  1. [18:56] Amori says, "Hello."
  2. [18:56] Gajin says, "Ain't seen you in a long time."
  3. [18:57] Amori says, "Mhm."
  4. [19:00] With a shift he'd walk away from the wall. Now covered in intricate runes. As well as abstract designs and plans. Ranging from drawings of weapons with notations on materials to what looked like a humanoid jam-packed with writing around it.
  5.
  6. Leaning against the cell he'd look over at Amori. Tilting his head curiously as he took the man in. "So, you messed up big time on your alliances. Which make's me curious... Why did you execute Orodyn?" It was after all a chance to hear from the horses mouth what happened. Deception was possible but the Drakanite was curious none the less.
  7. (Gajin)
  8. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  9.
  10. [19:01] "Sounds like you've been told lies. That's not.. what at all happened," the Archmagi said.
  11.
  12. Tilting his head ever so slightly, he appraises Gajin. Thinking to himself, he wonders what lies surfaced.
  13.
  14. "Are you an artificer?" a gesture to the wall is made.
  15. (Amori)
  16. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  17.
  18. [19:06] "I've been told many things from many people." His attention shifted back towards the wall and he gave a chuckle wave towards it.
  19.
  20. "Before you are the plans for wonders untold. Weapons forged of Tarian steel that will burn as if freshly forged. The basic syntax of runescribing and even a few practices of the Draconic style of runesmithing." As he spoke he'd push off and walk over towards the humanoid figure and tap his finger upon it.
  21.
  22. "And the proof that it is the Therians that are the greatest artificers of the world." He sneered as he turned back and looked at Amori. "Not some damnable Achyonites playing with clocks." Glancing back at the abstract and crudely written designs he'd walk back to the cell.
  23.
  24. "Pleased with your answer Archmagi?"
  25. (Gajin)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [19:08] A nod follows.
  29.
  30. "A shame you had to get caught up in this conflict with such grandiose plans. Isn't it?"
  31. (Amori)
  32. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  33.
  34. [19:10] Gajin chuckled offering nothing but a shrug.
  35.
  36. "No, not a shame it is only through the flames of war that one can reach their full potential. Make no mistake I am just as much a warrior of Garljing as anyone else." He gave a soft pause. "If smarter than most of the rest."
  37. (Gajin)
  38. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. [19:13] Amori says, "Respectable."
  41. [19:13] Amori says, "I've gotten somewhat tired with explaining the situation again."
  42. [19:13] Amori asks, "What did you hear?"
  43. [19:15] Gajin says, "The messenger when it happened said that the gala was a ruse to entrap our Dragonlords and slay them. Heard a few other variations but that's the prevaling one within the Fireblooded."
  44. [19:16] Amori asks, "Who said that?"
  45. [19:16] Amori says, "That's the biggest lie I've heard."
  46. [19:16] Gajin raised a brow as he looked at the Radiant.
  47. (Gajin)
  48. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  49.
  50. [19:16] Gajin says, "Perhaps but lies have a way of becoming ingrained when anger and hate is involved."
  51. [19:17] Gajin says, "Orodyn's swift and... Silent execution certainly gave that lie traction."
  52. [19:18] Clasping a chin, the Archmagi shakes his head.
  53.
  54. "Maybe. I think, it's more.. people like to believe they're always in the right. On the good side. Would you not agree?"
  55. (Amori)
  56. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  57.
  58. [19:22] Gajin says, "Wisedom spoken and heard."
  59. [19:22] Gajin says, "Wisedome... Wisdom. You get the point. Yea, I agree with you on it. "
  60. [19:22] Amori says, "That's alright."
  61. [19:23] Amori asks, "I have some time, what do you want clarified?"
  62. [19:23] Gajin asks, "Well, lets start with the big one. Are you a Dragonslayer?"
  63. [19:26] Amori says, "No."
  64. [19:26] Amori says, "Nobody in Esshar has even seen dragons in years."
  65. [19:28] Gajin says, "Well... Maybe not you lowlanders. We of the Tarian have seen our Dragons aplenty and take threats to them seriously. That is why you don't see that rag-tag group of 'Dragon Slayers' running around anymore."
  66. [19:28] Gajin says, "Alright, what caused the fight at the Gala? Surely something had to have sparked all this."
  67. [19:34] {Item} You drop Large Bow.
  68. [19:35] {Item} You picked up Large Bow. Dropped by Gajin..
  69. [19:41] Amori says, "Ah."
  70. [19:41] Amori asks, "Do you know about the Astor house?"
  71. [19:42] Gajin says, "Yes."
  72. [19:42] Gajin says, "It was one of their traitors that I got the idea for my golem."
  73. [19:42] Amori says, "Orodyn was insulted by the Astor name, assaulted a recently arrived Astor boy, then demanded if the nobility was not revoked, he would break the current peace."
  74. [19:43] Amori says, "We naturally said no, he denied an honor duel that Varceal recommended and lashed out for my throat."
  75. [19:44] Gajin says, "..."
  76. [19:44] Gajin looked at Amori in disbelief.
  77. (Gajin)
  78. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  79.
  80. [19:45] Gajin says, "You're joking."
  81. [19:47] Amori says, "No."
  82. [19:47] Amori says, "Everyone knows it's stupid."
  83. [19:48] Gajin asks, "That's a few steps beyond stupid. Why didn't you declare the events publically? BEFORE executing the Dragonlord?"
  84. [19:49] Gajin says, "Actually why did you let Dragonlord Varceal go? Surely you'd have known he would have stoked the flames of war."
  85. [19:49] Amori says, "Orodyn wasn't captured but Varceal was. Orodyn's dying wish was a trade for his brother."
  86. [19:50] Amori says, "We honored his request, naturally."
  87. [19:51] Gajin says, "None of what you just said is known beyond the walls of Osrona and at this point anything you say will be seen a sdeception. "
  88. [19:52] Amori says, "There was a good hundred people at the Gala."
  89. [19:52] Amori says, "I suppose Osrona expected the Fireblooded to be honorable rather than deceitful."
  90. [19:54] Gajin says, "We've different codes of honor and it was easy for Varceal's rage to infect others. Easy for a mass manipulation of emotions from those who hate this city. You should have either killed them both or pardoned them both. Killing one and letting the other go just gave birth to a martyr and a zealot. "
  91. [19:55] Gajin brought a hand up to rub his chin as he thought about what he'd said.
  92. (Gajin)
  93. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  94.
  95. [19:55] Amori says, "Pardoning them both was an easy way to quell the masses, I understood that much. Killing both of them though. That sat uneasy."
  96. [19:55] Gajin says, "Which is why I believe your side of the story now."
  97. [19:56] Gajin says, "Only an a good hearted fool would try to set a middle path like you've done."
  98. [19:57] Amori says, "What's done is done, Osrona can only learn."
  99. [19:57] Gajin says, "Not if it burns."
  100. [19:57] Amori says, "No, it will never burn."
  101. [19:57] Gajin says, "Its burned before Archmagi."
  102. [19:57] Gajin says, "I am a Lorekeeper Archmagi."
  103. [19:57] Gajin asks, "The Lorekeeper, would you wish for a lesson in history?"
  104. [19:57] Amori says, "Sorely. Though, perhaps my words didn't convey the resolve I meant."
  105. [19:58] Gajin says, "Oh no I heared the optimistic tone in your voice."
  106. [19:59] Leaning against the nearby bars, the Archmagi props his chin up with a hand. He strokes fingers against his jaw.
  107.
  108. "I've learnt bits and pieces but nothing extensive."
  109. (Amori)
  110. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  111.
  112. [19:59] Gajin says, "Most haven't it took a blessing from the Red God to ignite my own thirst for knowledge."
  113. [20:00] Gajin asks, "Can you imagine I used to be just a mindless brute out for blood?"
  114. [20:00] Gajin chuckled, in prison for trying to skin Sol alive.
  115. (Gajin)
  116. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  117.
  118. [20:02] Amori asks, "With how you write on those walls?"
  119. [20:02] Amori says, "No."
  120. [20:02] Amori says, "Runewriting is an ancient magic."
  121. [20:03] Gajin brought a hand up to trail down his burnt flesh speaking as he did so.
  122. (Gajin)
  123. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  124.
  125. [20:03] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  126. [20:03] Gajin says, "Anointed in the flames of a god will cause woundrous changes."
  127. [20:04] Amori asks, "Which god was this?"
  128. [20:04] Gajin says, "Garljing, the Red God. Also known as the Great Wyrm. Son of Ryujin and sole lord and master of the Tarian. It is he who we of the Fireblooded owe our existance. "
  129. [20:06] Gajin says, "Tell me Archmagi, how much do you know of those beyond Osrona? "
  130. [20:07] Amori says, "Only some. I know of different Gods."
  131. [20:07] Amori says, "Some traits, the honor Fireblooded stand by."
  132. [20:07] Amori says, "Garjling, son of the Divine Spirit Ryujin."
  133. [20:07] Amori asks, "Correct?"
  134. [20:08] Gajin says, "Divine Dragon Ryujin, not spirit but yes that's mostly true."
  135. [20:08] Gajin asks, "Do you... Osronan's not have a Lorekeeper?"
  136. [20:11] Amori says, "Not one that I can easily find."
  137. [20:11] Amori says, "We prefer books."
  138. [20:11] Amori says, "Compared to word-of-mouth."
  139. [20:11] Gajin says, "Books are just things. Without comprehension, without wisdom. They are nothing."
  140. [20:14] Amori says, "That's a good point, however, lorespeakers can change the story naturally."
  141. [20:14] Amori says, "There is benefits to both."
  142. [20:14] Gajin asks, "Yes, I can but trusting a book is trusting a lorespeaker that is dead and gone. Why listen to his twists that are so outdated when mine are so much more enjoyable?"
  143. [20:15] Gajin flashed jagged toothed grin, leaning agaisnt the bars as he spoke. That light of mischief ever present in his eyes.
  144. (Gajin)
  145. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  146.
  147. [20:15] Amori says, "You're amusing. Persuasive."
  148. [20:17] Gajin says, "I am well liked among my Kindred."
  149. [20:18] He smiles for only a second. His lips thin out into a fine line.
  150.
  151. "Okay. I'm listening."
  152. (Amori)
  153. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  154.
  155. [20:19] Gajin says, "Hahaha, then let me tell you a tale. A warning of what could be and what is. "
  156. [20:24] Amori says, "Just in time for a history lesson, Tybalt."
  157. [20:25] Tybalt lux Mighas says, "I'm not unversed in History. Though it may be interesting to see it from their perspective."
  158. [20:31] The Drakanite shifted from the bars and walked towards the far wall. Stopping and gazing up towards the myriad designs he'd written upon it. Plans, notes, runes of all shapes and sizes. It was a moment before he turned back towards Amori.
  159.
  160. "Almost two hundred years ago Osrona's imperial power over Esshar was broken in the Demon wars. It was only the combined might of a briefly pro-Osronan Theria and the city itself that pushed back the demons. The Lion and Dragon together slew the abomination of Witches." He spoke and as he did so his eyes sparkled.
  161.
  162. "Yet, the fight broke both our cities. Shattered under the weight of millions of dead and dying. It was then that the lesser peoples of Esshar broke away from each of us. It was then that the twin-faced devils of Myllenoris came. With their honeyed words and porcelain skin. Weaving deceptions of friendship and comradeship with first you Osronans."
  163.
  164. He walked back to the bars, leaning his forearm against them as he flashed a grin. "It was the Grimmore which betrayed your city. It was your King, twisted and used by a Witch, it was your Lightbringers eager for the blood of Dragons, it was your people to weak to overthrow despots. It was these things that left the Lion of Osrona. Alone amid a pack of wolves."
  165.
  166. "It was nearly a hundred years ago when the war of Betrayal was fought. Esshar gathered around the walls of Osrona. Armies from Theria to Ilsburg, Myllenoris to Albastre. Stormed the cities walls and it was the Terraphim which slew your city and razed it to the ground. Only a shell remained and it is that shell that you now hold in your grasp archmagi."
  167.
  168. As he spoke he'd extend a hand out to the side, his fingers curling inwards to add emphasis. "That is the history of your cities greatest defeat. Slew by those who have played at being kindred." He glanced to the side at Tybalt but then his gaze returned to Amori. "You stand at the precipice, Osrona is once again surrounded by wolves. However, I am curious if you'll do what the Old Petrakis did. Will you foolish believe yourself undefeatable? Your city beyond destruction? Your people merely warriors in your name?"
  169.
  170. He gave a soft pause to add effect. "Or! Will you take a different path? I can tell you even now there are avenues for peace. Avenues for allies to be gained. You simply need to know where to look and how to go about it." It was then that he stopped his story and offered a shrug, lips curling into a smile.
  171.
  172. "Then again, I'm but a Lorekeeper trying to pass the time. You've no reason to take anything I say for value."
  173. (Gajin)
  174. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  175.
  176. [20:41] Tilting his head the man studies Gajin in silence, something ticks along in his head. Tick, tock.
  177.
  178. "A tragic history, then. And only by it's defeat did I gain this position. Geztelle said something similar," clasping his chin, fingers drum against his chin and jaw.
  179.
  180. "I humbly request your advice if you're offering. Where to look, these other avenues for allies gained. Knowledge is a gift I will not waste."
  181. (Amori)
  182. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  183.
  184. [20:49] Tybalt would have remained silent throughout the story, respectfully. Though the perpetual cloud of tobacco smoke that drifted around him made it hard to miss his presence nonetheless.
  185.
  186. "It was indeed the defeat of the Essharan Kingdom. Though I believe you leave out the part where diplomacy was attempted and rebuffed, the Fireblooded of the day were too keen on blood and vengeance." Oddly, there was no accusation in the Radiant's normally belligerent voice.
  187.
  188. "Though given they were lead by a madman at the time, they can hardly be blamed for that. We all occasionally make acquaintances and friends we regret later."
  189. (Tybalt lux Mighas)
  190. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  191.
  192. [20:55] "And the death of a Dragon, don't overlook that Tybalt." Dun Task was a madman of course but the dragon's death is what hardened the populate against Osrona.
  193.
  194. Though his attention shifted towards Amori. "Well, before I give such valuable advice. I must be selfish and give you personal advice. With what to do with me." As he said the words he'd give a sigh.
  195.
  196. "You've got two real choices and I'll work them out for you. The first is that you execute me. If you do it must be done in a brutal and public fashion. To strike fear in the hearts of the timid. This will of course turn those who view me in a positive light into Zealots and make me a martyr."
  197.
  198. He then gave a sigh and trailed on. "Or you let me go free unharmed. This will weaken the view of Osrona being the pure aggressors and surely my tales of kind treatment will convince many to pursue one of the alternatives I would give you for peace."
  199.
  200. Pausing for a moment he brought a hand up to rub the back of his neck, yawning quietly. "Or you keep me locked away, considering the accusations of Ordyn's ignoble death in a jail cell? Well... Its a bad look and will broke you no friends. Similar to the treatment of the Vartuul in fact." After he finished speaking he looked evenly at Amori.
  201.
  202. "So, I wish to know what my fate will be."
  203. (Gajin)
  204. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  205.
  206. [20:59] "You forgot one thing," he says, tilting his head further.
  207.
  208. "There's also the hard fact that even with Osrona not appearing the hard aggressors, our enemies will not care. That they merely want bloodshed, war and conquest."
  209.
  210. "In which case, letting you go will only mean we have to face you on the battlefield later."
  211.
  212. Tapping his chin, he wondered how Gajin would respond.
  213. (Amori)
  214. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  215.
  216. [21:06] Gajin flashed a grin, nodding to the Archmagi. "Aye, were I without honor the moment I walked out of your gate's I'd begin my attempts to put your Knights to the sword." The Drkanite brought a finger up to tap the bars.
  217.
  218. "Were I without honor, luckily for you I've a Dragon's tongue and not a serpents. One need ask those such as Bell if I am trustworthy or even Sol, who bested me. I gave him passage off the Tarian the day of Orodyn's death so long as he was no Knight of this city. In fact I told him if he was one I'd flay him alive." There was a soft shrug. "Turns out there was a deal of miscommunication so that oath has been unbound of me. Yet, when I thought it binding I did all in my power to fulfill it."
  219.
  220. He then tapped his skull. "If I walk out of Osrona's gates free I'll not walk back through them a foe. If I'm allowed back through them as a Lorekeeper I could even give you my wisdom."
  221. (Gajin)
  222. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  223.
  224. [21:10] A short nod follows.
  225.
  226. "You have a silver tongue, and some charisma," he smiled.
  227.
  228. "I do not make all my decisions on impulse but you've made me consider other options. What're these other avenues of peace? If they're reasonable, they'll only lend to your hope of release. However, you already know that, don't you?"
  229. (Amori)
  230. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  231.
  232. [21:20] Chuckled at the response his gaze shifted towards the ceiling for a few moments. "Truly, having all the cards makes you a difficult man to charm Amori." His gaze then shifted back to the Archmagi.
  233.
  234. "First, if you sent assassins for Lannis it would remove the keystone of the Deep Companies casus belli. Yet, they may still fight but it'd have no legitimacy. Secondly, you Archmagi could issue an honor duel to Varceal to end the matter. He wants your blood for the killing of his brother but if you best him combat? He's lost a great deal of his momentum. We Fireblooded aren't slaves and none need fight for a Dragonlord they believe to be wrong."
  235.
  236. His fingers came up, three of them to be exact. "The Moxtli have many tribes, your best bet of gaining their trust is through the Shaman D'Noxa. She wishes for an honor duel with Ares over the maiming of her daughter. Arrange this on the terms of her words for peace and you will at the least slow down if not stop the Moxtli's war efforts. They are after-all tied up with Achyon."
  237.
  238. He gave a short pause. "Achyon is another ally if you've the will to dirty yourself with their ilk. Though, that would hard-line Moxtli against you. Which, I'll tell you that you may defeat the Fireblooded and Deep Company but the Moxtli are simply to numerous."
  239.
  240. "I will say that peace with the Fireblooded or Deep Company officially is unlikely but with the Moxtli?" He gave a shrug. "You've just got to prove to them that you're not racists and respect their ways. Tell them of what truly happened and they will know Orodyn's actions to be dishonorable. Raising the family of the Taiyang to nobility would be a good start. The lack of Beastkin in your nobility is a great source of tension within the Moxtli tribes."
  241.
  242. They were all slim chances and most of them just gave advice on how to knock out a faction from the war rather than fully best it. Yet, Gajin seemed to believe they were worth considering.
  243. (Gajin)
  244. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  245.
  246. [21:21] Gajin says, "I suppose my point is cripple the wolves and get one of them on your side. "
  247. [21:32] Tybalt lux Mighas says, "The Nobility are a vestigial organ of a fallen empire. They have funny names, and stories of their ancestors. Nothing more."
  248. [21:33] Gajin says, "A truth that few truly comprehend. "
  249. [21:33] Folding a letter into half and putting it into a pocket, the man turns back to Gajin.
  250.
  251. To these words he taps his chin, this could be true. Some of what Gajin said was reasonable and held weight. Some things he had not considered. Other facts he already knew.
  252.
  253. "Unfortunately I cannot quite raise any family to nobility. In the sense that, while I may be granted absolute power, there's certain subjects I do not see a reason to touch. Nobility is one. There is only two great houses that remain. The Pelleaux and the Astor house. And it's mostly in name," he admits.
  254.
  255. Tapping his chin.
  256.
  257. "Thank you anyway. I'm guessing after this you want a more light-hearted prison guard?" he tilts his head.
  258. (Amori)
  259. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  260.
  261. [21:35] Chuckled and replied without pause.
  262.
  263. "A more attractive one at-least."
  264. (Gajin)
  265. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  266.
  267. [21:36] Amori says, "Ahah."
  268. [21:36] Amori says, "I'll tell Sol then."
  269. [21:36] Gajin says, "Though! Consider the raising of nobility closely. It would do more than you may imagine and what could it hurt? After all its the vestigial organ of a fallen empire."
  270. [21:36] Gajin says, "Aye, tell the man I've no longer a wish to flay him alive."
  271. [21:37] Gajin walked away from the bars to return to the far wall. Leaning against it with a yawn.
  272. (Gajin)
  273. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  274.
  275. [21:37] Gajin says, "Regardless, unless you two simply can't keep your eyes off my handsome visage I'd like to get some sleep."
  276. [21:38] Amori asks, "Curious. Do you want a guard or not?"
  277. [21:39] Gajin says, "No, best keep those guards on your walls."
  278. [21:44] "A final thought, while the council has since expanded greatly, at one point half of the High Council was beastkin. The high council represents a greater influence upon the city then the nobility in near every sense." Tybalt would reply, raising a hand, and index finger with it his voice calm at first but dripping with distaste as he continued. "And secondly, that one of the Moxtli's own was permitted to take the trials of the Archmagi alongside Amori, Haruki, and myself. That she was not chosen by the gods is not our doing."
  279.
  280. Shrugging he would grin, his teeth flashing silver in the shadows. "Though if I must admit, the widespread belief in Osrona's anti-beastkin prejudice is faintly amusing, given I'm the source of most of it."
  281. (Tybalt lux Mighas)
  282. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
