Hi. I recently noticed your announcement of your 3rd child being on the way. Firstly, congratulations! Secondly, I appreciate you opening this message and for you reading it. However, I want to cut to the chase.

I absolutely know how sensitive of a topic this is, and I know this can seem really weird, but (if the child will be male) have you researched the cons to circumcision?

I’m really trying to not come off as a creeper, I’m just an honestly concerned stranger who felt the need to try and reach out. I want to try and bring awareness to the horror (sorry for the strong language choice) that is this procedure.

It’s unnecessary, harmful, and in my opinion, a violation of human rights. I am by no means trying to put blame on you or your wife if this procedure has been done before, apologies if I come off that way! It’s the lack of education that doctors fail to provide that leads to this.

I urge you to put 30 minutes to an hour of time researching the procedure to make a more educated decision that will permanently affect your child’s future. I will warn, however, that some material may be disturbing. Things like videos of the procedure, potential failings of the procedure, a potential feeling of being robbed (if you yourself were circumcised), etc. can easily prove to be horrible to see or feel.

I once again want to assert that I am only an activist trying to bring awareness to a topic that is rather hush-hush nowadays. I will also once again thank you for reading this, or even going as far as to open the message at all.

TL;DR: If your child will be male, have you researched the procedure of circumcision? It is medically unnecessary in the majority of cases, harmful, and planted into society by the same crackpot guy who advocated for FGM in the U.S. please spend a small amount of time to research a procedure that will affect your child for their whole life.
