  1. I welcome the change of only allowing posting suggestions and bug reports. I bet many will not favour
  2. my opinion, and I haven't been active here for a long time, but ever since the last big forum changes,
  3. there were no reasons for forums to exist, outside of having suggestions and bug reports. All the other
  4. kind of things you could do here, like chat about the most random things, can be done somewhere
  5. else, like on discord, which is exactly what you've been persuading us to do.
  6. That said, the way you implemented this giant change by suddenly removing every single topic that
  7. wasn't a suggestion or bug report, without any single announcement shocked me. We're talking years
  8. of images, videos, events, polls, memories.... just gone.
  9. I understand that people shouldn't be always be stuck on something expecting everything to be the
  10. same, forever. People should keep improving, which also means moving on, especially if the thing
  11. you're supposed to move on from is a minecraft forum.
  12. So you should move on, but also bring what you learnt and experienced with you. Keep remembering
  13. the things that happen and the memories you made. And cherish that.
  14. I had so much fun when I found these forums back when covid started and I was stuck home. As a
  15. non-native english speaker, I was able to improve my english by talking here. I met people with all
  16. over the world and played on Hive with them. Even the dramas that happened here are something I
  17. treasure, even though they were pointless and hurt a lot of people. But all of these things contributed
  18. to my memories of this place and made me improve as a person. And I'm definitely not the only one
  19. with memories like these. And the topics were a way to come back after a few years to see what we
  20. experienced and how we acted when we were younger.
  21. I absolutely hate the fact you got rid of all the topics. These topics were like books you just suddenly
  22. took, literally without any notice, and burned them. This is literally such a 1984 and Fahrenheit 451
  23. move. As I said, memories should be cherished and checking back on these topics we made in a few
  24. years is one of them. Not all memories can be preserved to be kept not just inside of your head, these
  25. forums were a way to do that. And you just completely destroyed them.
  26. It's ironic how we live in age where everything can be and is written down and saved, but some people
  27. act like this. I wonder what was your intention here. Getting rid of all the evidences of bad things that
  28. happened here, like dramas and the mistakes staff made? Are you trying to create a place without any
  29. flaws that's totally family friendly? You do realize such a place can't exist? That love can't exist without
  30. hate? Communists also wanted everyone to be a happy. But no one was truly happy. And the countries
  31. stagnated. And if this continues, Hive, as a community, will stagnate too.
  32. Whatever the intentions are, at least let us see our memories for one last time. The best thing you can
  33. do is retrieve them and outside of locking them, make them hidden. This way, we will be able to still
  34. check them via notifications or via links. Or at the very least, let us see the topics for one last time so
  35. we can screenshot them.
  36. Whatever happens next is purely up to you - the staff team. I apologize for writing so much, but I think
  37. I got everything I wanted to say across. You can consider this a goodbye post. I doubt I'll be returning
  38. anytime soon as I decided that I will completely leave the Hive community and not contribute in any
  39. way. I plan to play on the server from time to time but otherwise, I'm out. I would like to thank
  40. everyone who contributed to my memories, especially people who aren't here anymore.
  41. Goodbye
