Wow, I knew it was close by but I didn't know it was within walking distance! I gotta learn these street names eventually. Anyway, I think I should go up by myself, it's probably weird enough that a stranger shows up asking to talk to your newly adopted neko, let alone two.

*doorbell SFX*

Hi there! How are you?

Geez, you're not too friendly, are you?

Oh, no, I'm not selling anything. I just was wondering if I could talk to your neko.

I *know* you adopted one recently; I lived at the same shelter as them. Actually, I was their [mom/dad] while we were there together.

I'm not trying to kidnap your child! How hard is it to believe that I just want to see my little one again?

[listener walks behind parent]

Hey, there you are baby! Come here you little rascal!

[listener comes out and hugs speaker]

Mmph, I missed you. I missed you so *so* much, you know that?

Wait what? 'Don't hug strangers?' B-But I'm not a stranger! I'm--I'm... Tell them, hun. Tell them about the time we spent together at the shelter.

See? I'm not lying! I'm not here to sell you anything, I'm not here to kidnap your little one, I'm just here to see them. [quickly; rambly] I... I got so scared when I heard they were adopted. We were inseparable for months, then *I* got adopted and had to only visit them and then *they* got adopted and I thought I had lost them forever and I got so scared but it turns out you live super close to me! See? [points] That's my house! So, uhm... can I come in?

No? Oh, that's understandable, uhm, how about we go for a walk together! That'd be fun. It's a nice day outside, too!

I'm not going to run off with them! Do-- do you still not trust me? B-But I... I'm not trying to do anything evil, I promise. My master is in the car, do you want to talk to them? Here, I'll go get them!

Then... what *can* we do that's okay with you? I really just want to spend some time with my little one.

Hehe, [slightly angry/gritted teeth] no... they're... mine... You may have adopted them, but they're *always* going to be my baby.

There is no arguing with me on this, you got it? I don't care what paperwork you have, you don't have the special bond that we have.

Y-you can't just take them away! Ask them! Ask them about how they feel about you taking them away from their [mommy/daddy] so that they'll *never* see them again. [Smugly baiting] You don't want to make them cry, do you?

See? Maybe you should listen to them; they know what they want.

*sigh* I'm sorry for being so protective. It's... something I have to work on; it's happened to me before, and it looks like it happened again. I just... I never *had* anyone that looked up to me as a role model or someone that loved me unconditionally. And... it's going to take a while for me to get used to my little one... [choked up] not being mine anymore...

[verge of tears] If... if you really want me to go and not bother you anymore, I understand. I understand how weird it is for me to come to you asking to play with your neko so... just... say the word and I'll... [very quietly] leave...

Y--you'll let me play with them? Really?

Okay, we can stay in your backyard... Come on hun, hold my hand, okay?

[squeezes listener] Oh my god baby, I thought I lost you forever. I'm so happy that you live so close to me. We can visit each other whenever we like now!

*sigh* Honey, I don't think things will ever be the same as they were at the shelter. Life there was... good. We got to spend *so* much time together. We really got close because of that, you know?

The cookies? Oh yea, how I'd sneak a few extra out of the lunch line every now and again just for a special treat for you and I?

Wait, oh no... There were still a couple of cookies left in the drawer when I left. And the boss was the one who cleaned it out. Soooo, he probably knows it was me. Hehe, oops. Well, he never said anything about it to me when I visited. I hope that means it was okay.

*laughs* I *know* it was wrong, hun. But... you didn't complain about getting all those tasty cookies now did you?

See? You're as bad as me! That's okay, though. We'll be bad together.

I think... it has to be the day we met. I was so... *stubborn* at first. I really didn't want to have to take care of anyone else, I thought it would be a bother, you'd be a pain to deal with, and that my life would just be miserable. But, the second you walked through the door, I think I knew deep down that I was going to love you forever.

Yes, even after you bit my tail... That *really* hurt by the way. I hope you learned not to do that with any of the other kittens.

Only if they were mean to you! *laughs* Oh you're a vindictive little thing aren't you?
