+onee __ As you put it yourself: "a bit of the original". And as I put it: "for the purposes of commentary and criticism". Had I disabled comments, not set up what the clip was about, removed a link to the source, and monetised the video - _you might be onto something._

Had I included more of the footage than was absolutely necessary, _you might be onto something._

But I get it - you're accustomed to YouTubers who take an excerpt (though sometimes it's an entire video) and then talk and talk about it as they incessantly pause their way through it. As though they are overly paranoid about making sure their usage is actually "fair use".

Given that the purpose of this excerpt was for commentary and discussion - and given the actual comments and discussion - in my opinion I have achieved that stated goal. In my opinion, if the entity owning the rights to the full video were to file a complaint that this violates "fair use", then it would make Jon Stewart look a lot like Harvey Weinstein would if he sought to remove audio of him asking that unfortunate woman to watch him take a shower.

Perhaps that's the look you want Jon Stewart to go for? Yes, in my opinion it is, but you just don't know it.

Whether you like what's happened or not - I have faithfully reproduced Jon Stewart's reply to a controversial question that he was asked in 2016.

Unless Jon Stewart has since changed his answer, then I have done him a service by reproducing it in full without *needlessly* pausing through it to point out potentially irrelevant things (which would only make Mr Stewart seem more like he was lying) just to make my use seem _more_ like "fair use" so it can be monetised when it's _already_ fair use and the clip will _never_ be monetised.
