  2. 8:53 PM The rain streamed down the roof of the cafe and down into the street, flowing into a nearby storm sewer.
  3. 8:54 PM In the distance, lightning flashed briefly, with the sound of thunder following shortly after.
  4. 8:54 PM Sighing, Kara took a sip of her coffee. Arrington's was the best for days like this.
  5. 8:56 PM Ever since she escaped that damn truck, she hadn't had a place to call home.
  6. 8:57 PM Miller's Creek was probably the... 20th chance she'd had?
  7. 8:58 PM It was quite close to where she escaped after her trigger, though at the time it was suffering from political and economic upheaval from a local villain group being usurped.||

  10. 9:04 PM M<Mari|Chantico> Kara put down her coffee, and moved her right index finger around the knuckles of her other hand loosely, feeling them underneath her skin. Dimly, as her arm brushed the table, she was aware of everyone else in the small, cozy, coffee shop. Raising her head, and making a cursory check of the room, she took a quick look at the other patrons she had perceived.

  13. 9:06 PM The other patrons were calmly eating, seemingly unaffected by the storm outside.

  18. 9:12 PM Kara put on a quick smile. "Sure, I don't mind company." She did, but that was besides the point. As much as she loathed to share her time in the one spot she had found in this town to relax, until she was established, she couldn't turn away anyone out of hand. "Take a seat. My names Kara. What's yours?" She took a look at the man, sizing him up.

  27. 9:19 PM Upon closer inspection, he was actually around Kara's age.

  40. 9:38 PM "Well I'm new in town, and this is the one nice spot I've found. It's not exactly the nicest outside," She gestured to the window. "So I came here as a refuge from the weather, and for a bite to eat."

  48. <Mari|Chantico> ...
  49. 6:27 PM Kara puts her coffee down. She doesn't like the idea of a tinker preparing her food... she's never heard of a cape who didn't hurt people in some capacity. She picked it back up after a moment of contemplation, though. Where else was she going to get something to eat this good?
  50. 6:28 PM "I didn't know that. I'd guessed this was the best place in town, but not from experience. This was just the first place I stumbled into, and it's REALLY good."
