BACKGROUND:
DURING SEOLIN'S childhood days, she never had the best life, she hated her life so much until the point that she wanted to give everything up. she had always been reading, writing and drawing. as much of an angel that seolin looks like, her parents were, pretty abusive towards their own child. they’d hit her, slap her, kick her when she made mistakes and locked her up in a room for days.. she was even too scared to talk to her parents. that made her feel burdened. but she loved going to school, she was a smart student, she had friends, she could talk and people would listen. that’s why she she hates the holidays as she would get locked in her room and sometimes her parents would starve her.

but, there was one thing that she enjoyed most during her childhood days, that is joining the choir, she got to practice singing there and was surprisingly one of the best students there. she felt proud and hoped that she could follow her dreams—her abusive parents wanted her to be a lawyer, but she knew that’s not where her heart wanted to go. she put her in many activities after school, she was pressured, but never complained. from sports to arts—she has probably tried them all! (no—it’s just um ‘hiperbola’) such as martial arts, fencing, piano lessons, guitar lessons, basketball and others.

when she was around 17 years old, they moved to jeju, south korea. they moved because of her father's work, they ‘dragged’ seolin there, threatening her that if she didn’t want to come—they could end up doing something very bad to her. she didn’t want to die, they’d kill her, probably. so, she decided to join them. instead of being happy to ‘start a new life’ outside china, this made seolin more nervous because she didn't she wasn't very fluent in korean. she only knew the basics. at her school, she would use sign language to tell people what she is feeling or doing, she was glad that some of the kids wanted to make friends with her, and some still don't, they bullied her for being ‘mute’ but she had friends that she could talk to and share feelings or worries to each other, and her friends helped her to be more fluent in korean.

once, her parents had a huge fight and blamed it all on seolin, they continued to do abusive things to her. locking her up in a small room with nothing except for a bed and a cupboard, starved her, kicked her—all those bad things. seolin was kicked out of the house and move in with her grandmother, who took care of her. she loved her grandmother dearly, she wouldn’t starve and could talk freely, she could even put a sincere smile on her face! but then, her grandmother had a heart attack and died, it was the hardest days for seolin.

after her death, seolin lived with their uncle and aunt—which treated her like their own birth child, her aunt sadly couldn't give birth because of health issues and that's the main reason why she is very special to them. though being quiet at first, the girl soon warmed up to her new parents, because of them treating her extremely nicely and giving her what she wanted and needed. though, she spoke only broken-korean to them since she wasn't very fluent in korean yet—but by the help of them, she became more fluent. she spoke chinese with them here and there, but they insisted that she should learn more korean, because she’ll probably be spending the rest of her life in korea. her aunt and her husband are fully chinese, but they have been living in korea for such a long time

seolin and her (quote on quote) parents moved to daegu because of her father's work and he didn't want to leave them behind. when they moved to the new neighborhood, that was around 2014, seolin started to like more of the korean culture. one day when she was scrolling through youtube, she accidentally clicked on exo’s what is love? (chinese version) music video. then, it hit her, after knowing about their amazing vocals, she wanted to become just like them. who knew that would be the best accident in her life. she was hesitant to tell her parengs as she thought that they wouldn't like the idea of her. but it turned out she was completely wrong! they accepted her dream and decided to support her until the end. this made her work completely hard and she believed in herself more. she started to trust herself more, if that was possible.

she then joined a band called ‘StarBlaze’ that was an all female band and was the main vocalist there, she would also be the keyboardist from time to time, but the band decided to focus more on her vocals to shine. she earned quite the popularity from doing it, and since her uncle and aunt were very supportive and went to every performance of her if they had the time, this also made her much closer with them.

one day in 2018, when seolin was walking home from performing at a nearby cafe with her band, a lady tapped her shoulder. she thought that she was going to get kidnapped and ran away. she then got tired and ran out of breath so she sat down. the lady came up to her but as she was about to run away again, she gave seolin her business card. the lady said she saw her performance when she was trying to cast some new trainees for yuehua entertainment. after thinking about it for a while, she came to yuehua to start training there. She's a fast learner, who is humble and pretty quiet during the first meetings. but, she hopes that she can make her (new) parents proud

supportive.
     seolin loves supporting her friends whenever she can and is always hyping up others no matter what. she loves making other people feel better and loves to give advice too at times!

sweet.
     she is known to be a sweet friend that is always there for you, her “flower girl” and innocent image has always been kept from when she was just a child. she is known to be selfless and always reliable and someone you can trust with your life.

calm.
     she tends to go with the flow of a certain situation, she isn't someone who'd be loud and randomly hype things up. she tends to be way much more quiet and will only speak if someone talks to her.

     she has always been observant since elementary school and she tries to make things better for her peers. therefore, she can notice it quickly if her friends are sad or upset about something

    she has a hard time speaking about her own problems. it’s because she doesn’t want others to worry about her so she keeps her problems a secre, it’s also because of her past. she won’t even open up to her own family

    she’s known for being very passionate with her beliefs in certain things and isn't really afraid to speak out about her thoughts. sometimes.. little things can get her into an argument but if that person is ready to drop her self confidence down then she’ll immediately back off
