun executing it without his involvement.
  6. Aarrya has also accused the authorities of favoritism, claiming that some schools are being unfairly awarded higher marks due to vested interests.
  7. To seek justice, Aarrya has undertaken multiple hunger strikes in the past and has made serious allegations against high-ranking education officials.
  8. He stated that after one such hunger strike, the Education Minister personally returned a portion of the money owed to him.
  9. However, to recover the remaining large amount and to have his other demands fulfilled, Aarrya has once again begun an indefinite hunger strike without food or water from October 4.
  10. He has declared that he will continue the strike until all his demands are met and the full amount is returned.
